Akihabara Bay Hotel (Female Only)
Tokyo, Chiyoda-ku, Kandaneribei-cho 44-4 🧭 Map
It's fine for one night, staff was friendly, various free amenities provided and the location is great. Futons inside capsules were extremely thin though and very hard to sleep on. Lounge spaces could use some deep cleaning. Had to leave most of my luggage downstairs in the reception area which was somewhat inconvenient.
My first experience at a capsule hotel and wow not disappointed. It was very clean and efficient. I was provided with everything I needed for my stay. The size of the capsule was enough for me to sit up I'm 5'3". I'm a type that would be claustrophobic in certain spaces but didn't feel that way here.
Perfect overnight stay for me. I also like the cute decor of pink and anime decor.
Stayed for one night while travelling around Tokyo/Kyoto. It was a fun experience and definitely unique to Japan. Felt quite like staying in a hostel or dormitory. Our suitcases didn't fit in the lockers provided but they were kept downstairs in the reception area and that felt safe. The capsules themselves were quite spacious. The bed was a little hard but I didn't mind. Only complaint was that the...
Very clean and nice place. The structure is very well worked out in how to get your bag with towels, pajamas, hairbrush and toothbrush. Every guest gets a locker and a cabin to sleep in. The locker is pretty small, my backpack fitted, but most other guest had to have their bags in the reception. The showers are clean with good products. I used the laundry machines that are easy and cheep. The location...
Above expectations, very clean with nice design, the capsule is huge and lockers are perfect size for small trolleys.
The price is cheap. Most of the staff speaks a good amount of English. The capsule bed wasn't very comfy but I was expecting that. What really got to me that I decided to give a 3 star in stead of 4 or 5 was the internnet. The internet is really horrible and when it doesn't work at all I tried asking the staff about the internet problem and she told me I should try to go to a different place with wifi...

MyCUBE by MYSTAYS Asakusa Kuramae
Tokyo, Taito-Ku, Kuramae 2-6-7 🧭 Map
I particularly liked the actual cube. It was bigger than a lot of capsule accommodations, with air, tv, radio. Luggage locker was right under the capsule.
The amenities are all there (towels, night gown, and a toothbrush set) and the facilities are clean and easy to use.
The rooms themselves are small, but bigger than the average capsule hotel so I was very satisfied. Although the rooms adjacent are very close so you can't be too loud.
Also location wise it's less than a minute walk to the nearest station and there's a 7 eleven within that same distance...
Sleeping space is actually smaller than expected. They list it as being 2 meters or for tall people, however being 6ft4 I felt cramped seeing as the capsule opens from the side and not the end where the feet are as you kinda of loose that extra wiggle room. In comparison nine hours capsules have a bigger sleeping area. They have a fan, although it’s very weak, so negligible. Overall I didn’t feel hot...

Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel
Tokyo, Shinjuku-ku, Kabukicho 1-2-5 🧭 Map
This review is for the gents. The layout of this capsule hotel does an excellent job of minimizing unnecessary noise in the sleep area, which is why I'm giving it such great stars, among other reasons. At least on the men's 7th floor, there were no lockers for dudes to slam open and shut, there was a maze of hallways which increases your chances of your capsule being in a low traffic area, and the...
A nice place to stay, the front staff are very accommodating but I don’t know if they can speak English because I already get used of speaking Japanese. I done my reservation at booking.com and it was easy.
The location is in the heart of Shinjuku a lots of things to do at night. When you enter there is a locker room for your shoes and off course must do the alcohol. Then they will provide you a designated...
Nice for a capsule hotel. Clean. Men have public shower room. Women have private showers. Women and men have segregated floors. Good service.
Perfect for emergency night or for small stay. You have a good shower and bath, there is kind of always space and it is not super expensive. If you miss a train or just want a cheap night or quick night somewhere you can head here
This capsule hotel was a decent capsule experience as a solo traveler. All female floor which was a nice touch. Check in and out was smooth. It's a tad annoying that you are required to check out each day even if you stay consecutive nights. You must pack all you belongings and empty your locker and when you check back in, you are assigned. New locker and capsule for the night.
As for amenities,...
Cheap and great place to stay! They provide a lot of facilities and amenities for female guest staying. Been here twice and plan to stay again in the future.

Capsule Hotel Anshin Oyado Shinjuku
Tokyo, Shinjuku-ku Shinjuku 4-2-10 🧭 Map
Location is second to none. Stone throw away from train station. The ammineties provided were excellent and premises is very clean and tidy. They have basically what you need. Be it shopping or dinning, it is just few steps away.
Very good place to have a good bath and have a good rest if you forgot to book rooms or missed the bus to the other place.
The manga library is a site to behold and the onigiri machine was amusing. That said the room was really hot (and this was late November) and the AC was a tiny box fan that did nothing. I can't imagine what it's like in Summer.
Great location near Shinjuku station. Capsule facilities are better than average. Nice spa and friendly, helpful staff. Good value for budget travel for one night.
I was surprised at how comfortable it was. Many amenities. An artificial onsen. Free breakfast. Not too much snoring. Worth the little money you spend.
An experience for any solo traveller, a taste of old school Japanese hospitality.
Perfectly next to Shinjuku station and airport express bus terminal

strategic hotel in ikebukuro with a budget cost.
room was good, clean.
love the service!
you can get free origami at receptionist☺️
Great for singles or couples. Would recommend if you will be staying over for a night to catch an early train at Ikebukuro Station.
This is a second time I stayed at this hotel after had been here couple of years ago.
Never disappointed. The staff was so helpful and had a warm welcome. I like its location the most.
I had two 28" luggages and two carry on bags, walking from the Ikebukuro station didn't feel any tired.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sakura Hotel during my visit to Tokyo and it was an absolute delight. The hotel is conveniently located near Ikebukuro station exit C6 and is incredibly cost-effective. What really blew me away, however, was the staff's warm hospitality - they were so helpful and approachable. I would definitely stay there again!
Nice staff. Little rooms with carpets. The carpet was very dirty. It's unhygienic. A lot of things under the bed. It wasn't clean. The situation is good, not far from metro.
Stayed here in July 2016 with a group of friends. Friendly and helpful staff, small but clean and comfortable rooms, and located very conveniently a mere 5 minutes from Ikebukuro Station, and on top of that the restaurant is good too. Liked it so much that we’re coming back!

We stayed here for the experience of staying in a capsule hotel. My 15 year old son was keen to stay in one. We enjoyed our stay and even my husband who is 198cm found the size of the capsule pretty good. It was very clean and we al felt very safe.
As a plus size person my concern is always regarding comfort. It was way beyond my expectations. I didnt feel like I was going to suffocate, and even their large Pajamas fit me (uk size 18)
Very clean and organised. Friendly and welcoming staff. Will be definitely coming back as well as recommending to friends.

Very nice hostel, friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and the cubes have everything you need: USB connection, bed light, hangers, locker. They also have a great kitchen, a nice area to play Nintendo, listen to music or just hang out. An breakfast is also great!
I stayed here for about a week in June 2019, and it was amazing! The facilities were very clean, the beds provided a ton of privacy, and each little bed cubby came with a keyed locker and a smartphone with unlimited data for navigating around Tokyo. The location is really good, just a short walk to the nearest metro station, and I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (hard-boiled eggs and...
A great hostel in a perfect location amongst the hustle and bustle that is Shinjuku. A short walk to public transport and tourist hot spots.
A variety of breads and eggs are provided for breakfast which is a real bonus. Dorms are comfortable and the real kicker is each capsule comes with a tablet with data that you can take with you as you travel. This is quite a social hostel (from my experience...
I spent a week here and enjoyed my stay!
The sleeping rooms are very quiet which was helpful. The bottom pods that are away from the windows are super dark which made sleeping easier.
The staff was very friendly and were very kind by letting me practice my Japanese with them! Whenever I had a need something, they were very accommodating.

Great location.
McDonald’s and pharmacy, convenient stores are 2 mins walk away.

Wi-Fi speed is fast and the share space is very friendly design if you have to work.
They offer lotions, and cream as well as the tooth brush and so on. Even the hair iron. You literally don’t need to bring anything.
I stayed in business cabin for 2 nights.
You can leave your stuff...
Arrived early and staff held onto our luggage for us. The staff is also up pretty late, till around 10-11pm. Location is right in the middle of everything so you can get anywhere in about a 30 minute travel time. Beds are firm which I like but others don't. Got the economy class room, it was small but for the price you can't beat it if you're just looking for a place to come back to and sleep after...
Modern looking capsule rooms and clean washrooms. But there are only 2 bathrooms for the entire hotel. The area with beds is not ventilated and is quite suffocating. The lounge area is good but even the basis nuts are chargeable. Quite expensive based on what they offer.
Not recommended.
It's in the middle of the places where you might want to go but it is only 1 block from the train station so the location is decent.
Capsule quality is pretty high. Generous space in the small lock boxes. Not enough railing to lock your luggage against but seems safe enough.
Layout of whole facility is pretty ergonomic, the cafeteria is pretty large with many options that require additional payment...
Good location right across the bridge from the station. Clean, nice onsen, and helpful staff! Might be a bit noisy if you aren't used to capsule hotels and hostels, but it was fine for me!

If you are looking for a real capsule experience, this is it. Don't go anywhere else. Also, make sure to ask for a suit. Its perfect during carnival, but also for any other conceivable occasion. :-) Men only.
Friendly English speaking boy working at the counter. Good rooms though no AC which means super humid. Low price though and plenty of extras. Some good people seem to frequent the place. Overall good value. Some people might give the place a lower rating but you have to understand that you're staying in Shinjuku at night which is the shadiest place in all of Japan.
For what it is, this place is fine. The concept is a little strange but it works. The location is superb! Some really brilliant places to eat and drink all around.

Tokyo Central Youth Hostel
Tokyo, Shinjuku-ku, Kagurakashi 1-1 Central Plaza 18th Floor 🧭 Map
We had a room for 2 people , it was clean and a reasonable size and had an accessible toilet. The view from the room was amazing. Plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. A couple of rules that you need to follow regarding times and shared facilities, which might not appeal to everyone. However we really enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.
I love this place. Came here in 2017 as well as my two sisters came here in 2018 and 2019 respectively. I'm a Ghanaian by the way. I love everything about the place. It's an amazing place. Great food. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Basically, everything is amazing.
It is facility where international students as well as japans very own students can stay. The place is very scenic and quiet. Has almost everything within itself. And also very clean for a hostel. I did not like one thing about this place is that the bathrooms were common. It was a bit weird for me but later i came to know that it was very common in japanese culture. I had a pleasant stay there.
Nice place for a group trip if you don't mind giving up privacy. Had breakfast there everyday. It's cheap, if that's your thing, but the building closed rather early and you're not allowed in after. Essentially an 11:00 PM curfew. It'll do for a tourist trip.

Both the sauna and the cold bath are old-fashioned and very comfortable in a good way. I personally want a sauna between low and high temperatures.

Had an amazing time at this hostel, was my favourite hostel I stayed at in japan.
Had a great atmosphere, especially in the open bar down stairs.
The dorm rooms made me feel safe, while still having plenty of privacy.
I enjoy walking so it didn’t bother me, but the train station is a fair walk away.
Met some great people and overall had a great time!
Thank you for your hospitality!
Impromptu stay here after missing my bus, but it was a very pleasant experience. It was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. The beds are adequate and there's a lock box for valuables and space under the bed for some things. The shower area and toilet were both clean. Also, the price was definitely right for an impromptu stay.
This hostel is one of the best I’ve stayed in, period! Bunks are comfy with lots of privacy, on the floors are all the amenities you need, cool location. But most of all, the staff are totally awesome. Shout out to Julio in particular, he’s a total champ :)
Great price, good atmosphere. They encourage social events. Facilities are very clean beds are comfy. Never had a line for bathroom or shower. Dryer took longer to dry than we are used to. Great hostel. Very new and clean. Has adequate facilities and decent space. Location is a little far from Shibuya city center but it's okay - it's a good 10-15min walk. 25$ per night with service like this... That is more you need. Hot water, comfortable wide bed as capsule, clean pyjamas and rooms. What else do you need. Especially in case that it's almost right in the centre of Tokyo 10 minutes walk to Tokyo Station.
The capsule was very spacious for me! I could sit up and move around with ease. There is no ac and it got quite stuffy while I was in there. The lockers are small so larger backpacks and suit cases won’t fit but they will lock your bag up down stairs. Would give more stars if there was ac.

Food and drinks included is a big plus for a quick stay kind of place like this. Capsule quality didn’t feel exactly like the pictures to me but were decent enough for the time I spent there.
Excellent capsule hotel experience, even for someone like me who never spent a night in one before. I really liked the showers/hot tub as well as the lounge. The modern look overall made me feel at home. And excellent service! We were even provided a tour in Spanish since we stated that it was our first time in this type of hotel.
Except for the artificial onsen, it's very clean.
(Artificial onsen has some mold) it also had a wide variety of shampoos, conditioners, hair gel, etc.

It’s a nice place to experience. Be advised though, Two things:
1) Capsule can get a little hot at night, you can pick up a fan by the elevator.
2) It only has a Public bath which means that you shower naked with other people. There was one semi private bath space but no one used it.
They provide pjs but we decided to wear our own to the capsule and no one minded that.
Even compared to regular full sized hotels this place was really nice, especially for the price. They have instructions in English, the beds are soft and cozy, and there's free drinks (soda, coffee, tea), free miso soup, and free rice with all kinds of fixings if you want breakfast, light dinner, or just a snack.
