It's such a friendly and cosy place :) there is a mixture of people from all over the world as well as Japanese local people. I love staying here and the female floor is a safe and comfortable space. Would definitely come back! Much love for everyone working there and staying there ❤😊
Very nice hostel, friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and the cubes have everything you need: USB connection, bed light, hangers, locker. They also have a great kitchen, a nice area to play Nintendo, listen to music or just hang out. An breakfast is also great!
I stayed here for about a week in June 2019, and it was amazing! The facilities were very clean, the beds provided a ton of privacy, and each little bed cubby came with a keyed locker and a smartphone with unlimited data for navigating around Tokyo. The location is really good, just a short walk to the nearest metro station, and I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (hard-boiled eggs and...
A great hostel in a perfect location amongst the hustle and bustle that is Shinjuku. A short walk to public transport and tourist hot spots.
A variety of breads and eggs are provided for breakfast which is a real bonus. Dorms are comfortable and the real kicker is each capsule comes with a tablet with data that you can take with you as you travel. This is quite a social hostel (from my experience...
I spent a week here and enjoyed my stay!
The sleeping rooms are very quiet which was helpful. The bottom pods that are away from the windows are super dark which made sleeping easier.
The staff was very friendly and were very kind by letting me practice my Japanese with them! Whenever I had a need something, they were very accommodating.
The kitchen area on the first floor is the most popular space...

Grids Tokyo Ueno Hotel&Hostel
Tokyo, Taito-ku Ueno 7-10-4 🧭 Map
Conveniently located near Ueno station so it’s to go around Tokyo. Lots of food options around the area as well.
Our room has 5 bunk beds that were really comfortable. There are only 2 showers on each floor but never had to line up or wait for turn.
excellent location (near Ueno station), reasonably price for family group
very clean quiet environment employees understanding good people👍
Very friendly staff, efficient and professional. They made our stay very enjoyable.
I visited from the US. This place was great. The staff were extremely helpful, the location is great, and the bunks were comfortable. I recommend staying here if you need a spot to stay while visiting.

nine hours woman Kanda
Tokyo, Chiyoda-ku Kajicho 2-9-4 🧭 Map
Good location, nice stuff, reasonable price. it's a perfect place if you don't want to communicate people.
The capsules are spacious no TV but free wifi.
The front desk ladies are kind and polite.
All women.
They give you daily amenities at the front desk: one big towel, small towel, foot towel, tooth brush tooth paste, pajama top and bottom.
Literally 2~3 minutes from the nearest station.
Stay here for 6 nites, it looks neat but there are some policies need to be followed in an inconvenient way.
1/ needs to leave the hotel from 10:00 to 14:00 for cleaning.
2/ tight space for use in locker room.
If you’re looking for someplace cheap to stay for a night in Tokyo, this place will do.
It was a pretty generic capsule hotel. It’s in an area very close to a train and a subway station with the train line and a street of bars right outside, so the noise at night didn’t die down until very early in the morning. I highly recommend getting the free earplugs from the front desk.
The capsule itself was...
I stayed here for 5 nights while visiting Tokyo. The facility is clean, and feels luxurious. You are provided everything you need. The pajamas are very comfortable.
The location is very convenient, right next to Kanda Station. It feels very safe being an all woman facility. The other guests were very courteous of the rules, so this was a very pleasant stay.
Thank you so much!

Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro

strategic hotel in ikebukuro with a budget cost.
room was good, clean.
love the service!
you can get free origami at receptionist☺️
Great for singles or couples. Would recommend if you will be staying over for a night to catch an early train at Ikebukuro Station.
This is a second time I stayed at this hotel after had been here couple of years ago.
Never disappointed. The staff was so helpful and had a warm welcome. I like its location the most.
I had two 28" luggages and two carry on bags, walking from the Ikebukuro station didn't feel any tired.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sakura Hotel during my visit to Tokyo and it was an absolute delight. The hotel is conveniently located near Ikebukuro station exit C6 and is incredibly cost-effective. What really blew me away, however, was the staff's warm hospitality - they were so helpful and approachable. I would definitely stay there again!
Nice staff. Little rooms with carpets. The carpet was very dirty. It's unhygienic. A lot of things under the bed. It wasn't clean. The situation is good, not far from metro.
Stayed here in July 2016 with a group of friends. Friendly and helpful staff, small but clean and comfortable rooms, and located very conveniently a mere 5 minutes from Ikebukuro Station, and on top of that the restaurant is good too. Liked it so much that we’re coming back!

Great breakfast. The bathrooms and showers were super clean.
Stayed one night for friend gathering and it was amazing.
Only few minutes walk from Bakrocho Station, with clean room and good restaurant downstairs.
This hostel has a premium vibe to it - I can’t believe it’s only 2 stars. Showers are great, beds are comfy and location is amazing (subway super close). The fact that it has a specialty coffee shop and a bar is a huge plus, and they have some food trucks outside on some days! Highly recommend and would def stay here again 🫰🏼
This is an excellent hostel.
Cons:
4pm-11pm check in time is unusual by international standards.
Towel rental is the highest I have encountered worldwide--400 yen.
The international standard is to include the towel at hostels. 200 yen at most. I ended up using one of my undershirts as a towel when I shower.
The lockers aren't big enough to fit a 40L backpack.
However, the hostel is great. Close...
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at worldwide! Impeccably clean, cool staff, spacious private rooms, nice bar downstairs, etc. I appreciated coming back to this chill neighborhood after nights out in the more high-energy neighborhoods (shinjuku etc). Good transit access to just about everywhere
Great staffs and cozy place.
Some comments criticized the noise, but it was completely within the range of common sense. We're grateful for their timely support with this stay. Thanks!

Capsule Hotel Anshin Oyado Shinjuku
Tokyo, Shinjuku-ku Shinjuku 4-2-10 🧭 Map
Location is second to none. Stone throw away from train station. The ammineties provided were excellent and premises is very clean and tidy. They have basically what you need. Be it shopping or dinning, it is just few steps away.
Very good place to have a good bath and have a good rest if you forgot to book rooms or missed the bus to the other place.
The manga library is a site to behold and the onigiri machine was amusing. That said the room was really hot (and this was late November) and the AC was a tiny box fan that did nothing. I can't imagine what it's like in Summer.
Great location near Shinjuku station. Capsule facilities are better than average. Nice spa and friendly, helpful staff. Good value for budget travel for one night.
I was surprised at how comfortable it was. Many amenities. An artificial onsen. Free breakfast. Not too much snoring. Worth the little money you spend.
An experience for any solo traveller, a taste of old school Japanese hospitality.
Perfectly next to Shinjuku station and airport express bus terminal

almond hostel & cafe Shibuya
Tokyo, Shibuya-ku Motoyoyogicho 1-7 🧭 Map
Maybe one of my new favorite cafes in Tokyo! The food was pretty decent, coffee, wasn’t bad, the tables were big enough to work on, they had wifi, and it wasn’t even that crowded. The slightly rustic vibe added to the ambiance and there’s some other nice lil places to check out in the area too.
Nice cafe, I had the fantastic mushroom cheese sandwich with an Americano (coffee was not as fantastic). The hostel was really clean, with good beds and the staff were super nice and helpful. They were also very accommodating when I made a booking for my friend to join me after the normal check in hours. The location is also pretty good, a 20 minute walk to Shibuya with plenty of cafes and bars on...
It’s a cool capsule/pod hotel with a cafe. It’s clean, very affordable and in a hip neighborhood. It definitely serves its purpose, but you might wake up next morning with body aches and tired feelings from rather poor bed and building construction. Didn’t have a chance to try their cafe in the lobby.
This is one of the best places I've ever stayed in Tokyo. Very budget friendly and clean. The staff is good as well. They are kind. I like the multilingual support. The Cafe in the 1F has delicious cookies. For a breakfast that cookie and coffee will wake you up for work. The Cafe is open from 8 am when most of the near by places opens at 9 am. I had been hopping from place to place with my friend over the last few days and this has easily been the best location yet. Super nice and helpful staff, amazing area and awesome view of the nearby skytree,
very comfortable beds, great coffee lounge, 24/7 access with room card, super cheap even for a longer stay and awesome atmosphere.
Best hostel I have ever stayed.
right by the river, walking distance to stations and close attractions, great value for money
Super chill and brand new cafe/hostel with spacious outside patio. You can take off your shoes and lie down on artificial turf. If you’re lucky, they often have random food truck or some yoga events going on in this cool patio. You should definitely check out this place if you’re around Asakusa or sky tree area. I already invited couple of my friends and they loved it too. :)
My stay in wise owl hostel was short but i enjoyed the place. The staff was approachable even though they cant speak English. The venue was near the train station and lots of convenient stores.
Great hostel with great vibe! Highly recommend. first floor has cafe & bar with delicious craft beer & smoothies. Looking forward to stay again
Not only close to the sightseeing area(Asakusa, skytree), but also quiet and chill at night time.
Highly recommended to stay in dorms which were spacious, had a good bed light and comfy bed.
There was a “home” party with other guests and hostel staff which you can get along with them more.
Had a lovely stay at wise owl.

Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel

Basic capsule hotel. Clean and staff is friendly. Sauna type bath for men, no private showers.
This review is for the gents. The layout of this capsule hotel does an excellent job of minimizing unnecessary noise in the sleep area, which is why I'm giving it such great stars, among other reasons. At least on the men's 7th floor, there were no lockers for dudes to slam open and shut, there was a maze of hallways which increases your chances of your capsule being in a low traffic area, and the...
A nice place to stay, the front staff are very accommodating but I don’t know if they can speak English because I already get used of speaking Japanese. I done my reservation at booking.com and it was easy.
The location is in the heart of Shinjuku a lots of things to do at night. When you enter there is a locker room for your shoes and off course must do the alcohol. Then they will provide you a designated...
Nice for a capsule hotel. Clean. Men have public shower room. Women have private showers. Women and men have segregated floors. Good service.
Perfect for emergency night or for small stay. You have a good shower and bath, there is kind of always space and it is not super expensive. If you miss a train or just want a cheap night or quick night somewhere you can head here
This capsule hotel was a decent capsule experience as a solo traveler. All female floor which was a nice touch. Check in and out was smooth. It's a tad annoying that you are required to check out each day even if you stay consecutive nights. You must pack all you belongings and empty your locker and when you check back in, you are assigned. New locker and capsule for the night.

Nice vibe and delicious food.
I stayed here in November 2019. Very clean but is pricier compared to other hostels. Gives a really excellent breakfast!
We spent four nights here and loved it. Staff were incredibly helpful prior to arriving making amendments to our booking when we had to make last minute changes to our trip. We really enjoyed our breakfast each morning. The hostel is so well situated for exploring the Shibuya area and there's a local train station just around the corner.
First time staying at a hostel and was worth the experience. Staff are friendly, clean beds (I stayed in the female dormitory). Fresh towels provided every day. Shared bathroom facilities well looked after. 10 min walk to Shibuya station so very accessible.
Awesome hostel, loved it. Location is 12 minute walk to Shibuya station, and lots of cool places in between the station and the hostel. The common area are very nice too, and during the day the coffee greets many Japanese people. Everything is clean and nice, don't forget to check the common area on the 6th floor too! A must see hostel in Tokyo, I would definitely recommend to stay there!
Better than most hotels I’ve stayed at, mainly because of the warm and welcoming feeling the environment has. The staff are all exceptional and friendly. If you have any questions or need suggestions they’ll sooner take you than just send you on your way. Not something you can get at a hotel no matter how fancy. Each person is passionate about what they do. Bar and grill workers are too tier. The drinks...
I liked how there was a side door to enter for the hostel, as my attire was not really bar/restaurant style and more of a travelling foreigner, it felt a little weird to have to walk through the bar at night to get to the room. I had a private room with a bunkbed, the shared bathrooms are very nice and clean. The actual shower and toilets were in small private rooms, and the sink area was moreso shared...

It's fine for one night, staff was friendly, various free amenities provided and the location is great. Futons inside capsules were extremely thin though and very hard to sleep on. Lounge spaces could use some deep cleaning. Had to leave most of my luggage downstairs in the reception area which was somewhat inconvenient.
My first experience at a capsule hotel and wow not disappointed. It was very clean and efficient. I was provided with everything I needed for my stay. The size of the capsule was enough for me to sit up I'm 5'3". I'm a type that would be claustrophobic in certain spaces but didn't feel that way here.
Perfect overnight stay for me. I also like the cute decor of pink and anime decor.
Stayed for one night while travelling around Tokyo/Kyoto. It was a fun experience and definitely unique to Japan. Felt quite like staying in a hostel or dormitory. Not very good, but excellent location and value for money.
We had a room for 2 people , it was clean and a reasonable size and had an accessible toilet. The view from the room was amazing. Plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. A couple of rules that you need to follow regarding times and shared facilities, which might not appeal to everyone. However we really enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.
I love this place. Came here in 2017 as well as my two sisters came here in 2018 and 2019 respectively. I'm a Ghanaian by the way. I love everything about the place. It's an amazing place. Great food. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Basically, everything is amazing.
It is facility where international students as well as japans very own students can stay. The place is very scenic and quiet. Has almost everything within itself. And also very clean for a hostel. I did not like one thing about this place is that the bathrooms were common. It was a bit weird for me but later i came to know that it was very common in japanese culture. I had a pleasant stay there.
Nice place for a group trip if you don't mind giving up privacy. Had breakfast there everyday. It's cheap, if that's your thing, but the building closed rather early and you're not allowed in after. Essentially an 11:00 PM curfew. It'll do for a tourist trip.

The location is located very close walking distance to train subway station. The hotel is a great place to reset and clean up in a little jet bath house. I would stay again.
Food and drinks included is a big plus for a quick stay kind of place like this. Capsule quality didn’t feel exactly like the pictures to me but were decent enough for the time I spent there.
Excellent capsule hotel experience, even for someone like me who never spent a night in one before. I really liked the showers/hot tub as well as the lounge. The modern look overall made me feel at home. And excellent service! We were even provided a tour in Spanish since we stated that it was our first time in this type of hotel.
Except for the artificial onsen, it's very clean.
(Artificial onsen has some mold) it also had a wide variety of shampoos, conditioners, hair gel, etc.
The staff was friendly and cleaned the rooms around lunchtime. There was free: soft drinks, unlimited rice with 9 different topings, Miso soup, and raw eggs.
The room was a bit small, but that may be because of my size. Overall, it was worth it, and...
It’s a nice place to experience. Be advised though, Two things:
1) Capsule can get a little hot at night, you can pick up a fan by the elevator.
2) It only has a Public bath which means that you shower naked with other people. There was one semi private bath space but no one used it.
They provide pjs but we decided to wear our own to the capsule and no one minded that.
Even compared to regular full sized hotels this place was really nice, especially for the price. They have instructions in English, the beds are soft and cozy, and there's free drinks (soda, coffee, tea), free miso soup, and free rice with all kinds of fixings if you want breakfast, light dinner, or just a snack. The public bath and hot spring was very nice. And the staff is exceptionally courteous
