Rocco Forte The Charles Hotel

I stayed in The Charles Hotel during Oktoberfest 2024 for three nights. My initial reason was this hotel was one the very few which had a spa in Munich. It was much more than I expected. In addition the breakfast was one of the best in European city hotels. There can be some improvements in the housekeeping however, as they never added complimentary water after first check-in. Surely when I told them, they immediately brought some. Would go there and stay again.

Upon arrival in the city, we stopped by to drop our luggage first before walking around town and finding something to eat. To our surprise, our room is ready, and we’re allowed to do an early check in.

The staffs are really friendly, like the one on night shift that helped us happily with our request of warm milk after a rainy day outside, and also the Spa team whom are always so informative and ready to give us a little tour of where is which.

The staff on the breakfast are also really attentive, providing us with options of warm drinks/juices/water/breakfast champagne (upon arrival to our table) also they provide fresh waffles/pancakes/french toast/ Benedict Avo-toast alongside the various eggs options.

It’s needless for me to talk about the quality of the items they provided, because I’m sure it’s already highly expected with Rocco forte hotels reputation.

I’m just happy to be able to share this wonderful experience, and saddened of our short trip duration.

Also my only tip would be for the Bar information hours to be provided somewhere, because upon arrival I mistake the Lounge GoogleMaps location as the Hotel Bar, and sadly we didn’t get the chance to visit the night bar because of the false closing hours I found.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is comfortable and has a great location. The food is delicious. We stayed in the room with a nice garden view. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Charles Hotel was surely the best hotel we could have chosen during our stay in Munich during the Euro 2024 games. Despite the massive influx of fans from all over the world, the hotel maintained its services in a very organized and mannerly fashion.

Additionally, the staff at this hotel were exceptional. Every morning, we were greeted by very kind and welcoming hosts and servers during our breakfasts. The breakfast itself was always fresh and extraordinarily prepared, allowing us to “fuel up” for our daily walks throughout the city.

Lastly, one special mention has to be made for a particular staff member from in-room dining — Marta. Her kindness and eagerness to help truly elevated our stay. On top of her excellent room service, Marta offered us recommendations and information about places we could include in our itinerary. Also, her ability to converse with us in multiple languages was a pleasant and much appreciated surprise. Marta exceeded all expectations and performed above and beyond for our family, and we wish her the best of luck on all her future endeavors.

Absolute jewel. One of the top service. I’ve seen. The breakfast is rich, thoughtful and delicious, the coffee is barista grade. The rooms are very well put together, and the spa experience is just great.

We are a family of 4 and had a great time. Stayed there for 3 nights. Marco helped us during check in. My husband forgot his wallet in the cab. Marco was able to track the cab and get us the wallet. Meenat- in charge of room service was amazing. Would def recommend the hotel. Spa and pool area is good.

Beautiful, bright, modern property with top-level service. The rooms on the higher floors have gorgeous views over the park and old Munich. Our panoroma suite was beautiful and the perfect size for our party of 6. Very helpful and receptive staff, aside from a minor lapse by Housekeeping. Nice breakfast offerings. Convenient, walkable location to tourist sites and restaurants. Definitely recommend for those looking for a comfortable luxury hotel that's in a less congested area than old town, yet still totally accessible to toursit sites.

Luxury hotel in a more secluded upscale area, overlooking a superb park - serene, quiet, laid back. Excellent Italian restaurant with beautiful outdoor terrace. Very high service standards. Some rooms and suites have panoramic park views with floor to ceiling windows.

Most accommodations are undergoing renovation, yet they have been well maintained over the years - some aspects new urgent updates especially technology - small TVs and not the best WiFi

Excellent location. It is close to Old Town, the museums and the central train station making it very convenient. Upon check in the staff were very friendly and professional. Every afternoon, Mumm's champagne and daily bottled water was available in the lobby for guest...a very nice touch and was appreciated. Breakfast was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us each morning. The fitness center was a good size and had a great variety of equipment available for use. The room was a nice size and as a sterling member with LHW I received a complimentary upgrade. I would give the rooms a 5 star, but for the cigarette smoke odor that came from below which was the entrance to the hotel and a smoking area. We had a nice view of the park, but if you are one that is sensitive to this odor, I would recommend taking a room in the courtyard or just away from the front entrance. Excellent hotel that I would highly recommend if visiting Munich.
