Maritim Hotel Munchen

Convenient location to the train, but the area immediately surrounding the hotel is not great from the homeless on the street, the beggars, and the strip club. Didn't feel very safe at night coming back.

Room size is good, but the beds are very uncomfortable. The shower pressure coupled with the pointless half glass wall makes for soaked floors every time.

Hotel gym is awful if you even want to call it a gym. It's more of a tiny closet where only some of the machines even work. And guess what? If paying hundreds of Euros wasn't enough to stay here, they charge you 5 Euros for the privilege of using the gym! Was informed of that on checkout, NOT when first checking in. Never in my life in staying at hundreds of hotels around the world have I heard of such a thing. Ridiculous.

Look around for some place else. This ain't it.

I would like to write about my negative experience in this hotel. On the very first day after my check-in, I woke up at 04:00 am in the morning and saw a stranger, young man, who was standing at my bed with his key card, telling me that it was his room and wanted to sleep. He seemed to be very drunk. I have no idea how he opened my door and entered the room. I was very scared, but managed to get up and somehow kicked him out of my room. He kept knocking on my door and asking to let him in, as he wanted to sleep in “his” bed. I called reception and asked for help. Hotel employee came to my room, but by the time he showed up, the stranger had already been gone.Hotel employee denied the fact that somebody could open my door with a different key and told me that it was my fault, as I didn’t properly close the door (although I checked it before going to bed). He said that they didn’t see anybody in the lobby, entering the hotel, he said that there were no CCTV cameras on the floor and they couldn’t see any footage of that young man, so that they were hesitant to conduct some investigation to find out what happened or call police. I had a feeling that I was not protected at all. The only thing they did, just changed my key card and that’s it.
No further actions were taken, nobody has talked to me from the administration next day… at least to bring some apologies.I think that this hotel definitely has some security concerns and I would recommend to stay away from it.
