Well.
This has been a shambles of a stay.
We booked to stay here a number of months back. When we arrived at 1am we were taken through to the Holiday Inn express next door with no explanation. After around 45 minutes we were given some keys for our two rooms. We now have two twin basic rooms in a more basic hotel rather than our queen double rooms in the better hotel. The staff told us they were told not to mention the changes and hope guests wouldn’t notice.
We complain and one room gets changed to a disabled room. The tap was broken, the mattress too.
We complained the next morning and it was arranged we could move back to the original hotel but only for standard rooms.
We are told that the hotel didn’t turn off bookings so they have double booked loads of rooms.
When we came back later we were told they were ready and given the keys however they were dirty rooms when we got to them.
There are no managers at all available at weekends and while the day staff are trying their best we are told they have only two cleaners.
Two rooms for two nights at this hotel cost near to £1600 and so far it’s a shambolic and terrible experience.
We understand the staff on the ground can only do what they can but for quick city break to see Adele that was meant to be relaxing it’s an awful experience.

Very nice hotel. Good breakfast and comfortable bed. We would have liked to have our room done by housekeeping every day but it was not a big problem anyway. Staff helpful and always service with a smile, especially Muyadi in the reception desk. Recommend.

A good room , very comfortable but the young man on the desk couldn't get out a "guten tag" or show customer service skills. He wanted to charge us although we had paid and wasn't able to reassure himself or be polite about it. Maybe it was his first day.

The staff seemed nice at first and the check in went well. We stayed in the hotel for 4 days and they didn’t cleaned the room once. We were three people and two of us had to throw up a couple hours after breakfast on two different days - one of us was left with a stomach ache (definitely not recommended).

Firstly I’m a big advocate of IHG hotels, I’ve been a club member for around 20+ years, and mainly use IHG with work and travel.
Location wise the odd thing is the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are situated together, in fact sharing a check in desk which was confusing as we were greeted by a young lady who then proceeded to explain that she was ‘Express’ not Holiday Inn so had to wait for a few minutes. Not such a problem but it all went a little wrong from there with the very nervous member of staff.
No welcome amenity, no water, & in the executive room, wouldn’t mind but in Stuttgart last night all of these and a room upgrade without asking, between the two hotels absolutely Chalk & Cheese/Black & White.
One room out of two was not ready (we were a few minutes early) but when we rang down over an hour later the room was still not ready (well past check in time), we have now waited an hour and a quarter AFTER the check in time and still no second room.
So far on night 4 of 11, this is a definite downturn in quality of service.
This has now turned into what they say is a 3 hour total wait for the second room, because they are ‘busy’.
We are now in danger of not making our dinner reservation and one meeting I had to complete on this trip.
The location of both is not the most pleasant but is convenient for the train and tram, but beware, most places to eat/drink don’t open until after 4pm, and do not stay open late. Sundays are old school and a lot and I mean A LOT of places, shops/supermarkets etc are closed all day.
We’ve used this as a base for three days, to travel around the area and to Austria, in hind sight, I may have chose somewhere else both other than IHG and other than Munich!

One of the worst hotel services I’ve ever experienced. We checked in the afternoon but the staff seemed half asleep and said we didn’t pay for our room even though we were charged and booked through the IHG app. My wife accidentally left her wedding anniversary necklace in the room. We immediately called the same day to ask if it was left and were told to call back in the morning because housekeeping was gone. Called back the next morning and we were told to send an email. We waited a week and called back again and were told to send an email again, sent another email and confirmed receipt. The front desk said they would promptly respond later that day after talking to house keeping. Another week later - still no response. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service for something that could be easily resolved in a matter of hours but the staff could care less about their customers.

I have very bad experience with staff of this hotel. i stay there last week and until now i can not get inovice. I try send to them emails with urgent issue of invoices but without any response. Also I try to call them and they are not pick up the phone. I think they broke the law and didnt issue invoices. Just take money and bye bye no VAT document and also no inovices. Dont stay there people. Horrible service in Europe.

The receptionist named « André » in holiday inn Munich city east was rude and not respectful. He ignored my presence made me wait 20 minutes and then wanted to check in a lady that just arrived to the hôtel and ignore my request to check in. Note that I am here for a stay of Two nights for business and that there was no reason for this disrespectful behavior. Also, my request to talk to his manager was not taken into consideration stating that the manager is asleep. Very disappointing behavior and a very first unexpected experience for an IHG member.

The hotel comes across as quite nice but actually terrible service. They put signs up offering a free drink if you opt not to have your room cleaned…we wanted the room cleaned but they didn’t do it anyway. Called the front desk and they said housekeeping was closed so not their problem speak to them tomorrow. No clean towels, no clean cups or replacement tea or coffee. The room when we arrived was clean but the carpet was the worst I’d seen!!! Obviously no cleaning after we’d arrived. No hair dryer in room …called to ask for one…never came…went down to reception to request…woman acted like it was an obscure request and said they wouldn’t have one (they did). Overall worst hotel I’ve stayed in in Germany and worst Holiday Inn.
