If you love history and beauty and if you treasure superb customer service, you must book this Palozzo overlooking Piazza Navona. Once the family residence of a Pope, this 16th century structure connected to a church and a museum is now a beautifully updated elegant Hotel. Close to a wealth of restaurants including a wonderful and romantic eatery on the 4th floor of the hotel that is open for lunches and dinners (best to make reservations through the concierge). Because we visited in December, it was too cold to eat outdoors and we weren't able to enjoy a sunset at the rooftop bar. By the way, 2 taxi drivers commented that the hotel has the best views in the city. Our suite combined new, high end furnishings in the grandeur of the 16th century structure. The old fireplace, large windows and updated bathroom made for a comfortable stay and the in-room safe for valuables added to peace of mind. An elevator made life easier. An included daily breakfast was far beyond what one typically gets in American hotels.
A big part of what makes Palazzo Borromini the special place that it is, is the incredible staff. The Concierge's who work day and night are friendly, warm and gracious, not to mention incredibly informative and helpful. During our stay we didn't meet an employee who wasn't friendly and warm and helpful.
I could go on and on about this gem of a place to stay and we hope to be able to return there soon. Finally, while there, an urgent medical issue arose. The staff response was extraordinary. Not only did they assist us in navigating their medical system, but kept in touch with us throughout the day. Multiple staff members inquired after us and it was lovely and kind beyond the parameters of their work.
For truths sake, the only negative we encountered was also one of the positives. There is a beautiful, rustic interior courtyard open to the outdoors. In December, the cold air funneled upwards. The room was well heated but the hallways got cold and drafty. For us, this was part of the charm of spending time in a genuine place of history.

Staying at Eitch Borromini was an unforgettable experience! The hotel is absolutely stunning — a perfect blend of history, art, and modern comfort, right in the heart of Rome. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Piazza Navona felt like living inside a painting!

The staff were exceptional: warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. Every detail, from the beautifully restored rooms to the elegant breakfast terrace, shows great care and passion for hospitality.

The rooftop bar is simply magical — the view over the city at sunset is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

I can’t recommend Eitch Borromini enough. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a Roman experience full of charm, elegance, and timeless beauty. I will definitely return on my next visit to Rome!

Location was great! Downfalls included shower over flowed and water all over the floor. We asked for extra towels and a clean up. It did not happen. Wifi did not work 80 percent of the time. The air conditioning did not work. I would consider this a 3-4 star place not a 5 . I never leave reviews but this hotel did not live up to my expectations. I travel a lot and felt it was important for people to understand what they are getting.

Such a fantastic hotel. In a former palace, the entire facility is beautiful and charming. Each floor is a separate art gallery, worth walking through the central staircase and exploring each floor.

We had breakfast everyday on the incredible terrace overlooking the piazza and surrounded by the incredible architecture of the attached church!

There is even a secret room the Pope used to spy on the congregation!

Or room was very comfortable, great bedding and sheets, loved the shower.

The staff was always super helpful and friendly with us.

This is a really special place!

We stayed at this property on the last night of a 2 week trip to Italy, and considered this to be the splurge of our trip. While there are some nice things about this hotel, it is not a 5 star hotel and of all the places we stayed during our trip, it was the only hotel I would not return to, the least nice of all our hotel stays, and the most expensive. We stayed at another hotel in Rome at the beginning of the trip as our flight was in and out of Rome. That hotel was much nicer, much less expensive - and in an equally good location.

I understand that this is a very old property and the uniqueness of it is one of its nice features. The property itself is somewhat shabby. Our room itself was not very nice. It was drab, undecorated, and plain. The bathroom was nice. The bed was perhaps the most uncomfortable bed I have ever encountered at a hotel. Room size you can’t do anything about, but the comfort of the bedding you can. This hotel advertises as a 5 star hotel, but feels like a 3 star hotel at best.

There is a nice rooftop bar, though it is very expensive. The location is great.

There are much nicer and less expensive hotels to be found in Rome. This was the only disappointment of our trip - nothing that impacted the trip - but this was nothing like what was advertised or what we paid for.

If you are expecting a 5 star or luxury stay, look elsewhere. And you can do so much better in terms of comfort and decor for much less money.

Staying at Eitch Borromini was truly unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond, offering warm, personalized service—including vegan dishes specially prepared off-menu just for us, which was such a thoughtful and rare touch.

The location couldn’t be more ideal—right in the heart of historic Rome, with many iconic sites within easy walking distance. Every evening, we joined the locals for a leisurely "passeggiare" through charming piazzas and winding streets, soaking in the city's timeless beauty.

The rooftop bar was our favorite way to unwind at the end of each day—peaceful, scenic, and with the kind of relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, providing the perfect retreat after full days of exploring.

From the breathtaking views of Piazza Navona to the elegant atmosphere, every detail made us feel immersed in the magic of Rome. We’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful hotel filled with historical charm and lux amenities, nestled in the heart of the city is close to all that you need. We were walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, shopping, and delicious eateries (Osteria Fortunada). The staff was highly professional and quite accommodating and upgraded our room to a two-story apartment to allow more space for the children. They made an extra bed, which was more than we could ask for. Everyone slept in clean comfort after sleeping in a more cozy cabin stay on a 7 night cruise. The staff even secured our luggage for us to allow us to site see before check in.

The complimentary daily breakfast was absolutely fulfilling and delicious! We were expecting to pay for that type of quality and service. The views on the rooftop terrace for breakfast was spectacular! Not to mention the roof top bar and lounge at night (reservation recommended).

The water in the shower did get cold quickly, but that may just be a city issue rather than the hotel itself.

If ever in Rome again, the Eitch Borromini would be our choice!

Not Good
Bedding stained and wood floors dirty. Flies all over breakfast could not eat. Was not told of bike tour which limited taxi service around hotel the day of our stay and had to pull luggage for blocks with injured hand.

It is a lovely property on Piazza Navona; what more could you ask for? It is in an ideal location.
