We recently returned from a lovely stay at Amazones Village Suites and had a fantastic time! We booked a garden view suite, which was spacious, airy, and very comfortable. A quick tip -if you're booking through EasyJet, make sure you select a suite and not the annex to ensure you are staying in the main hotel! The pool area was great, and our kids absolutely loved it. The views were stunning, especially around sunset, and the location was perfect within walking distance to the charming villages of Old Hersonissos, Piskopiano, and Koutouloufari. Each one had its own charm and plenty of authentic Greek tavernas to explore. We also had a fun night at My Bar, which is great for a bit of karaoke. The manager and staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and we met some lovely regular guests who made our stay even more entertaining! We’ll definitely be back! Crete is absolutely beautiful, and Amazones Village Suites was the perfect base to enjoy it!

What a lovely hotel!! The rooms were more than satisfactory despite previous reviews ( it’s Greece !!!) The staff and its owner George were just magnificent and couldn’t do enough for you . The pool was lovely and my only gripe would be the amount of sunbeds available for the amount of guests but there simply isn’t room for more . The breakfast was more than adequate with lots of choice . It is up a hill so wouldn’t suit people with mobility issues. The climb back up is challenging but adds to the charm in my opinion and the views it offers as a result are stunning. A lot of guests were on return visits and one person was on their 5th. I can see why people return and will certainly be doing so myself ❤️

Sadly, my experience staying at this hotel fell short of what was advertised as a 4* resort. A few problems fell with my travel agent, rather than the hotel. I paid hotel prices but was housed in what's known as the 'Annexe' a 2* at best room. I didn't have a flushing toilet for 5 days out of my 11 nights, my bedroom window didn't lock, opening my front door was hit and miss so it was easier to climb over my balcony and let myself in using the open patio door, or climb through the bedroom window with the help of the balcony chair (I'm 54). I think this building was used for the younger set of guests or, like myself, a solo traveller. The mattresses were old, thin and lumpy, the room was dated, initially there was a dreadful smell of damp, but when I brought it to the attention of George, the Manager, it was sorted. My travel agents description on the website made no mention of the annexe, it was alluded there was a hotel only, it stated there was a gym (nope), spa treatments (nope), self catering facilities (nope), even rooms with jacuzzies - to be honest, I'd have preferred a room when the shower head fitted the holder and the shower curtain reached the base so the bathroom floor wasn't flooded. Taps, sinks and toilet roll holders were covered in limescale. The room was a good 5 minute walk to the hotel up two quite steep hills. I'm fit, but anybody carrying a bit of weight, or with health problems wouldn't stand a chance. My other problem was the pool. A lovely area, but no beds around the pool were available, they were constantly covered in towels from the crack of dawn with some guests going off for the day any not even using them. Umbrellas are bolted down so you can't move them, for 4 hours of the day its the pool they shade due to the position of the sun! Due to some of the younger guests I was wide awake at just gone 4am. 'If you can't beat them, join them' I thought, grabbed my towel and navigated in the dark (no lighting) my way to the hotel... I was shocked to see that 90% of the beds already had towels on them!! It's a shame my experience wasn't better as I'd probably recommend or return had my accommodation been what I paid for. The hotel staff are lovely, the bar staff work hard and the food and beverages very reasonably priced, you certainly don't feel ripped off. I did complain to the travel company and they have agreed to refund me 15% of my holiday costs, I just hope this doesn't impact on the hotels money, however, they do have a duty of care to contact their representatives and ask for the websites to be updated to give a true representation of what holidaymakers should expect upon arrive. False representation of facilities and standard of rating should be corrected, I paid 4* hotel tax, for 2* accommodation. In all, the main building was clean, and other guests I spoke to who were in the main complex were extremely happy and complimentary so I can see how they get so many returnees, I won't be one of them. Great location with stunning views. Authentic Greek accommodation with wooden french windows and doors. Very spacious with the most comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean , our maid was so friendly. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun loungers , although some guests got up very early , some in the middle of the night to secure their spot🤦. The managers and their staff are fantastic, can't do enough for their guests. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was food ordered from the menu . They have set menu deals in the evenings which are excellent and reasonably priced. Thank you to George ,Daliya, Mio and the best bar man and friend Nikos for a wonderful holiday .

What a brilliant 10 nights we have just had, superb staff superb views, can 100% understand why they get so many repeat holiday makers we will definitely be returning for more holidays, my wife has already done a review which is pretty well accurate, well done George, Nicos and all the staff you are the people who welcome your guests so well and keep them coming back⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We just returned from a 10 night holiday here and could quite easily have stayed longer, all staff so accommodating and friendly as was everyone we met while out and about in the tavernas and shops. We had a side sea view apartment room D3 and had stunning views, yes could do with a bit of updating but mattress and pillows were best we have had on other 5 star holidays, other reviews are correct re sun beds I am an early riser and down pool area by 6 most mornings and even then lots of beds already had towels on. Breakfast was plentiful and always topped up, lovely little savoury pastries as well as sweet treats, food to order during the day was also lovely and good prices, plenty of tavernas in piscopiano village 5 mins walk away as well as old hersonisos village 15 mins walk and very pretty and hersonison beach and resort 20 mins down hill which has loads to do but rocky into sea so need beach shoes, would we return? 100% had we not already booked for next year we would come back here, PS aircon in bedrooms spot on, well done George and all of your team for making us feel welcome.

We arrived on the 1st July for a weeks stay on bed and breakfast basis and had a fabulous time. We arrived in the evening a bit late and was offered Gyros which was lovely. Our room was very spacious and clean the bed was ever so comfortable. The rooms were cleaned every day apart from Sunday. The staff were very friendly and all polite. From Nikos behind the bar to George the owner on reception. We had excursions booked for 4 days so used the hotel as a base and for drinks before going to bed. The view from the pool was spectacular. We would have our breakfast looking out, we used the pool just on the 1st day and the last the loungers do get taken up very quickly. The hotel is up the side of the mountain which we knew when we booked and a 10 minute walk to the tavernas and a 20 minute walk to the next village with more tavernas and bars. For 10 Euros we got a taxi down to the port/ harbour town which had a lot of night life restaurants We will definitely return.

This was our first time staying at this place. I will say the apartment was nice and spacious with a comfortable bed. The room was cleaned everyday except Sunday and fresh towels and bedding provided. Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. The hotel also provided beautiful views. However upon arrival we found the bathroom door didn't shut properly, the water was cold so we ended up having to have cold showers for 2 days also when showering I had to stand close to the wall for a shower. When I spoke to the manager about this it was eventually fixed but he did come across abit narky about it. Last thing was the beds by the pool were basically hogged everyday by regulars or other people that would just leave there towels for hours and go off into town or something, so unfortunately myself or my wife never got to use the pool facilities and nothing was actually said or addressed about this . Other then that it was a great stay and we will be coming back to Crete

Beautiful apartments very Greek authentic and lovely friendly staff, only negatives about room are balcony doors are not secure kept opening in the night. We also had someone trying to enter our room during the night a few times. Also heard another family report the same thing. Pool was very overcrowded people reserve sun beds as early as 7am and most of them not there to use most of the day therefore didn’t get to use the pool facilities. Breakfast was great and also the bar area

Well what can I say...we've just had a fantastic holiday in Crete staying at this establishment Arrived by minibus which was a plus due to the 250m walk up the hill,yes the reviews are correct,this location is up a fairly steep hill but is justified by the fantastic views... We were greeted by George with a warm and friendly smile and made to feel at home he took us to our room via a golf buggy which was quite cool Our junior suite was very spacious, with a kitchen ,fridge and AC in the bedroom,the bed was extremely comfortable and we also benefitted from a large balcony with glorious views The bathroom was lovely, clean and spacious and the shower was great Food and drinks were plentiful whatever time of day and the breakfast although not full English was lovely...there was something for everyone There was plenty of sunbeds around the pool and we never had an issue getting one, the weather was glorious too... Easy access to piskopiano and koutaloufari a 5-10 min walk down the hill with fantastic bars and restaurants along the way We walked around a mile to the seafront in new hersonisiss where it's more busy but again lovely restaurants and bars etc However it's only €10 for a taxi back to your room...I'd recommend this as it can be quite a walk in the heat and it drops you at the door Overall a very relaxing week away with no dramas Give him a try as we will definitely be staying there again
