The Met is a perfectly good hotel in a good location in Izmir. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff-- like most in Turkey-- are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is clean and attractive.
The only downside is that it is a few blocks from most of the action in Izmir. There are a lot of hotels in Izmir, and, while there is nothing wrong with the Met, you can find very similar hotels that are probably better located.

The first impression of the room was the smell of stale smoke. The door would lock and so we were given a physical key (as a posed to a key card) to lock up when leaving. Parking wasn’t all that easy either, as we were on a busy road and could only leave the vehicle out side to unload luggage before moving it to an adjacent road else where. Had a very poor nights sleep due to the noise of the road, as the glass was not sound proofed at all.

It was our 4th time in the hotel and we always enjoy being in Met Hotel. Already the welcome makes you feel coming home. No matter if you speak Turkish, German or English, the people are friendly and supportive at any time. Not to forget the outstanding breakfast with the excellent service. Thank you, we are very much looking forward to our next Izmir visit.

Very nice rooms in central area but watch to ask for a turkish coffee at their good breakfast because it will be charged as extra

We stayed a couple of days in Izmir for tourism. All the staff at the hotel were extremely professional and kind to us. The breakfast is excellent and the location of the hotel is very convinient for tourism because it is placed in the center of the city, close to all kind of transportation media. We higly recommend this place!

I call them to ask for reservation , she confirmed availability and asked me to send an email, then I said I have items that I need to put in the hotel freezer, she said I will answer you by e-mail.
5 minutes later she sent an email saying that we rejected your reservation because you can't use the hotel freezer!!!!!
