Hotel Da Vinci

In what world is this a 4* hotel? The rooms are dirty and worn. Flooring falling apart and buckling under your feet, gouges in paint, spiderwebs on the ceiling and walls, TV remote missing batteries, terrible mildew smell in bathroom, grout and tiles falling apart in bathroom, the list goes on. The breakfast is absolutely dreadful, not even worth the measly €15 a person.

I understand that you get what you pay for, obviously this wasn't an expensive hotel and we were fine with that since our stay there was only to sleep off the jetlag, but please do not claim to be a 4* hotel when the amenities are not even that of a cheap motel.

I would absolutely steer clear of this hotel or pay a little more to stay at something with ANY amenities. If this hotel hadn't been arranged just for us to get over jetlag I would have been really really bummed with our time there.

This is our third time visiting Hotel Da Vinci. We first visited Da Vinci in 2017, and there were no problems during our stay. In 2023 we stayed in Da Vinci again and once again, it went great. However, when we stayed in Hotel Da Vinci this july, there were black mold in the bathrooms (a serious health hazard). Thankfully we only spent two nights here. The breakfast has gotten quite expensive as well. I do not feel like a family of four should need to pay 15 euros per person per breakfast, especially when the bathrooms have black mold in them. The staff were nice and the location was great. It's sad to see how the hotel we've trusted over the years has deteriorated to this extent. This will most likely be our last time in Hotel Da Vinci until we know the mold problem is gone.

I shortened my stay by one day for these reasons, the reception assured that they would refund the cost of one night, but they did not do it

I would not recommend this hotel for long stays.

The hotel was very loud, could hear people walking around late into the night, banging through the walls and people talking all night due to very thin walls.

The room deco is a little outdated and bathroom is a little mouldy. We asked for our room to be cleaned and all that the cleaner done was changed our bedsheets whilst talking on the phone. The room was never fully cleaned once during our 5 day stay!

Some of the staff were lovely and very helpful although others were not. For example, I explained that the air conditioning in our room was not working and the lady at reception replied “I know”? The room phone also didn’t work and the electricity would randomly go off in the room. The hallway also smelt of drains.

Location feels very isolated and is around 30 mins drive from the Dome and 15 min drive from the train station although a lot longer with traffic although it is a cheaper than staying in central.

Although the receptionists were very nice and kind and gave many details about the stay in the Milan area, this does not change the fact that the hotel is really not maintained and clean. The showers are old with wet and rotten frames, there is a bad smell and the toilet seat in the bathroom is so old that it is yellow. The walls in the room are scratched and dirty and there are places in the ceiling with dust particles. The location of the hotel is in a distressed neighborhood and it is not pleasant to walk around the area at night. What's more, there is nothing to do in this area at night or in the morning. In addition, the hotel is about fifteen minutes' walk from the metro. In my opinion, a 4-star hotel does not deserve as much as it does.
