JA The Resort - JA Lake View Hotel

The spacious rooms and our suite with a private pool were the best parts of our stay at the Lake View Hotel in JA Resorts Dubai. The cleaning staff did a great job and were really helpful.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience wasn’t as good. Despite booking well in advance for our large family, the check-in was slow and frustrating. We picked this hotel because of the aqua park, but it’s actually far away, and you need to take a shuttle bus to get there. It’s better to stay at one of the other 2 hotels closer to the park.

The “no food from outside” rule was a pain, especially since the room service food was pricey and not that tasty. Breakfast was also a letdown, with long lines to get into the buffet. While we liked the rooms, the rest of the experience wasn’t great, and we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

I recently stayed at lake view hotel and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Despite booking a deluxe room, we were initially given a standard room and had to wait over an hour before receiving the correct room.

The most troubling issue was the cold water. Despite calling reception multiple times, the water remained cold, causing significant discomfort for our children and my pregnant sister. A technician arrived two hours later, but only inspected one bathroom and left without addressing the issue in the other room. The water stayed cold and had to shower the kids with freezing water which is unacceptable for a 5 stars hotel. In addition one of our connected room had a bad smell coming from the AC.

To top it off, we received a paper under our door reminding us to check out on time. Given the mentioned issue, this reminder felt particularly inconsiderate.

Considering the amazing place and views and services, these issues should be taken into consideration to be addressed by the management to improve.

I have been to various hotels and resorts in multiple countries and stayed in venues ranging from 3 stars to 5 stars but i have never once encountered a stay in what’s supposed to be a 5 star resort but the experience was that of a 3 star max
1) it took them 1 hour to find a “clean room” for us to stay in.
They tried to give us multiple rooms that were filled with stains in the sheets, bed and tables and even the best option they offered us required me to stay with the cleaning staff for and extra 30 mins to make sure they clean properly as the room was not in a good condition
2) the restaurant booking staff, concierge and generally most staff we dealt with are un professional to say the least
3) going to the pool it was a challenge to find a clean towel (one of the most annoying replies for any cleanness related issue all the staff weather room cleaning or pool towel guys gives you the same answer “ its not dirty its just stains” as if stains are something desirable)
4) you are not allowed to bring food from out side which is understandable but if you like to have lunch at between 4-6 pm you better not think about it as most restaurants are not operational during this time ( except a couple of bars that all serve the same 3 options).

I would like to note that its just my first day staying at this resort (still 2 nights to go)

We had to wait over an hour before receiving the correct room.

To top it off, we received a paper under our door signed by the assistant manager reminding us to check out on time. Given the mentioned issue, this reminder felt particularly inconsiderate. Although i was promised with a late checkout but will not accept even if it offered.

The resort has outstanding facilities and indeed a must-try for families opting for fun and relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the beach and water activitites for the kids. Our room and hotel areas are very clean and well-maintained. Our stay could have been perfect if some staff could have been a bit pleasant to us. The reception staff (May) who did our check-in process sounded very rude/ not pleasant when asked questions about outside food policy and late check-outs - which we understand. I was just asking questions, yet her answers were very sarcastic and not truly what you would expect to those who welcome guests in a hospitality setting. Furthermore, she has accused me of lying/not including kids in the reservation yet it was in mentioned in the original booking - her attention to details and personality needs some work. Despite this, the resort buggy drivers, housekeeping and concierge staff were really pleasant and wonderful. Overall, we had a good stay in the hotel but some staff needs some customer service/ personality training.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel recently and was quite impressed with several aspects of my experience. The room was wonderful, offering a beautiful view of the pool and lake. The breakfast selection was exquisite, featuring a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and meats. Despite being quite full in the morning, the staff quickly assisted us in finding seating.

While the morning staff at breakfast were notably helpful, I found the receptionist and concierge desk to be lacking in politeness and friendliness, which is crucial as they are the first impression of the hotel. In the hospitality industry, it's important to understand that a quick smile to new arriving guests sets a positive mood.

The hotel offers great facilities, with the exception of the golf course. We booked 18 holes but encountered issues with the availability of rented equipment, which was not as stated on the website. Additionally, the marshals on the golf course were overly aggressive in rushing us from the start, insisting that we 'hurry up' despite being within the intended time frame for completing the course. This behavior was particularly disappointing on such a special occasion as my anniversary.

Overall, my experience at the hotel was mixed. While the room, view, and breakfast were delightful, the interactions with staff and the experience at the golf course left much to be desired. I hope that the hotel management will address these issues to maintain the reputation of the JA hotel golf course."
