APA Hotel Yamanote Otsuka Eki Tower
Tokyo, Toshima-ku Minami Otsuka 3-31-10 🧭 Map
I am currently staying here as part of Japan's mandatory quarantine program for foreign travelers. APA hotel rooms are for business travelers and the rooms themselves are very small, in fact the bed is too small for my body so my feet hang off a bit and the blanket doesn't cover my toes. My major gripe this morning as a quarantined guest, is that they will not provide us with instant coffee. Quarantined...
Stayed here for a week and I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Staff is friendly and I was able to communicate with them easily. Hotel is very modern and clean. The rooms are small but I’m a petite person and had the room to myself so that wasn’t a problem. Has modern amenities and was clean. My brother stayed in a different room and he is over 6’ so it was definitely small for him...
The hotel was good enough for our 8-day stay. Good neighbourhood that’s less tourist-like and with more locals. The hotel service itself is pretty good and the rooms are new and clean. Good location with lots of restaurants and watering holes. There are also 2 convenience stores nearby that work well for travellers. The spa at the 20th floor is a nice touch too. Now, the not-so-good bit. The rooms...
Fantastic staff. Great location. Clean and nice. Hot spa. Great breakfast I highly recommend
Great location, nice area. The hotel is very clean, quiet, staff very willing to help - to the extend they can.

Nice.....hotel. Excellent management, behaviours and well managed. Best wishes for the APA HOTEL.
Location and room were nice. Service was kinda non-responsive and unwelcoming.
Area a bit sketch at night but close to train and the park. the best part is the onsen in the basement!
Designed more as a business hotel I nevertheless found it perfect for a vacation. Rooms are small (but hey, it is Tokyo!) but well formed. There's a full size bed but not a lot of space around it - I was using the room on my own but imagine it would be tricky with two of you in there. There are baths on the ground floor but also one in your room if you're feeling less social. Couldn't fault the...
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... I've stayed in many hotels in Tokyo specifically in the Shinjuku area. This was one of the smaller of hotels I've stayed in this area. However, it was big enough for two average size adults. Location is very good, near public train station exit. Room condition is perfect and clean. Staffs are very nice and willing to help. There is only one thing to take in consideration is no slope way entrance. Carrying big luggage while entering lobby might be problem.
Great place to stay for an overnight. Staff were very helpful, rooms clean and well appointed.
The hotel is a business hotel which in Japan means a very small room but has everything needed for a short stay. The price is right and it came with a really good breakfast. The location was good as it is close to ueno train station and the market. Our biggest issue was the room. There was no ventilation. Couldn't open the window, no air-conditioning and no air circulation. Turning on the fan causes...
Small yet incredible rooom! Very clean and the bed was comfy. Especially if you prefer a firm bed, this one serves you best. You also need to try their breakfast and choose the Japanese menu set, it's the best!
Great value and location, the customer service was top notch and the beds super comfortable and clean. Highly recommend!
Consdering the price, the service is good although the room is a little small. Breakfast is free. Be cautious the limit of guests in a room is two no matter adults or children.

With that amount of fee we can enjoy a complimentary breakfast
A little far from the station, but no problem if you're familiar with Shinjuku. Room and equipment were sufficient for single travel, staff was friendly. Convenience stores, bus stop, coin laundry and restaurants nearby. The only thing that bothered me was that I had a room on the non-smoking floor, but the room and sheets reeked of cigarettes which seemed to be coming out of the air conditioning.
The hotel is very old but the staff are very friendly. The location is not too bad and there's a 7-11 just across the street.
Kinda old looking and a bit overpriced, but did the job
Small rooms and the A/C unit was problematic. We were given a “non-smoking” room but there were two ash trays inside so,,,
Rooms were a little small (coming from American hotels) but it was clean, their restaurant was delicious.

Cozy place and a cheap place to stay in Tokyo. There are convenient stores and restos surrounding the hotel so you don't have to go far for some quick bites and quick grocery. It's also near the train station, it's a great if you want to go around Tokyo. The resto in the 1st floor also serve good food and the staff are accommodating, especially their breakfast are good.
nice room! it was a bit of a walk from the station, and you have to remember to exit from the correct side or it's impossible to find. we didn't have e much of a view, though. there's plenty on the way to the room and within walking distance of plenty of things. the area its in is a bit on the shady side, though. lots of women and dudes just hanging out trying to get your attention. the bed was amazing...

Pretty decent value for money in Tokyo. No complaints. Right next to a 7-11, decent restaurants and train station. Though you may have to walk (10 minutes?) to a different train station depending on which train line you need.
Great hotel. Excellent staff. Worth the money i paid. ?
The hotel price is good, it's near a JR station and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are small, and had problems withmy key and A/C.

I stayed Apa Hotel two nights, its walking distance from KODEMMACHO railway station. And even less than 1km to Akihabara station. Very easy to reach. The prices are very reasonable and staff is helpful. Even though rooms are small, it equipped with all necessary items. Stayed here for four nights recently. Our room was small but neat, modern, bright and clean. Large window allows fresh air in and softness of bed mattress was just right. Everything was nice except the tap in the bathroom was a bit tricky to use. Couldn't take you hand off the tap otherwise water stops or comes out at full force into the tiny basin and splash onto the floor. Good location with three...
It was a nice little place, but it has no aircon
Such small rooms. The fridge turns off when you go outside or someone from the room service turned it off... Idk. All my stuff got bad inside. The Location is perfect. You can go to any worth seeing place from there... on foot or with the underground. Its difficult sometimes to talk to the staff in english. It depends with whoom youre talking to. All in all, we had a great time in Tokio there.
Nice place to stay while on a trip and good it enjoy good location and rates in general were reasonable, glade to stop by again when in Japan. The staff is attentive and friendly.

This hotel is in a great location in Shinjuku and right next to a train station. We found it really easy to get around Tokyo from here and it is next to 3 convenience stores which we found useful. Our room was smaller than western hotels but not as small as other people made it out to be. It was great for us but if you are tall you might struggle with the size of the bathroom with that being so small
100 feet from higashi Shinjuku station. Rooms are small but price is great for location. Very safe neighborhood compared to staying right in Shinjuku. Wouldn't run the AC despite website saying they have access to cut costs. Was difficult to sleep as a result. Windows are superb at cutting out street noise when closed but couldn't since rooms were hot. Laundry dryer doesn't work well due to being ...
Very convenient location, right above the train station. However, note that the nearest train station exit (right beside the hotel) does not have a lift and may post a problem for travelers with a lot of luggage. The hotel feels quite new and well furnished. Toilet is very small even by tokyo standards. Convenient stores nearby with food places that open till late. Giving 4-stars mainly due to convenience
Rooms were quite small but very neat, sleek, functional, and comfortable. Staff were accommodating, easy to communicate with, and knowledgeable. The only thing to take into consideration is that the building is not secure, and you can gain access to all floors without a keycard. Wouldn't stay there alone, but with others it was quite enjoyable.
Great hotel in a great location! It is right next to the subway station so getting around Tokyo is easy. There are a multitude of places to eat nearby with so many different cuisines available. Room was spacious (by Tokyo's standards), the staff were abundant, lovely, and very helpful. Great selection of tea and coffee. Very conveniently located in Oshiage which has lots of cute restaurants, the sky-tree, and close transportation.
One of the cheapest hotels nearby the Skytree in Sumida city.
Great looking hotel room however fairly pricy, I couldn’t recommend staying more than 1-2 nights for the price
Clean and new! Great hospitality and rooftop view. So close to the Oshiage Skytree station and mall.
I have not had a chance to stay there yet but the prompt customer service I have received via email so far has been AMAZING. This is an indicator that customer service is simply their strength.
Great fun place with a roof top garden. Nice and close to a train station to get to the airport (Skywalk). Staff more than helpful.

The room is excellent and very clean and tidy. Excellent service front desk and delicious excellent service breakfast!!!!!! For sure introduce to my friends and go again too.
Great service and the breakfast is very impressive. Room is typically small.
Room is small but clean and tidy, a smoking room located at the lobby, staff are polite and the location is convenience.
Location is very close to Higashi Ginza and Ginza metro stations. Major shopping district is just around the corner. Several converients, 24 hours Macs, famous raman, cafes, restaurants are all within walking distance. Street is quiet at night but feel very safe for a sole traveler. Check in lobby is on level 2. 10 min. walk from Ueno Station. Like most Japanese room: small but enough for 2 persons. Price is reasonable that why we choose it.
English friendly. Comfortable bed, nice space and an excellent shower. Hotel provides everything you will need for a good night rest and stay. The usb cords for every type of interface including iPhone lightening cable was an amazing idea and helped a lot for the stay. Overall, very happy with the stay at the hotel and would gladly stay again.

I stayed for one night with my boyfriend for a brief stop before moving on from Kyoto to Hirosaki. For that the hotel room was good enough. For a longer stay for 2 people in a double bedroom, I cannot recommend this though. There was no space for luggage without completely blocking out all floor space. Room is small. I stayed on 3rd floor. Standard of the APA hotel never disappoint me. It might say that you can come stay without preparation. There are amenities in the room even pajamas. This place also very close to Ameyokocho which is a market that attract both locals and travelers.
The rooms are a little small but its understandable since its Japan but everything about the hotel is well maintained and clean with everything you need! The location is just outside of the busy Ueno zone which is perfect for me. Uno Ueno is my first choice when travelling to Tokyo!
Good and affordable, it's a share hotel so you share your room with other 3 people, it's safe and easy to access
This hotel is very clean and i can say the price is kind of affordable. Got single, double and dorm (10 people) rooms. Double room with bathroom (4k yen) and w/o (3k yen)
Stayed here for a night in a private room. Great place!
Fair price, very basic place to sleep. Dorm arent spacious enough to open luggage (even if you plan to open outside the dorm is impossible). However, bed was big. Washing machine (200yen) and dryer (100yen) (free detergent) was great. It does dry your cloth compared to any other hostel. Staff are friendly and cheerful. Curtain are fully covered. There is fridge inside room also.

My then-boyfriend (now my husband) will never forget the horrid cigarette smell that enveloped the hallways and seeped into our room. The building in its entirety was outdated and this was when we stayed for two nights back in 2018. Hopefully it has changed.
Very small room but clean. Great location For check in its take a time which is bad for us cuz we need to wait like a half and hour.
Good location, so many restraints and bars nearby. But this APA hotel is one of older models (bath room is dated, bed is not comfortable) and the room is really tiny. I also stayed at newer APA hotels which were much much nicer (upgraded bathroom, bed and a larger room). There is no laundry so not recommended for long term stay.
Hotel is good, convenient and with all amenities, would happily return. Rooms are very small, make sure you are prepared for this. For the price of the night it's okay. Very modern hotel and quite aesthetic. I loved the music in the lobby and vegan bakery on Sunday. If you're planning on being out anytime between 1 and 5am, best to look for another hotel or else you will be locked out of the building aa doors are locked at 1 am.
