It is more a guesthouse than an hotel. It is in a good location, right in front of the beach. For unpretentious people, it is a good choice, because it is convenient for the beach, and the old town can be reached in twenty minutes on foot. The room, however, was basic, with old furnishings and foam mattresses which were not so comfortable. However, it was clean, especially by Greek standards.
I recommend it to those who do seek convenience instead of luxury.

I got room 34 seaside with balcony. The room is very beautiful and have a really nice bathroom. Cleaning is top class. Location is great with beach close and restaurants all the way to Chania harbour. In fact our favorite restaurant is 100 meters away. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is recommended.

Located literally 2 steps from the beachfront, surrounded by many restaurants and shops.
They offer simplicity, no hassle, no stress. A really nice and affordable place which won't leave you disappointed. The place has a nice restaurant/bar, the staff is very friendly, they even rent sunbeds and umbrellas and bring your orders out there. 0-24 reception, baggage storing on day of deaprture, arranging transfers for you. Would recommend.

They do 2-stars right. It’s a simple, albeit older room. Comfy bed, working aircon, appropriate storage. It needs a bit of a face lift but nothing worth calling out.
Staff are friendly and can speak English. Food and drink service at the cafe downstairs is good.
Location is AMAZING. Literally right on the beach with enough food and drink options. 15ish minute walk to old town but you get the quiet here.
Parking filled up one day but we were able to get a street spot.
100% will return again.

**Title: Terrible Experience - Avoid This Hotel**
I had an absolutely awful experience at Danaos Hotel. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff were unprofessional and discriminatory. During our stay, several staff members appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs in their restaurant while on duty. This created an uncomfortable and unsafe atmosphere.
One of the most shocking incidents occurred when we were kicked out of the hotel's restaurant simply because we are from Macedonia. The waitresses were rude and made it clear that we were not welcome. This blatant racism is unacceptable and should never be tolerated in any establishment.
I strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to look elsewhere. The discriminatory behavior and lack of professionalism from the staff completely ruined our trip. Avoid this place at all costs.
I hope that this woman who ruined our trip in Chania will be kicked off. She was not in good condition for working because of the alcohol(drugs).
Not recommending for guests from Macedonia, because their stuff leaves in 19 century and they are racist.
Highly not recomended, because they ruined my holiday with my girlfriend.

A lovely place to have a drink right on the beach. The owners are lovely, and it has a relaxed vibe and is reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Beautiful location near restaurants and the beach, within walking distance of the old town. The room was tiny, and the bathroom was even smaller. Everything was outdated, the decor and electricals. The staff at breakfast not very friendly. Basic breakfast: black coffee only, black or green tea, 1 type of yoghurt, water melon and melon, some pastries, hard boiled eggs, sliced cheese and ham.
Overall, we got what we paid for.

We stayed at Danaos Hotel for 10 nights the location was perfect. Just across the road from the hotel was a beautiful sandy beach. The walking strip had so many different restaurants to choose from. We just kept going back to Volakas Restaurant we was a couple of doors down as their food was amazing. I would like to thank Anastasia and Elleni at front desk at Danaos as they went out of their way to help my husband and I. Thank you once again ladies for your hospitality and help throughout our stay. I highly recommend Danaos and I would definitely stay there again.
