Reviews
I have two devices, both mobile and laptop - the phone is a brand new iPhone 16, so it is not an issue with my devices as the front desk suggested.
I’ve been here for 3 days and it has not gotten better. If I didn’t prepay I would definitely have moved to a different hotel.
I’m willing to remove this review if the hotel makes it right for me.
I stayed at Hotel Vincci Soho Madrid and had an awful experience. We were charged TWICE the amount for our stay, apparently as part of their policy, with the promise that we’d get the money refunded after checkout. It’s now been 3 days since we left, and we still haven’t received the refund.
When I called the hotel to resolve the issue, I spoke with a staff member named Patricia, who refused to give me her last name. She was incredibly rude and dismissive, insisting that it was my responsibility to contact my bank, even though the issue was clearly on their end. Her attitude made me feel like the whole situation was my problem, not theirs.
While the hotel might look nice and professional, this experience has been nothing but a nightmare. Beware—this feels like a scam! Avoid this hotel unless you want to deal with double charges and rude service!
She did arrive an hour earlier but since I only had the reference number from the website I booked and it didn't fit to their number they couldn't check her in so she had to wait, of course they didn't think about checking with the website, do something extra or god forbid at least offer her some drink while she wait.
Than of course instead of trying to improve our bad start they gave us a dark room with mould in the shower and 2 separate beds attached (though booking was for 1 double bed and they had several better rooms available). Madrid tap water are safe to drink but they didn't leave a bottle and glasses to use, they do leave 2 small bottles of mineral waters in the minibar but from some reason only 1 is for free for 2 people...
Also no decent cups, only cheap 1 time use cups , but the tea bags quality is so low that I didn't even needed it, did ask them if possible to get decent tea bags but of course...nothing...
Location itself is great and maybe its OK for a business trip but I wouldn't return again even for free.
They had so many opportunities to improve our staying but just seems like they preferred to ignore.
Lobby and bar seems decent, didn't try the breakfast
It's in a fantastic location, surrounded by decent bars, cafés and restaurants. The key sights and sites are easily walkable from the Vincci Soho, and getting to it from the airport is also pretty easy.
Special shout-out to Silvia and and Nacho at the front desk who greeted us pleasantly, answered our questions promptly and gave us a really nice room!
Looking forward to coming back again.
The room and bathroom are large enough, the only small drawback is that you can almost walk into the "bed" from the bedroom. Fortunately, the surrounding rooms were empty and it was quiet. And the last minor shortcoming was the lack of space in the reception area. There were often long queues.
The location of the hotel is superb.
Finally, our rating is number 9. Mr,Vaclav Soukup & Mr.Samuel Tejansie
However, this is where the positives end. The room for a 4 star hotel was incredibly disappointing. It was very small (much smaller than the Japanese hotel rooms I had stayed in last month). It was dimly lit and it just wasn't that comfortable. The furniture was also scratched and damaged. Also there was no complimentary water. Paying almost €3 for a small bottle of water from the minibar is totally unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.
So all in all a mixed bag. I would stay in the far superior Hotel Vincci The Mint which had much better rooms.
