Hotel New Otani The Main

Everything went well except for an issue with our luggage and snowboard, which we sent from the hotel to Narita Airport via Yamato. (黑貓宅急便)Unfortunately, the luggage was damaged beyond repair and is no longer usable
The complex is humongous! So many services and restaurants, you cannot make up your mind on which restaurant to choose. The buffet dinner in the restaurant at 17th floor is amazing. The Japanese garden is a gem!!!
The outdoor pool was closed and there was a 50,000 yen change to use a gym with an indoor pool. We stayed in the “Main” - very nice, but the bathrooms are a wee bit dated and somewhat crowded
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk for two different underground stations - but not difficult to get too. Staff arranged a cab to the airport for us
Additionally, one of the Yamato staff in the airport  had a very poor attitude  We were not satisfied with how they handled the situation
The best things about it are: the gorgeous Japanese garden - just lovely. A newspaper was delivered every morning , which was a treat

Good room and bathroom space. In a business district so it’s a distance to the typical tourist attractions I guess. But it’s near the metro! Will come back if I’m visiting Tokyo.
The hotel is in a quiet area but there are some nice bars and cafes nearby as well as a Family Mart across the street for anything you need
Housekeeping ladies were very helpful and friendly. Short walk to train stations and family marts around.
A great hotel if you are attending a show at the Tokyo Dome, as it is just 10 minutes walk away
The view from the window was of some industrial building, with huge, humming, industrial fans. There was a line for breakfast - we had to wait 20-30 minutes for a free table
As for the room itself - it is neither bad nor good - an ordinary room in a four-star hotel. A good bed with a comfortable mattress

Be aware that there are two towers and that the lobby is on upper floors for both hotels. This might be a surprise for some travelers. The gradens are very nice and the breakfast was well worth it
Stayed in room 3018. Big clean room with awsome view. Service was exceptional. Short walking distance to a few differe t subway stations. Will definitely come back here again if I ever revisit tokyo.
Nice, clean, conveniently located hotel with excellent service. There's some outstanding restaurants in the hotel and hotel is close to several metropolitan areas of Tokyo with great restaurants
Friendly staff, nice and well kept rooms. The hotel is huge and the garden is very beautiful. Location is not bad either, it's just a short walk to the subway station.
The employees are very helpful. To travel to food and shopping places you will need to catch the subway. They have restaurants and bars but expensive
Bar Capri had a reasonable price for food and if you smoke cigars that's a good place with higher end quality drinks

I visited this hotel in 1980 , and staying for 4 Nights with my Father. Very pleasant hotel, nice staff. It is an old Hotel now but still worth for staying. Its name was : Akasaka Tokyu Hotel at that time
I visited the restaurant here in March 2018 , it is 40 years later, still nice , only the name is now : Akasaka Excell Hotel Tokyu. The restaurant was very nice. Still a very nice Hotel today
Excellent hotel just opp the Akasaka- Mitsuke station. Easy to Navigate way around Check in was smooth and staff are helpful and very professional. Room clean and had a bath which I love
Very beautiful rooms, excellent and friendly staff. Very clean and affordable. There is a smart phone included in some rooms that you can take out with you and it's completely free.
Great location in front of Akasaka-mitsuke Station. Room was rather spacious for the price (japan's standard), breakfast was okay, nothing special but quite good.
Breakfast nice and typical for Japan. I would love to stay here again

Lovely hotel with exceptionally accommodating staff. Most visitors are from rural Japan, not international; made for a great experience as an American. Awesome top floor bar. Cleaning staff works tirelessly. 5 stars.
The rooms were great and the staff were very helpful. It was pretty central to everything we wanted to see. It was easy to get to the metro as well.
Our room was great! We had 3 beds for 3 adults. The staff is very curtious and the food at the Cattleya Restaurant & Cafe is great in taste and presentation! ?
We stayed in their refurbished room which is clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The room in the 21st is the premium rooms. It smells and feels like a 4 to 5 star hotel. Toilets still feels slightly dated. The rooms have no air conditioning but heaters
Although renovation is a little out date but this is a proper large scale hotel. Rooms are quite reasonably size, breakfast is good. U can choose buffet if u wake up early enough or American breakfast if u wake up late

Great, central location. Very small room, but if you're out and about all day it doesn't matter much. Breakfast was okay, a mix of western and Japanese.
The room was on the 21st floor magnificent views, daily housekeeping, climate control temperature, toothbrushes with shaving devices daily tea and coffee making facilities, radio, TV with local and premium channels, free smartphone, and other services
Quieter side of Tokyo yet close to convenience stores, dining, metro station and Imperial Palace. Room is not too big but very clean and comfortable. Has all the toothbrush, cleansing lotion, comb etc.
2 restaurants, a Breakfast buffet and continental is closer to scrambled eggs sausages vegetables juices, soup with oysters Amen. Opposite the hotel shop family market
Great hotel with attentive service and reasonable prices. Located a 5-minute walk from Nagatacho subway and 15 minutes from Jr Yotsuya
Great hotel. Tokyo metro is quite close by. There's a convenient store in front the hotel. I will consider to stay here again.

The woman who was working at the gym is the absolute cutest. But make sure you don’t wear your shoes near the pool only slippers! It would be a nice addition if they had razors available in the locker room though
Large windows allow you to enjoy the view as much as you want. Convenience store and pharmacy in the same building. The amenities and facilities were also great
Since it was a weekday, the club lounge was empty and I was able to relax and have a great time 🍷 At night, I walked around watching the illumination around the hotel and it was very beautiful 🎄🌉 Breakfast was also slow
There is also a BOSE Bluetooth speaker to play your favorite music. Basic room service can be ordered with the built-in tablet, so I think it is good that you do not have to call
I had breakfast in the room, so called room service, and it was very tasty. Anyway, it looks great, so I think it is worth staying here
Corner room with a great view, the best room

It’s a great choice for couples & families (with kids)! Amenities & service was top notch & the hotel’s location makes it very convenient for commute via train, cab or otherwise! It’s a rather safe area to take a stroll around, in the night time too! Breakfast buffet was good but could be better! Simply put, it was premium…just like its name!
Excellent location which is just across the road at the closest train station. Hotel staff is very helpful and kept your luggage even days before you checked in
Conveniently located around many eateries and convenient stores
We didn’t engage any services, but they provide drinks, hair gel, toothpaste, etc at the counter for Free. Location is very close to Yotsuya Chome station. Very clean and it is a nice place for me
There are just few cons, you need to get what you need in the lobby (slippers, toothbrush…), and the hotel won’t provide bottles of water. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends
The room size is relatively big than other hotels which has enough space for opening 2 luggages. There’s a sofa and small table in the room so I can work smoothly there

The location is good, access from every metro station in front of the building, the staff is well trained, cleaning and corona measures such as the breakfast area are well equipped and the interior is also classic and unified
Good hotel! Really! Room is small, but you know that already from the description. It is small, but there is enough space to leave your bags and stuff around, and still have enough space to “breathe”
Bathroom is really new and normal. Room was clean and bed / pillows were super soft. Hotel stuff was nice and you have a shelf with free drinks near the reception
About 10min walk from akasaka mitsuke station with some medium slopes, but totally manageable. Free face masks, feet masks and various amenities which is a big bonus. Spacious rooms.
Great views of the park, nice location and the hotel is nicely styled. The carpet had its days so hopefully they clean them better or replace them soon
In the back streets to the south east of the hotel there are some fantastic little ramen places and of course there are convenience stores a-plenty along the 246 at the front of the hotel

There's a Shabu Shabu restaurant with reasonable price and quality downstairs
The room came equipped with a washing machine, kettle, microwave, hot plate and hair dryer. It was exceptionally clean and bathroom and was perfect for the purpose of the trip, with high pressure water in the shower
Excellent location for tour around Tokyo, within 10 minutes down the main road from JR Yotsuya station (along the JR Cental line between Shinjuku and Tokyo)
This hotel is in the perfect location for catching the train to explore the culture and sights of Tokyo. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance not to mention karaoke rooms
Hotel had a good location, it was less crowded than other places in tokyo. The hotel room itself was not really spectaculair. Shower could use some upgrades and also the kitchen
The thing that I liked the most is that the room had a washing machine and dryer

The vending machines however are located on a few smoking floors and as soon as you get off the elevator, you get a whiff of stuffy smoky air. Better to buy your drinks before getting to the hotel if you are a non smoker
The room is a little small for a one or two person double bed, but you really can't beat 8000-11000 yen/night during holiday season in the middle of downtown Tokyo
Japanese style hotel. Room is little bit small. Location is very good, close to Akasakamitsuke station. There are many kind of shops, various kinds of food restaurants, convenient stores, pachinkos, etc.
It's close to the subway station and the room is pretty compact. Need to turn on the fridge before using, because the power is turned off when not in use
There is a pet shop and cafe nearby, and as well a BIC Camera that has duty free shipping for alcohol, electronics, and everyday consumables
If you're planning on renting a car there's a parking garage next to the building, and a motorcycle parking lot nearby at the major intersection

Our road had a wonderful izakaya, a fantastic ramen place, and a gem of a breakfast cafe on it, as well as the obligatory 7-elevens, and was very close to the Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens
Friendly and professional staff. Onsen is relaxing with a nice view. You can enjoy free ice-bar in the public area after using the Onsen. Room is tiny but comfy! I love the lighting and design of the room
I absolutely *loved* our stay here. From the rooftop onsen, with a fabulous views across Tokyo, to the lovely little extras (like the free ice-cream after the onsen, and 10pm treats)
The entrance and lobby are just beautiful, a calm oasis after the madness of Tokyo. The location is perfect - far enough away from the busiest streets to be quiet at night, but close enough to be in the thick of things
Amazing Shinjuku day & night view from the room! If you’re travelling with many luggages, may not be suitable for you since room is not spacious and location is not close to subway station
Our room was tiny, but we knew this making the booking - I would advise paying close attention to the room size, so that you know what you're getting when you make the booking

Great place for resting. You have to pay extra for early check in. They don't speak good English, but they do their best .
No-nonsense hotel with utility. Very helpful staff and located in close proximity to amenities and stations. A little rough around the edges for an English speaker but the staff was really helpful.
Easy to get too and from great service and nice rooms small bit that is the standard in Tokyo comfortable for one guewt very small for 2.
A"Double bed" is very tiny, if you are a couple, you will definitely need to upgrade. Staff we very friendly

The check-in and out smoothly, staff friendly and the location central. Will stay there again if coming to Tokyu.
Go into any Tokyo place knowing it’ll be tighter than you’re used to and it’ll be fine. We paid for breakfast, but it was a bit average. Lots of options but they didn’t compare to nearby food places, which are EVERYWHERE
Staff were helpful and very friendly, the room is little, but so comfortable and has everything you need. The washer dryer is such a convenient feature and was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here
Close to train lines, walkable to so many shops and the famous Shinjuku 3D cat. Directly outside were plenty of restaurants and bars and an old school vibe. We felt very safe even late at night
Perfect room for us to stay as a couple exploring Shinjuku! Close to beautiful gardens, a must visit, the greenhouse is so beautiful and a lovely coffee shop in gardens too
you’re close to shopping, food, rail and subway stations. They helped us send our luggage ahead to Kyoto and it was a really smooth process

Location is very close to the metro. In the suit there is a very spacious bathroom and it’s comfortable to place all cosmetics devices
The hotel also provides pyjamas, free sake in the room, coffee and doughnuts at 1st floor
I left my charger in the room last week and the hotel is kindly holding it until I come to stay next time, which normally you wouldn't expect from a hotel
Good service and comfortable rooms at a decent price. The single rooms are very small but that's Tokyo for you. Excelsior cafe downstairs which is decent
2 minutes walk from nearest station which is served by 5 lines - great to get around the city. Rooms are very small, even for Tokyo, but expected for the price
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, there is a cafe on the bottom floor of the hotel which we had an included free breakfast which was delicious

I appreciate the service and would recommend to other travellers
Location is pretty good in the centre of town about 900m from the train station. Staff were pretty attentive with requests, though the room service maids really should be there 24 hours a day in terms of service
The breakfast is alright, better in quality than the small buffet style as it comes in a prepared set. Pillow is at about the right height and no complaints about the sheets
Everytime I come to Japan I've been using this hotel for convenience and price. This year we came and the room was not what we expected. After talking with the staff they quickly resolved the issue with no fuss
If you just want a place to sleep, this is a pretty good hotel that fits that bill. Breakfast wasn't included or offered so if you want that sort of thing, you may want to look elsewhere
You get what you pay for in regards to size for a single room. The hotel is relatively close to JR Shinjuku station and stations close to it on Tokyo Metro or other lines

Bed was comfortable and had a control panel so you could switch off all lights from the bed. It also had a radio player, and aux so you could play your own music from the speakers. All in all - zero complaints
Laundry services are offered for ¥1000 which I thought was worth it. The room itself was very nice, the bathroom was very large, especially the shower room
Otherwise, it was clean, had everything needed, and a great shower. They had an elevator so that was great. Be prompt! No shoes in the room really
The location is great, with many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, as well as two festival squares
The room was small but had enough room. There were three of us, so three beds. One bed was FREEZING, one was warm but on wheels, and one was both. The pillows were hard as rocks
It's within walking distance from Shinjuku, or you can take the Marunouchi line as the Shinjuku-Gyoenmae stop is very close by. I found the staff to be really helpful and kind

Very enjoyable stay. Location was not the most central and nearer to business center. Noise from the road is also quite audible. But otherwise everything was perfect.
The facilities are clean and the service attitude is perfect. The room is very spacious for Tokyo. The surrounding area is quite convenient. It is located between Shinjuku and Ginza
5hrs to go home and they arranged for an extension for our room (at a reasonable fee), helped us with taxis and every day, checked to make sure our stay was top notch 2) Location Its a 30 second walk from a station that connects to 5 lines
It's rare to find such a large room in Tokyo. The price-performance ratio is perfect. It's also convenient to travel. The subway station is basically right in front of the hotel
(When we wanted to change rooms, the staff said so) 2/ If you stay consecutively, it is not recommended to order breakfast, because the hotel is not a buffet style, there are only European and Japanese set meals every day, and the content is almost unchanged
The location is very good, there is a subway station downstairs, three stops from Ginza and two stops from Omotesando, and there is a 7-11 convenience store downstairs. The room was cleaned very cleanly every day

The staff is fantastic and very helpful. The room is a good size and the mattress is comfy. The room has a ton of amenities like a back massaging pillow, toiletries like disposable razors, aftershave, etc
It's in a great location with some amazing food seconds from the front door. They have umbrellas on hand if you need them. Overall a fantastic experience and I will definitely stay with them again
