Venus Beach Hotel

I would not define it as 5 star .
We had some issues in our room (cockroaches) , We went to the reception and talked politely about the issue and the guy at the reception was rude and he acted like it’s something normal .
But than the next day we spoke with the manager and she was nice she apologised , gave us another room . The rest of the staff was okay and helpful . The bathroom not so clean . The view from the bar , from our room is beautiful , the pool is nice , the beach is super . You can catch the sunset from the hotel and it’s pretty amazing . 🌅

The rooms are very good and can't fault the service. We did have ants appear in our room after some room service. I would also add for some odd reason after cleaning the room the old towels kept being left in the room.

Otherwise a very good hotel if visiting Paphos. Only 12 euros to the harbour or old town by taxi.

This hotel has the potential to be a 5 star, but most definitely is not. The location is good, the bar is nice and the rooms are spacious, but that is where the positives end.
The balconies are far too small for more than one person to sit on comfortably.
Our bathroom extractor did not work and despite reporting it early on, nothing was done.
Cleaning was cursory and after 5 nights we had to ask for clean sheets.
The pool is far too small for the size of the hotel and there are not enough sunbeds. Even at half capacity, it was a struggle to find any.
The decor is old and poorly maintained. Corridor carpets are filthy, walls are marked and badly painted. There are several trip hazards in pedestrian areas.
The worst part was the food. The quality and variety was woeful and everything was cold. On the first night I developed food poisoning and was very ill for several days. The staff have no concept of correct reheating and maintenance temperatures. I suspect that leftovers are carried over from one meal to the next.
Despite the advertisement, there is no a la carte restaurant.
Drinks service at the table was slow which meant that drinks often arrived after we had finished eating.
As a result, we had no alternative but to eat out every evening which defeated the object of paying for half board.
All in all, as a qualified hotelier and caterer, I would currently rate this hotel as 3 stars.
Bad management, inadequate facilities, poor maintenance and lack of proper staff training, together with improper food hygiene and safety measures all need to be addressed urgently if this hotel has any chance of elevating it to where it purports to be. A large building and a chandelier in the foyer is not enough.

I spent 3 nights at the hotel with my wife and baby son. All in all, the hotel is reasonable, but I would not define it as 5 stars. Although the staff is very nice and helpful, the hotel facilities need an urgent upgrade. Mainly what disturbs is the lack of air conditioning, both in the hotel and in the rooms. Leaks in the shower, the small elevators that you have to push yourself into. Food is nice overall, but could be more diverse. The gym was very disappointing, it has a lot of space but no equipment at all, not even one TV for the treadmill. The prices are of course according to a 5-star hotel, but the value you get for the money you pay is simply not worth it. The funniest thing that happened was that I received an email that it was impossible to give us one big bed, while at the reception I was told that my bed was one big bed, and in the end I got 2 connected beds. The location of the hotel is quite central which is nice, and the promenade is simply stunning. Thanks for the hospitality but I would recommend the place to be upgraded a little.

Rooms good & clean. Overall Service good. Food decent, always fresh but not varied. Hotel is old. Spa needs serious refurbishment & certain areas of hotel too especially when you look at the building frome the pool area. The beach is a public beach & not part of the hotel. You need to pay for sunbeds & umbrellas. The beach towels are worn & stained. The outdoor furniture in the bar needs replacing or a good coat of paint. The view is nice especially sunset.
