A very decent hotel in 9-10 minutes walking distance from the central station. You see many different types of people in the area around the central station, but this is how it is in Hamburg. The hotel itself is clean with decent rooms and good quality breakfast. Seeing the area, we are happy we chose this hotel, it was better than other hotels close by the central station.

Close to metro, 15 minutes walk to Altstadt. Clean and comfortable room, big bathroom. We waited in line for a long time for check in and breakfast.

Pleasant stay at the Rubin. Very comfortable bed, great staff, excellent breakfast, good wi-fi, nice public areas. Bathrooms are a bit hit-and-miss - had to change rooms as 1st shower did not work, and much prefer a walk-in shower as climbing out of a slippery bath gets riskier every year! As pointed out, the walk to the Haptbahnhof down Steindamm is not the best, though I never felt unsafe, HOWEVER one block back there is a much quieter route to the centre (via Hansa Platz), and the use of the Lohmuhlenstrasse U-bahn is both closer and quieter than the Haptbahnhof.

My experience with your hotel was extremely disappointing.
I made a reservation for ten days but due to personal reasons, I was unable to travel. Despite canceling just one day late(3 days), your hotel charged me the full amount for the reservation, which was a substantial sum. This action feels highly unfair and more akin to theft than a reasonable cancellation policy.
I contacted the hotel several times to discuss this issue, but unfortunately, they refused to refund my money. This strict and unfair approach has left me feeling very disheartened.
I want to warn potential customers that the cancellation policies of this hotel are extremely rigid and unjust.
Furthermore, it appears that BOOKING has no oversight over hotel cancellation policies and offers no consumer protection. Wouldn’t it have been more reasonable to charge a percentage of the fee or perhaps the cost of one or two days to cover the hotel's loss? This approach would have certainly been fairer and more logical.
I hope this review leads to an improvement in the hotel's policies and BOOKING’s oversight, so that other customers do not face similar issues in the future.

I stayed for 4 nights with work. The rooms are clean and tidy. Had an over the bath shower. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. Rooms a quote free from notice of the neighbours. I asked for an ironing board, and this was promptly delivered. Breakfast was really good with a fine selection. The scrambled egg was very good indeed. In a good location for the office.

Nice hotel, very central to the city of Hamburg. Prices for the rooms are very affordable. We did not take breakfast because we like to eat out and in the neighborhood there are several nice restaurants, bars and cafés. Unfortunately the personnel does not always speak English and communication can become difficult. The parking underneath is incredibly expensive (18€ a day). Find another solution if you come by car.

Fast and friendly check-in, very spacious room with bath tub and shower, very comfortable bed, huge variety of food for breakfast and great location with direct access to public transport and 15 minutes walk to main train station

The hotel is located on a busy street - a lot of fruit/vegetable shops, kebab restaurants and oriental sweet shops, with a big crowd of people during work hours. It was such an interesting experience walking from the city center (railway station) back to the hotel.
The bed and pillows in our room were comfortable, the sound insulation was good (almost no sound from the street or hailway). We had a small fridge as well. The only thing missing in our room was a water cooker (having coffee in our room would have been really nice).
The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Great variety of tasty food (including smoked salmon and other type of fish). The staff was walking around trying to give us everything we needed, and they also served us delicious coffee. The view from the breakfast area was on the street, and it was interesting watching the people down there.

Good modern hotel, with good rooms, but the bath was too high, lacking grab rails and was a bit slippery when showering (a real shower would have been better). The breakfast was perfect. Checking in, however, was a bit chaotic, but these are the times following the end of Corina virus lockdown, and hopefully that will change for the better. Also it was not so easy to find the toilet's when in the bar, but we later found them on the floor above (better if there were toilet's on the same floor).
