Astoria has a beautiful history - is sadly in need of new management.

The price of the rooms does not reflect the cleanliness and state of rooms 👎
No coffee/tea in room? Dirty carpets?
At this price?

Staff is service-oriented, helpfull and smiling.
Five stars for the staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Breakfast: High quality - yet on the low side on variation and selection.
Same breakfast in 5 days - only last day a new variation - small pancakes...

The bar in the evening is run by to ‘old’ guys - they are doing a great job mixing cocktails!

We planned to stay for 4 nights in this hotel in Modern renovated room.
Once we got into the room it was so hot and humid, we immediately thought about turning on the AC.
Once we turned on the AC - It was super noisy and though the settings were set to cold air @ 20C degrees - it was just pumping more hot air into the room.

We contacted the reception and he told us that the “AC is not working today in the entire hotel”. I asked what about tomorrow - he said he didn't know and he asked me to contact the hotel manager via email at the same night (Did not get a response until now).
We ended up opening the windows while going for a walk outside, waiting for the room to cool down a bit.

When we got back to the room - it was slightly better but many bugs and flies found their way into the room, which took us more than an hour to clear.
The 1 night we spent there was terrible.

1. Though outside it was cold, the room was hot and humid. The mattress on the side 2. has been completely sunken and was terribly uncomfortable.
3. The bathroom was filthy and seems like it was rarely cleaned.
4. The staff were clueless and had 0 care about our stay.

The morning after we re-checked the AC status with the reception. As there was no change we decided to demand a full refund for the rest of the 3 nights we booked and we moved to a proper hotel.

Do yourself a favor and do not show your face in this (NOT) hotel.
