I came to Iberostar Bavaro selection with family (group of 7) and I am very happy that I chose to come here. The food and drinks have been great and my picky kids haven’t complained

Almost every day, a member of staff would come to our sunbeds, whether by the pool or the beach and offer us something to drink

Overall had a great experience. The beach and rooms are beautiful. Pool is clean and well maintained. Staff is mostly friendly and profession. Ayayay is very professional and helpful. Made every night fun and enjoyable

The swimming pool area, including the swim up bar were very clean and once again, the service we received was fantastic

Pablo from entertainment was the best! He taught us how to dance! Alex and Luis from member services were helpful and patient with all of our questions. Everything was great from the start! Will definitely come back!

The entertainment staff have been great and including people in their activities. I enjoyed the archery activity. We celebrated dad’s birthday in the buffet in the evening and staff was excellent

There is very little to do at this resort, just swimming and lounging. Bicycles can be rented at 25$a day but nothing else. What was very frustrating was that the pools and beach close at 6pm

We were very thankful for our private pool but people in beachfront apartments felt annoyed. We had a villa with a pool and loved everything about them. We liked the outdoor shower and the big closet

Beach was beautiful and free from seaweed but very small. Most of the coast is taken by a beautiful seaside golf on both sides. There were plenty of lounging chairs with umbrellas

Abby helped us all week with activities and dinner recommendations. We golfed at the resort as well and had the best caddy, Amgel, he helped me golf better than ie we have

Food was better than most resorts. Very fresh though the quantity of certain dish was minimal. I was still hungry after eating the raviolis. The breakfast was not exciting with cheap fruits and breads

We sometimes felt pushed by staff to order more than we needed. As a reference, a quick lunch at the casual Blue restaurant ( two poke bowls, I glass of wine and a juice )was well over 100$

Excellent! My husband and I went for our 10 year anniversary just last Thursday (6/10-6/14) we had a ball. Our suite in the Royal Level was beautiful. Had an amazing view of the beach and the pool

We have first club membership and it was definitely worth it for us. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back again

The snack bar near pool is good for drinks but birds sit on the food so don’t eat there. Entertainment is good, better by the beach. Bar staff are good in main lobby but not so good at beach bar

At weekends the hotel gets busy and I believes that they should only serve two or three drinks per person at the beach bar because people are getting far too many drinks and refilling water bottles with beer

The location is excellent and the beach is beautiful. The spa is also very good and good value for money

**Review:** I recently stayed at the Occidental Resort in Punta Cana and had a mixed experience. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds and a nice beach

Every morning seaweed is removed from the beach. The staff is hardworking and professional. I stayed on the family side and visited the adult only side and there is more on the family side

Three of us participated and my cousin actually won! It was a great time! The property is gorgeous and the staff is very hospitable. You don't have to go far for a drink. Pool side- walkways- restaurants

We booked through Costco and really enjoyed our stay. The beach is really close to the rooms and so is the food. For such a large resort room service is timely. The whole resort is well kept

They have free kayaks and paddle boats. They have water activities at reasonable prices. But the bikini contest at the pool with the host Juan was amazing

If you are looking for an experience where there are no children, staying in the beach is best while still enjoying the amenities at the palace side. We eat at the Palace but enjoy our quiet time in the Beach side

The palace is very different vibe than the beach side (where my family and I are staying). The palace has a lot more activities but of course more kids

I stayed in this hotel back in 2017. The pool is amazing and they keep you entertained with fun activities during the day. The buffet is great and we specially enjoyed the restaurants we could book for no extra cost

Resort was fun! They had foam parties, large pools, servers and bartenders were great! I enjoyed the a la carte restaurants a lot, the buffet was okay! I did get food poisoning pretty badly for two days - I think from the burger/wing shack

There are people selling stuff in the beach which affects your calm and enjoyment. Front desk could improve as we payed for a service that was not provided. Fortunately this was resolved

Amazing staff so kind and ready to help in whichever way. The food and drinks were awesome ! The entertainment was spectacular. Went on a trip with friends and we had such a wonderful time and will be going back soon!!!!

This resort had the best customer service I have ever experienced. We arrived and the door man escorted us to the desk to check in. They offered us refreshments while we waited. The staff is so friendly and helpful

The animation is very good, prizes are given for participating in competitions. Friendly, funny and kind animators, I especially liked Keila. Night show is worthy and interesting

Today we had a great time with Andreína by the beach. She is such a lovely girl, very friendly and welcoming. Feels nice having people around like her sharing memories and experiences. Give her a pay rise!

The staff in the main dining don't care for us at all. The steak house guys were amazing. And why would u have a bar that some ppl can drink from and some can't? And that bar happens to be at the pool are you guys crazy?

This was my first time visiting Dominica Republic and I stayed at the Catalonia Bavaro all inclusive resort. This experience has been very relaxing as the weather has been great

The place is beautiful and Emmanuel, Manganza and the rest of the animation team were absolutely amazing. The shows were super entertaining, they were all very personable and hilarious

Emmanuel, provided great entertainment for Zumba! He’s a great dancer and brought a lot of energy. I truly enjoyed him and hope he’s here next time I come back

Dont miss out on their activities and dances, they put on a show!!! Jessica and the two other bartenders at the pool bar were amazing! If you are looking to have fun and be entertained make sure you book a stay at Catalonia!

We've spent 10 wondrous days here. The beach is beautiful and quiet. The food is delicious and plentiful. The only negative, is the pool can be a hit loud sometimes

But other than that, this is a great place for a family holiday

The animation team was amazing and had entertainment all day long at the beach in the morning on the beach, afternoon by the pool and awesome dancing with Blue in the lobby at night

Elvin checked on us frequently to make sure everything was great! We had some challenges with our room at first, but Franklin our butler was able to support us with moving rooms. Beach access and pool are incredible

Food was 7/10 but they had a lot of different options. The servers were all very nice and we liked our butler a lot. We were right on the beach and right by the pool

Miguel was the best server ever! We are here for our honeymoon and it was such a lovely experience! Our best meal of the week with phenomenal food at Oregano with server Miguel! We also had the romantic dinner next to the beach and Joan was our server and it was amazing! The service was incredible and the food was to die for!! Plus the view 🥰🥰 such an amazing dinner to celebrate our marriage!

The room, the unique experience, i wouldn't book the normal rooms from Lopesan. The beach is so near to the rooms, and the unique buffet is amazing.

I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it. We loved our vacation here! Everything was wonderful. The staff are so nice and friendly

Gorgeous facility, amazing service from Alexander The Great, amazing service from Esteban, but that front desk really made for some frustrating times when you’re shelling out that much money for vacation

Our concierge was extremely friendly and helpful- which enhanced the trip. We were content with the resort pools and beaches but if we come back (which is likely) we would go to neighboring resorts for more variety

The service was remarkable! We were attended by incredible staff. Notably, we were helped everyday by Raul at the beach who was incredibly attentive, supportive, and always willing to help with any and every need

One day, I left my wallet at the beach and he searched for me throughout the resort and ensured all of my possessions were safe. Chantal at the pool also took great care of us and made sure we had the best time

Everything from starters to dessert was well made! Wander was attentive, kind, funny and a great waiter! The kids club staff was also amazing and fun!!

At the pool, Willy, the bartender would save our seats for us so no matter what time of day we arrived we would have seats right by the pool in the shade. He also made sure to always have a drink in hand as well

One thing I recommend is playing more music throughout the day at the pool. And also the parties need to be better because it’s mostly American music but it should be more of Spanish music and it should be all night

It was so relaxing, clean, great staff. Jessica and Brigida was so helpful thank you. Also love how safe I felt especially during Covid. Just one thing I have to say i would recommend some music on the pool side

The hotel is nice, people here are very friendly and inclusive. If you are part of the travel club you can go to a members only private beach and it feels like your own beach because barely anyone is there

The pools are so pretty and service is constant your drink never gets empty! Tons of chairs at the pool with some in the sun and others under super cute umbrellas so you can choose the amount of sun

The staff is very accommodating and fun! Luis does a great job going around and interacting with the people staying here and creating a fun environment. We would recommend Barceló to anyone!

Royalton is closer by Arena Gorda beach, which is a much narrower stretch of beach, and Royalton’s shore specifically has a rough ledge taking up most of the shore space. 2) Do not order room service - see picture

To be honest the only problem we had is there was not enough chairs on the beach that we could sit at sometimes but there are also a lot a Aholes that leave their towels on chairs all day when they are there for 10 minutes, I really don't know the solution the this

If you’re looking for a resort with the best beach you want to look at resorts in the main Bavaro Beach section of the coast

DIAMOND CLUB Not a single complaint, excellent Service and resort bar none. Several all inclusive Premium Restaurants and Bars, Pools, Activities and a personal butler assigned to all your needs

The beach is beautiful. And the area is very clean with great pools

Really nice complex,but does need some maintenance. For example the pools are need of a re paint. Lovely restaurants,but limited choice in some of the menus

There were daily events going on everyday; pool events and workouts! The food at the buffet was great, amazing stuff! The downsides were that the service can be a coinflip; we can get amazing services at the buffet or waiters/waitresses forgetting about our requests

Overall, great pool, cleanliness, friendly staff, and beach access. The housekeeping staff were fabulous

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in August. Sadly we had to leave due to the hotel not having hot water. There was little communication from the hotel about the issue, resulting in us requesting a transfer

We were moved to a hotel that was better in terms of service and food, and so it highlighted what Impressive was lacking. That said I can tell Impressive want to up their game and hope things will improve year on year

This was a great all inclusive hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful and many speak English as well as Spanish. The beach is on the Atlantic side, so not turquoise clean Caribbean waters

Surf is a bit rough, and there is some seaweed, and rocky areas. I would say it’s not for you if you want the Caribbean beach experience. My 11 year old loved the lazy river pool

However, the beach in this area is rocky, which compared to the Caribbean Sea that other parts are located on, is a trade off. Overall, we got an amazing deal, and for the price, I would definitely recommend this hotel

As for the beach, many people didn’t enjoy it but I thought it was beautiful! The games played throughout the day are very fun as well! Overall, I would give this resort 5 stars as it was very good, I would return for sure!

Richard at the Mexican restaurant was great! There is also Mike’s coffee shop where you can grab coffee all day! Luna in the lobby was helpful and welcoming! Swim up bars are great, there are multiple pools

Excellent location, top-notch service. The wonderful beaches and swimming pools throughout the complex designed for the total enjoyment of adults and children

One star deducted because not everything is top notch, minor damage but nothing that massively affects the holiday feeling. Definitely worth a vacation even in the low season

Special mention deserves the fantastic gardens that give the environment a very cozy atmosphere

I am the first very picky person and this place is fantastic for me! Don't be aggressive with the staff, they are very nice, but they are "slow" because that's their work culture, they don't rush anywhere (go to Tanzania and you'll see what's slow 😂 )

These people who write bad reviews don't know what they want! They talk nonsense and none of it makes sense! It's just my eighth day of vacation and I'm having a fantastic time, the food is totally okay and it's constantly changing

Wi-fi works everywhere on the beach in restaurants and in the rooms (we didn't pay anything extra). Don't have second thoughts when it comes to this hotel

I read the reviews and had second thoughts but everyone gets to have their own experience. Our room in building 7 was nice. Looked like the one in the pictures. Close to a couple of the pools

The reservation system for the restaurants is terrible though. The main pool has the swim up bar but they allow smoking in it which I didn't enjoy. The bar staff at the various bars were all friendly

The resort itself was very well kept and clean. And, the beach was absolutely beautiful. When it came to the food at the resort, it was better certain days and times

But other than that it was a really fun trip. There is algae in the beach but that is a seasonal occurrence and not the hotel’s fault

Our stay here was awesome! The room 3018 was spacious, clean and right at the pool. The food in the main restaurant was excellent and very tasty

If you're considering going to this resort, JUST DO IT. Everything and everyone here is so amazing. All the employees are do personable and make it their goal to make sure you're having a great time
