Pirin Golf Hotel & Spa in Bansko

The hotel has potential but it’s in desperate need of renovation. The food is very low quality and there were multiple options at lunch and dinner that were clearly not fresh. We stayed at the downtown apartments that were very basic but okay, however no one came to clean the room and bring fresh towels/robes. The indoor pool has an unpleasant smell. The spa overall is basic and not very clean. The positives are the beautiful views of the mountain and fresh air. Wouldn’t recommend unless it has a renovation and an improvement of quality of service.

Avoid Staying - very dated and terribly managed hotel. The location is however beautiful, surrounded by mountains, but not really views from the hotel room or restaurant.

We had a very poor experience at Pirin Golf Hotel & Resort and I cannot recommend it. This is absolutely not a 5-star hotel, it's more of a 3 star.

The hotel is very dated and poorly maintained – paint peeling off the walls, dirty carpets with a bad smell, dark corridors with dated furniture, and a generally neglected feel.

Our room was unacceptable: the bed was rock hard, the pillows and sheets looked filthy, and the balcony was tiny (about 1m wide), rusted, covered in bird droppings, and facing directly into other rooms – making it completely unusable.

The bathroom had only one towel, the phone didn’t work, and the tea/coffee sachets were charged extra, which is shocking for a so-called 5-star hotel (especially as we were on half-board).

Housekeeping was poor – our room wasn’t serviced at all until 3pm when someone knocked to ask if we wanted it cleaned.

The “upgrade” we were given from a 2-bedroom apartment to a hotel room was in fact a downgrade. We only changed the booking because one of our group couldn’t travel, yet despite booking directly with the hotel 10 days in advance, they claimed no availability in smaller apartments. In reality, Booking.com was showing multiple options available for significantly lower prices. When questioned, staff offered no explanation and no alternatives.

The spa was equally disappointing – missing tiles, sauna not working, no staff available to provide towels, and the reception desk cluttered with rubbish.

The only positive is the remote location, surrounded by beautiful mountains, but unfortunately you cannot enjoy the views from the rooms or any of the public areas.

Service desk was ok, although nobody seems to smile, no porter service or showing to the rooms, so you handle your own bags. That's ok, since we are mobile but again not a 5 star experience.

Overall, this hotel feels like a badly managed, 15-year-old property that has not been updated, yet it charges 2 times the price of better 4-star options in Bansko. Save your money – avoid staying here.

The hotel is a joke. Whatever I say it will not be enough. I spent 4 days there and we checked in at 7 pm the first day because the rooms were not clean ! Moreover, we had the eaxct same food for 4 days in a row, the staff is inadequate, absolutely zero covid-19 measures, the SPA centre was located about 500-600 meters away from where we were accommodated. The service is complete disaster, whenever you go to the restaurant there were no forks, plates, knives, glasses or even napkins. Therefore, we had to ask every single time and then wait for about 5-10 minutes until someone brings it. If you say something to whoever, they just answer that they are from a catering company or are new staff.

To sum up, do not go there guys, seriously. There are nice views but that's it. It is not worth the money, there are much better hotels in Bansko that actually worth the money.
