The Westin Excelsior, Florence

Was lucky enough to get a chance to stay at this historical property because of a work event we were organizing in Italy.

Due to my platinum status, I was upgraded to an Arno view room, and I must say everything about it was stunning. The room, the view and the little touches that the team has put into making our stay memorable.

Location wise it's perfect, since it's located in the middle of town. You can easily take a stroll around Florence, and there were lots of restaurants nearby. We had a few drinks at the bar and the service team were very friendly and efficient.

Breakfast was good as well, they had a small section of Asian food, which is quite rare in Europe.

All in all, it's a worth it place to stay if you could afford it. One of the better hotels in Florence.

Truly a wonderful experience. One of the best locations and offerings Florence has. My wife and I visited while on our honeymoon for one night. Carolina at the front desk helped us with a breathtaking room overlooking the river. You could tell she enjoys her job and cares about how her guests enjoy the experience. Also Iacopo with concierge helped us plan an entire itinerary. He could tell my wife was concerned about limited time and helped with this without her even asking. Greatly appreciate the team at Westin!

We had an amazing stay here in August. Service was top notch. Hotel was beautiful. Close to everything! As a platinum member of Marriott we were upgraded to a junior suite at check in which was appreciated.

My son has a severe egg allergy and the staff went above and beyond making sure everything was safe for him! Moreno, at breakfast, knew about his allergy before we even told him about needing extra care with our food. Talk about service!!!! He remembered our order each morning for my son - as they had to get food from the back kitchen to avoid cross contact. He was always so kind and helpful! We truly appreciated his service each day! We utilized room service a lot too and they were excellent - from the staff who took our order to the waiters who dropped off our food, everyone verified the food was without egg even without us asking.
The concierge was excellent as well helping to arrange tours for us.
We will recommend this hotel to anyone we know staying in Florence.

What a beautiful hotel with river views (for some rooms). Perfectly located in the area of town that allows you to walk to many of the attractions. Service is of the utmost importance here and is noticeable. The bar here is highly recommended. They also have a rooftop bar!

We stayed at this property 8 years ago and decided to do so again last week. Sometimes things are not as good the second time around but it wasn’t the case with this hotel. The staff was extraordinary…helpful beyond our expectations. The property in the middle of a renovation was pristine. Our room was terrific…large, open, and well appointed. The view of the Arno and surrounding area from our balcony was breathtaking. If I had a nit, it would be that our shower was only a tub with a shower curtain. Not what we expected at this property. That point aside, this is a fabulous hotel. It will certainly be included in the Luxury Collection after renovation. Spoil yourself and allow these professionals to host your next visit to Florence.

The concierge and front desk staff are dedicated famiglia at this hotel. I must call out Costanza for her help and caring support during our stay, she became a friend and much like the rest of the staff, a reason why I will only stay at this hotel while in Milan.

Also, their hotel is also beautiful and sits along the Arno river making for breathtaking views day or night.

This Westin is amazing! The service, the food, and the architecture. This hotel is a museum. The architectures, the design and the arts are breathtaking without forgetting the amazing view. This place is located in center city. That's great for restaurants around, local food, bars and nightlife. All is at a walking distance. I'll recommend this place anytime in Florence

Absolutely wonderful hotel located on the Arno River. The service is amazing, from the awesome buffet breakfast to the nightly turn down service with slippers laid bedside. Felt like we were staying in a palace.

Many great restaurants nearby and simply walking around the area is a feast for the eyes.

I had the best stay in Florence at this wonderful hotel. The rooms were incredibly spacious, providing a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere throughout my stay. The breakfast was consistently excellent, never failing to satisfy. The service team went above and beyond, meeting all of my expectations with a warm and welcoming attitude. I must mention Leonardo, the concierge, whose exceptional service and local expertise truly made my stay unforgettable. I can't wait to return to this exceptional establishment in the heart of Florence.

In addition to all the other wonderful aspects of this hotel, the rooftop views were simply stellar. Gazing out over Florence from the rooftop was a breathtaking experience, adding a touch of magic to an already remarkable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for not only its superb accommodations and service but also for the unforgettable vistas from its rooftop.
