We stayed here for Christmas and could not have been more delighted. Our room is charming and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The hotel is just steps from the main train station, and a short scenic walk to old town & historic sites. We had such a lovely time here, and we’ll definitely stay here when we return to Munich. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel, which is very charming. The service was impeccable, with a special mention to Josip at the reception, who is extremely welcoming and gave me great advice for visiting Munich. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute walk from the city center and three minutes from the central station :) I highly recommend it without hesitation!

Loved the hotel and the location! One minute from the trains and a few minutes walk to Marienplatz. I found breakfast expensive but my room was lovely(except the toilet was too close to the bath!). Overall a great place and I would stay there again.

Location is the best. Stayed 3 nights during new year period. Opposite the hotel still some constructions going on. Other than that it was perfect. Many supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Entrance to main station is right in front.
Rooms are very clean and spacious. We got connecting rooms as requested. Love the decoration of the hotel and the rooms. They are beautiful and functional. Breakfast was great value. You can order eggs, bacon, weisswurst. They were made fresh and delicious. I especially like the various selections of tea. And the venue was very pretty.

The Excelsior by Geisel is a 3 star hotel that has the look and feel being better.
Location is nice as you are a minute from the public transit and a 5 min walk from the main Munich train station. 15-20 minutes from all the major attractions. However, that is the best things to say about the hotel.
Everything else is average. I had a double room deluxe. Shower is super tiny with no space to move.For daily room service, the only thing done was folding my bedsheets. No elite status is honored as I am a I preferred Titanium status member. No room upgrade, no late checkout given, no food or beverage credit was provided, not even a free bottle water given. In fact, the mini bar charges you 2 euros per an item. A hotel that “nickel and dimes” you for everything.
At the time I was there, only 1 elevator was working, no notice was given. That was frustrating.
I came here for the location and hotel status, i cannot say both of those conditions were honored. If you want an average hotel, this works, if you want something more; stay elsewhere.

Positives: The hotel is located close to old city which is a plus. The rooms and the overall hotel has a pleasing old-fashioned interior which is unique. The breakfast service staff is very helpful. Price is reasonable.
Negatives: the neighborhood can *feel* a bit unsafe at night. The rooms need soundproof windows to block out the noise of late night parties. Our sleep was repeatedly interrupted by drunk people screaming outside. The quality of the pillows was below average. The reception staff could use more training in customer service. For example, at checkout the staff didn't ask us how our stay was.

At first I was very disappointed, first I chose it because it said it had airport shuttle, but it ment that they could call a limo service for you that you'd have to pay extra. There seemed to be some confusion with my reservation and they gave me a very small single room. When I went to complain at the desk they very kindly gave me an "upgrade" to a double "deluxe" room. I didn't notice the deluxe part, but at least the room was a decent size. Nice ammenities, but the scale in the bathroom didn't work. I would have liked to try the Vinotheke restaurant, because it smelled really good, but I only stayed one night and had a previous engagement. The personel were very nice.
