This resort is amazing! All inclusive here really means all inclusive, you don't have to worry about anything unless you want extras but that's totally optional. The rooms were clean and the AC nice and cold. Our room was cleaned daily as well which is always nice. The beach area is amazing, literally within a 2 minute walk you could leave your room and go into the beach area. And boy was the water beautiful, it was a picture perfect turquoise color :D. True paradise here. The employees were the best as well, try to brush up on some Spanish and you'd do fine, although English speakers were plentiful it's always fun talking to them in Spanish. Love it here!

Checking in now. I’ve been standing waiting for my room for over an hour. It is now 3:30 and they told me my room would be ready at 3 and then 3:15. 10 people behind me in line are already in their rooms. My kids need to sleep, they’ve been up for over 24 hours. Unacceptable. I would be charged to check out this late. I will update this review, but right now… not off to a good start. UPDATE… well we just went to a terrible dinner at “under the sea” - we got no bread. The order was messed up three times and I got served regular coke instead of Diet Coke and I’m a diabetic. For dinner, I did not close my safe because housekeeping was already in my room today so no one should be in my room. When we got back, the do not disturb sign was on my door but I did not put it there... and a floor maid came by and told me that the safe was locked by security because it was left open. I don’t know why they were in my room in the first place. I called the front desk to come open my safe because my passcode did not work. After one hour, at midnight, no one showed up. I had to call and tell them to come tomorrow because my kids have to go to sleep. So I’m not sure right now if my passports are secure. UPDATE 2: passports are in the safe I still don’t know what housekeeping is doing in my room for a second time. On our fifth night the toilet clogged for the second time at 10 PM. I called down and they said they would send someone up to fix it. by 11:30. Nobody had shown up and My kids were ready to go to bed with no working toilet. I went to the front desk and they would not give me a plunger… they said someone had to come to fix it. I’ve been waiting 20 minutes for someone to come. They didn’t even know at the front desk that I had called earlier nor did they apologize.

This place is okay. Service was okay but we became friendly with a few of the staff while here. Staff wont speak English well so there is aways a language barrier.. Now the rooms are very small. Very small bathroom. .Coffee machine was not working. One night our sliding door came off the hinges and we have to make multiple phone calls for someone to come and fix it. Buffet food was ok… Not great food. The drinks are watered down. Overall we would never stay here again. Don’t waste your money I promise the pictures tell a false story. The front lobby appearance is like a 2 star motel. Once a year me and my family go to different resorts in different countries. Compare to that experience I cant give more than two stars.

We went for my sister's wedding and our first international trip. Staff at all areas were very friendly. Our housekeeper Eugenia was the best! We tipped her well daily. The food was decent. The beach was awesome. We loved the adult pool area being secluded with its own bar and hammocks. The wedding was beautiful and the staff involved were professional. I do wish they planned for an alternate for the reception since it rained. They had a few entertaining times, but i think more would be good. The casino was hidden and the sports bar. If we have any suggestions, it would be to get more towels and washcloths, get rid of sheets that aren't white, and continue to renovate. Oh, and there aren't any elevators, so make sure you request a room on the first floor if needed.

The resort itself was amazing and so clean. The food was average but still yummy and what you would expect at any resort you would to go in any country. The Italian restaurant was not the greatest but the hibachi was amazing. The lazy pool was where we spent most of our time and it was amazing to just relax and the swim up bar was a great addition. Our drinks were always so strong and it tasted great. We did do some excursions and we booked them with two different groups. One was with Costco and that was worth it. They took us to a cave and we got a chance to drive dune buggies and they also provided alcohol and dinner. The second one was booked through the resort and I was not a fan of it. It was the snorkeling excursion and it felt so rushed. I would not recommend it. We did have some issues with the housekeeping. Our fridge was not restocked daily and we had to keep reminding them, which was a hassle. My sunglasses were also stolen by the cleaner but thankfully it wasn’t something valuable. The beach area was also clean and spacious. I would definitely go back to this resort.

The food was good but could have been better. The water park was the best, attraction on the property. The gift shop was overpriced and lacking in variety. Room service needs significant improvement as our food when it arrived was pretty cold. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with all amenities for a relaxing time. The front desk staff needs to be sharpened a tad bit more in english language as this was a barrier.
The bars, Italian restaurant and pizza oven were top notch. Overall it was a good experience that only needs a tad bit to make it an excellent and exceptional resort.

Pros: good location, beautiful beach, nice pools (although hot tubs weren’t hot), food was surprisingly good especially the buffet.
Cons: check in was awful. They couldn’t find my reversion and it was as if they had no connection with Marriott. Had to repay and they overcharged me (I’ll have to call Marriott). Very few people speak English that work there, which is fine but surprising. Service isn’t the restaurants were very slow and staff did not seem very happy to be there.
Overall, it was good, but not amazing.

I would like to let others know. Before you choose location please consider some of my thought to save your time.
Location - Fantastic
If you are coming to here the biggest issue hotel have is check in and check out.
Worst service ever it took me 1 and half hour to check in.
Also I got room 2 hrs late. If I need to visit front desk for any query it takes more than 1 hrs to get help.
There staff don’t care and I don’t know why process and so slow. Management is not operating front desk properly.
I’m Marriott platinum member and I never had issue with any other hotel in last 10 years plus staying more than 500 nights.
But I would not suggest these hotel if you come for vacation and peace.
It will let you down and you will not enjoy.
Everything else was great. Specially Food and resort was great.

I went to this resort and have nothing to say but good things about this resort. The food was awesome overall. There were also 7 or 8 restaurants you could book besides the buffet. Our butler was awesome abs took care of our needs. Our presidential suite was very nice. The beach was awesome. This was the best resort overall I have ever been to. I see some bad reviews here and kind of shocked. To be honest the only problem we had is there was not enough chairs on the beach that we could sit at sometimes but there are also a lot a Aholes that leave their towels on chairs all day when they are there for 10 minutes, I really don't know the solution the this .

The ONLY good think about this resort is the location (as in the beach is beautiful). The staff is nice, but the hotel lacks management. The rooms are filthy. Dirt underneath the bed and on the furniture and mold growing in the bathrooms. The resort desperately needs an update. The food is below average, maybe average in the specialty restaurants. If you want to go on a Carnival cruise and pay Disney cruise prices, this place may be for you. I would never recommend. There are much better options in DR that are less expensive and nicer.
