Reviews
I booked three rooms for three couples in my family, and from the start, there were multiple issues. On the first night, all our rooms were missing basic amenities like hairdryers, bathrobes, and slippers—items that should have been in the rooms upon arrival. I had to call the front desk to request them, which was an inconvenience.
The next day, we left for the day and returned at night only to find that none of our rooms had been made! This was extremely disappointing, especially after a long day. To make matters worse, all our rooms were uncomfortably hot, as the air conditioning wasn’t functioning properly. When I reported this issue, the maintenance person simply suggested we open the balcony door—not an acceptable solution.
The hotel’s compensation for these repeated inconveniences? One drink. This was far from sufficient given the issues we experienced. When I’m on vacation, I expect a stress-free and pampered experience, and this stay was anything but that.
I truly hope this feedback encourages the management to improve, as I’ve always valued Marriott for its reliability and quality. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet those standards.
The shower is an awkward configuration, and the toilet if less than efficient - ahem - which seems like a big issue from a structural perspective! Not sure how you fix that in a structure this large.
On the upside, breakfast is amazing and our staff interactions were excellent all around! It’s in a quiet neighborhood well connected to the U-Bahn. And again, we were fortunate to have an updated room. Luck of the draw, I guess. (Or they give better rooms to Elite members? 🤷♂️) Will likely stay here again.
The location was great in terms of public transport access to the centre of Munich, but to/from the airport was a bit difficult.
The hotel itself is in quite a state of disrepair, there were cordoned off areas, plaster coming off the walls, and loose skirting boards in the halls revealing a severe mould and damp issue.
Overall I would not stay again.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and housekeeping did a fine job at servicing the room each day.
Walking distance to the UBahn and Tram lines.
Many restaurants and wonderful bakery share the rear courtyard.
Would stay again and would recommend to others.

I will list the problems we remembered as a family with one kid.
1. There are only two receptionists for a hotel that is 22 floors high. One of them was busy and the printer didn't work for the other employee. So we waited on the line about 20 minutes for the check in, which was somehow acceptable.
2. We booked a superior room with a king bed but we received a room with a queen bed. The receptionist didn't tell us about this which was inappropriate.. We tried to contact them by the internal telephone (no one answered but I will write about this problem separately). I went to the reception and asked them why did we receive a different room than what we booked.. The answer was there were no rooms available and the needed to give us a smaller bed.. The only good point here is that they offered us a free breakfast.
3. Do not expect to reach the reception by telephone. They simply do not answer. Everything time you have a question or need some service like towels you have to go personally to the reception and ask for it.
4. The hotel is outdated. This includes the rooms of course. I cannot list everything that is outdated by as an example the rain shower is very old and didn't work properly because of the limescale that was not removed.. We got a feeling that we stayed in a 2 stars hotel.
5. The view is nice and the location is good. The U-Bahn is nearby.. so this is a plus point for the hotel.
6. There are no towels in the pool area and you have to bring your bath robe from the reception. Yes I said it right.. from the reception.
7. After I left the hotel I noticed two bookings that were reserved in my credit card transactions.. The fist one is the correct one which I booked online (104 Euro) and a second one with an amount of 160 Euro. No idea where that came from. After I asked about this, the hotel notified me that the second one was only reserved but not actually booked.
All in all it is the worst experience that we had in a hotel anywhere.. Never again even if it was for free.
