Upon arrival we were given a free room upgrade. This room was cleaned by Jolanda everyday who always made sure the room was spotless and we had clean towels.
The pools were not very busy and the bar staff were very helpful to everyone. They have shared tipping rather than the tip going to that specific person. There are sun beds available at all times.
We stayed in September so the beach did have a lot of seaweed but the staff were out everyday trying to get rid of what they could so guests could enjoy the beach.
The only negative would be how the waiters and waitresses treat some guests at meal times in the main buffet - we got ignored on a regular occasion and had to go out our way to get drinks whereas other tables around us would be getting their drinks refilled at the table and brought to them.
Buffet food was delicious and had such a great selection with different themed nights.
We went to the Asian and Italian restaurants which I would also highly recommend booking.
The ground staff were constantly working hard to repair the cracked floorings (assuming from earthquakes), and the gardeners were always out making sure everything was up to standard.
Overall we had an amazing experience and would definitely look at coming back in the future.
The staff here are extremely rude. Even when I tried to be friendly and smile, they treated me with no respect. The restaurants are confusing and poorly organized. I’m still at the resort while writing this, and with 4 days left, I honestly cannot wait to go home.
Upon arrival, I was told I needed to upgrade because the resort is split into 4–5 different sections. If you stay in one, you are not allowed to eat or drink at the others. I ended up paying an extra $1,500 for the upgrade, only to be told the buffet was closed. Instead, they offered a small station with a bit of fish and salad, which they called a buffet — completely unacceptable for the price paid.
If you visit during low season, prepare for the worst: limited food options, poor service, and staff with absolutely no sense of hospitality. I truly hope this resort receives fewer guests in the future so the staff are forced to change their attitude and learn humility.
This has been the most disappointing vacation of my life. I will never return to this resort, nor to the Dominican Republic.
A special shoutout to Junior Fox, who is an absolute star! His charisma, humor, and talent made every activity more exciting and engaging. Whether it was poolside games, evening shows, or dance lessons, he made sure everyone felt included and had the time of their lives. Junior Fox has an amazing ability to connect with both kids and adults, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere throughout the resort.
The entire animation team deserves praise for their dedication and hard work. They made our vacation not just relaxing but also incredibly entertaining. If you're looking for a place where you can laugh, dance, and create lasting memories, Bahia Principe is the perfect choice. Can't wait to come back!
Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana is a complete dissatisfaction.
- Constant lack of supplies: each day we spent there something essential was not available. Beach towels, alcoholic spirits, food at the buffet, beach lounge chairs. And even the worse thing the staff simply didn’t care about those we tried speaking to them.
- Outdated facility: while the room was spacious there were moldy and rusty areas.
- Sloppy staff: They “selectively” speak English. When you compliment they respond back in basic English but when it comes to asking something or raising a concern the most we got was no response.
- Noisy housekeeping: everyday we were awaken by loud chatters of housekeeping staff. On our last day they asked us to vacate the room at 8 am.
- Dirty linens and bath towels that had stains and markings. When we asked for new towels we were told this was the best they could do.
Overall, Bahia Principe Grand Punta is a certain NO GO place!
Check-in was a disaster, we waited more than hour and a half to be able to speak with someone. The people working at reception were chaotic and not helpful. I ended up with a wristband which didn’t work the whole stay, so I needed someone from my family to come with me if I needed to enter the room. We were lucky to be in a renovated room close to the beach and not that far from the buffet. About that- sun-beds at the beach and at the pool are something that it is missing all the time. There are not enough of them for all the people in the resort so you need to wake up really early to be able to safe one or two for later use. So that said it is a battle for those sun-beds and it is really frustrating. Bring towels as well, you might ended up with one towel for 5 people because they don’t have clean towels. Buffet- the food was fine, you can find what to eat. “Japanese restaurant “ it’s not a Japanese restaurant at all, waste of time. The food was awful… The staff in the resort are rude and not interested in serving you. When you enter the buffet you need to wait for at least 15 minutes for the waiters to bring you water or coffee and when they do that they just forget that you are there. The lady which was cleaning our room tried to get us out at 9:30 am to clean the room- like really … This resort is not a 5 star resort at all.
We are not recommending it and definitely not coming back.
The pools are incredible, offering plenty of space to relax and have fun, while the beach is nothing short of spectacular – a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and waves. The all-inclusive package is excellent, with unlimited drinks and a variety of buffet options that cater to different tastes. The fine dining restaurants also deliver a great culinary experience.
Overall, our group and families had an amazing time here. Everything about the resort exceeded expectations, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable vacation!
