The AIM Patong Hotel

If you are wanting to stay right in the middle of Patong where it’s loud and busy then this hotel is for you. However, we found it very overwhelming as you could hear the noise from the Maui Thai stadium, the busy road and the markets below from inside the hotel room. The bathroom windows couldn’t be shut so the smell from the markets would come into the room also (seafood smells). The bedding felt damp and dirty. They didn’t provide any hand soap and the cleanliness of the room was terrible. The aircon couldn’t be left on while you left the room so after being out in the heat all day the room would be hot on return. Unfortunately we ended up moving hotels within 2hours of arrival.
However the staff were lovely and pleasant despite all this.

Was there a week ago, power tripped(blackout) and water shortage for 3 days straight, got a compensation of an extended 3 hours stay before check-out as no refund was allowed.

They blame that there was an accident at the nearby street that caused the hotel to have power fault.(Other hotels nearby didn't even have any issue) Not sure to cry or laugh, a guy staff was very rude too when we asked about the water shortage. Really think the hotel need to have a makeover and do a follow-up check on their hotel regularly to avoid all this electricity/water mishap. That's the basic amenity a hotel should be providing.

Out of my 4 day stay, 3 days hotel having issue. Will also be good to put some torchlight at the reception counter so that customer can use them when they are going up/down or in the pitch black hotel room.

Apart from that, hotel distance to Patong night life is just a stone throw away, quite noisy downstairs but still reasonable. Rooftop pool was very clean and have quite a nice view.

A mark from lipstick was left on one of the pillows and they charged me 500baht to clean it. Scamming, rip off merchants. Stay away

I can not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean & nice room.
The welcome of the staff included a pricelist for the inventory of the room in case you damage something. There are even things like a coffee cup on that list, i've never seen something like this before. The rooms are very dirty. The room we got at first had lots of dirty spots on the sheets in the bed (they said the sheets were changed but the laundry service didn't clean them properly). The bathroom and the floor were cleaned superficially if they were cleaned at all. The staff was helpful and offered another room which was slightly better than the first one. The windows do not close properly so you can listen to the loud traffic noise all day and night. Also the speakers of the boxing arena next to the hotel are very loud, you can follow the fights auditorily. In case you managed to fall asleep either the alarm in your neighbour's room is gonna wake you up because you can hear it through the wall or the steps and conversations in the hallway will. The rooms appear to be nice at the first look but the second look reveals lots of small damages and dirty spots. Our shower head bearly worked but that wasn't too bad because the drain was also blocked so the amount of water coming out of the shower head was just fine. The pool on the rooftop is my only positive point, it was actually quite nice.
