Best Hotels in Maleme

In fact since we last came a couple of years ago there has been a change to what was already an excellent holiday experience by way of a renovation to rooms, services and eating and drinking places

We came as a family of 4 with a 4 year old and 3 month old. The hotel is decent for a family break. Pools and slides very good for the kids and for an all inclusive the food wasn’t too bad although repetitive

(I think these prices were made up to be honest) We had a good stay overall, but this was ruined slightly on the last day when we needed the courtesy room

Got to the room, and the bathroom was left in a disgusting state by whoever was before us, toilet and shower etc… dirty towels all over the bathroom still. No one had even changed towels in between family’s

Receptionist eventually sent a cleaner to sort it out but we obviously had to wait for this so wasted probably an hour and half in total messing about just to have a quick shower before transfer

We arrived at reception for the room to be told we’d have to wait for another 3 family’s to use it first. Not great with young children when you’ve been promised you wouldn’t have to wait

My daughter and I have just spent a week at the Asterion. We thought that the facilities and the food were excellent, although it is the staff who make this a fantastic place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the entire complex – small, but full of charm! A special mention goes to the friendly and attentive team, and a big thank you to Goran, who welcomed us warmly every evening and provided excellent service

The atmosphere during dinner was always relaxed and often very entertaining – thank you for that! The food was varied and of very good quality

We both enjoyed our walks along the sea-front, took a taxi into Chania Old Town and went for a trip on a mini-train which had an accessible carriage! It means so much to be able to still enjoy a holiday like this, so thank you to everyone at the Asterion, especially to the kind gentleman who mended the back of my scooter with his Allen key!

There are several great restaurants nearby, a promenade suitable for jogging. The city of Chania and the beautiful beaches of western Crete are very accessible and close. The entire hotel team is professional and great

Although the bathroom was not fully accessible, it was equipped with a walk-in shower and the hotel had kindly made a seat available. My only wish would be for a fully equipped disabled toilet near the restaurants

All the food was so fresh, tasty and delicious we ended up eating in the hotel for most of our stay. We (3 adults) had a 14 night stay in one of the Grand Superior Double hotel rooms which was ideal and spacious

On our arrival we were greeted by charming members of staff, in fact everyone working at this hotel were friendly and very hard working. They were always happy to see us and are a huge asset to the hotel

We were only booked in as B&B however the first night we had our evening meal in the hotel and found the food to be of a very high standard with so many choices

There was never any problem getting our 3 sun loungers together either by the pool or on the beach whatever time we went down

The Myrion Beach Resort really is very special, the service, decor, ambience, hotel grounds are all exceptional

  We could not find any fault with this hotel and will certainly be recommending this to our friends. Hopefully we will be returning as this was just perfect, we have had a wonderful holiday

Every night when we ate dinner in the all inclusive restaurant we could see while sitting outside that there was staff cleaning the sunbeds and tables by the pool, it always looked good and clean in the moring when we went for breakfast

Some days it was good! for example when it seemed like there was a theme like mexican (taco, burrito and so on) and greek night (gyros, both self made and ready-made) but some days we did not find that much that tempted

Me and my bestfriend have just spent two weeks at Solimar Aquamarine. We booked a double room with private pool and we loved it! Every summer we book a girls trip and travel for two weeks together

All the sunbeds by the main pool was taken our three last days so we are wondering if there is enough beds in july and august(?) Don’t know how full the hotel was when we stayed there, but we know that it’s 104 rooms here so it might work out well

We really liked that and it made the meals feel more «exlusive» instead of in hotels where you have to go get your drinks on your own at the buffè. The food might be one of the few things we are a bit disapponted with

The all inclusive buffè is clean and the staff there is nice and friendly. For lunch and dinner they serve water, wine, soda and the drinks you want (those who are included in the all inclusive) to the guests table

It's a great hotel with great and helpful staff, always smiling and with good energy, our family been more then happy for our stay here, I'm sure we will come back again 😀 😊 definitely a place to visit, you have beach 30 meters from the hotel too

Also the sun sets on the other side of the beach with is also beautiful. Overall we had an amazing week at Maleme Mare. We would highly recommend it if you’re after a week of relaxing in this friendly, family feel hotel

Food was good & the chefs were great, always greeted you & always smiling

Very clean hotel with the friendliest staff, they couldn’t do enough for you, special mention to Aris who is so friendly with all guests & had such good banter with him, we loved seeing him around! Also Sasha behind the bar was so friendly & always smiling

We would like to give a massive shout out to Aris who made an effort with us each day, what a lovely guy and we feel as though we’ve left with a friend. 3 nights a week there’s entertainment on at the bar

Sasha is always working hard and there’s a big selection of cocktails in the evening. By the end of the night everyone is up dancing and laughing. The food is perfectly presented and huge selection

Friendly staff and excellent food and cocktails. If you want to enjoy a quiet holiday, go there. Rooms new and always clean everywhere

All the five stars are dedicated to the staff! Reception, restaurant staff and cleaning were all so great. They were all very kind and interactive with my little 1-year old daughter Luna, so we appreciated this a lot

I had no expectations because already once in Greece the hotel was a disaster despite the higher price and good reviews. But the hotel exceeded expectations. Beautiful quiet hotel, not far from the beach

The hotel facilities are very good, pleasant restaurant, nice pool area. The fitness room though - a tragedy

And the way he conducted this with his own people was very simply embarrassing to look at. I would not want to work for him myself but maybe Greece is a little outdated when it comes to people management, I don't know

I'm sure the management would want to have 'fitness' checked out amongst the facilities but to call those facilities a gym would be a strong overstatement. They have six 5-kg weights and two machines out of order

Excellent place - good value for money. We had a great balcony overclooking the swimming pool, the apartament was comfortable and cosy. The swimming pool was perfect - clean, warm and deep (2.7m) We love it!

There were 3 bins in the room, which made it a lot easier to keep the room tidy. The bins were taken out everyday and beds were also made everyday. The kitchenette has most utensils and cooking equipment

Spaces in the car park appear to have been marked at different times, as some of the spaces block other cars in, which I'd witnessed, and on 1 of the nights I watched 2 cars drop people off and then leave because there weren't any spaces left

But at the beach front there are plenty of spaces, and that is a very short walk away from the back entrance of the hotel. It was very close to a shingle beach and a stretch of hotels and shops, and the tourist train

Fridge also had a freezer shelf. There was a dining table and chairs, a dressing table, a sofa bed to sleep 1 person, a double bed and on the balcony there was a small table and chairs. Balcony was of a decent size

I have been going there for the summer the last 3 years and I can say that they have made a really spendid job with making the rooms more modern and the hotel staff is very friendly in any situation!

Keep in mind that the hotel is next to the main road, so naturally the (cheaper) rooms facing north (towards the road or "mountain view") are more noisy and sitting on the balcony is less pleasing

Very dated but good Aircon and nice size room

The terrace restaurant is open all day, they serve snacks but also fresh traditional Greek dishes and meat from the grill. Food is okay, on par with most tourist oriented restaurants in Maleme

The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, but well maintained and reasonably priced. The sea view/pool view room was quiet and had a very nice view from the balcony, especially in the evenings

The family and staff is very friendly and always helpful, they let us keep one of our rooms on checkout day free of charge so we could leave our luggage there and use the pool all day

I would recommend the Albatros as a base for exploring the island and the beaches, for hanging out at the pool in the afternoons/evenings and the occasional snack in the restaurant

The beach a little stones but the hotel provides free deckchairs as well as canoes. Beach monitored by hotel volunteers as well as entertainment. Thank you all we had a very, very good week

Stunning food and service! The whole experience from start to finish is amazing. The restaurant team is always so friendly, kind and professional

Very good cuisine with Greek specialties. The cooks are always smiling and are courteous, the same goes for the cleaning ladies who work hard in the heat, everything is clean, the rooms, the gardens and the swimming pool

The complex has several buildings with a few rooms each, so you don't feel crowded. The sea view rooms are right on the beach, those on the ground floor don't even need to use the door to get to

The food was also fantastic – with delicious Aegean dishes and a very wide selection of vegetarian options, there was always something fresh and tasty to enjoy

We've just returned from a lovely holiday in Crete. The hotel is good but as I say in the title, there are some improvements needed. We still really enjoyed our stay though

Food was good , and a very good choice. Nice pool area , only a handful of people reserving sun beds by the pool , no issue getting a sun bed up to 11. The beach sun loungers are absolutely filthy, torn and tatty

45 pm and was told too late come back at 10 am next day , which was no good to us as we had booked another trip but the reception just back up the towel desk and said is the hotels rules and can not be changed

So basically a good stay , but not good enough to want to return, we would return to Crete again , Chania was lovely and is approximately 25 mins on a bus

Originally she said there wasn't another swim up available that night as they were all booked, so I requested a refund, but they called us an hour or so later to say they had an alternative, which we viewed and was much better

Kastalia village is the best hotel ever. Clean , friendly , food amazing , local products and the staff is so nice ! The swimming pool is amazing. Nearby the hotel there are nice beaches and you can walk till there

The only thing I could complain about is the AC that didn’t really do much difference to the temp in the room, but it kept the table and chairs nice and cool😂 if it would be located closer to the sleeping area it would be much more convenient

There is some restaurants and shops nearby and a tiny shop just next to it- the lovely gentleman there has everything you need. The rooms are rather basic but spotless, the area is cleaned and well maintained

Pool is great and not too crowded, there were always some loungers left. The splash park wasn’t too big but big enough to keep little ones entertained for a while. The snack bar has a decent menu and drinks

We just came back home from our stay at Kastalia Village. It’s on the edge of town and it’s perfect- quiet, far from all the crowds. It has large parking so ideal place for people with rented cars

There is a very basic playground for younger kids. The hotel is walkable distance from the beach although we didn’t really go there apart for a walk

We spent the last night of our weeks holiday at this resort as a treat. The room was very good - very clean. Some excellent perks such as welcome drinks / cocktails and a bottle of wine

Fantastic Stay – Clean, Comfortable, and Relaxing I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, helpful, and always attentive

Stayed 6 nights in a pool view room which we were upgraded to. Had a beautiful view from the 2nd floor. The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent

The half board includes breakfast and dinner in which the food was excellent. We choose this option so that we could venture out during the day and explore other places for lunch

The breakfast was good but I was told I could not take my coffee out from the breakfast area - whatever we had had to be consumed there. Bearing in mind the pool can literally be 5 steps away from the breakfast area

Would we go back again - maybe - the layout and rooms and gifts were very good

Beautiful hotel but poorly designed bathroom in our apartment. Pool was ice-cold (we went last week of the season though). Other than that, beautiful stay!

Overall a nice hotel. Breakfast is not included, which would be nice. Rooms are a little worn, but with nice facilities. Nice location next to the beach and a couple of stores and restaurants.

Unbelievable beautiful place!! Short walk to a beautiful beach, pool for small children, and 2 other pools. Bar at the pool, good food, great breakfast with what ever you want, yogurt, milk bread cornflakes

The rooms were also nice, with small kitchens equipped with everything you need for making food. The location was perfectly placed next to a shopping and dining street with all conceivable options available close by

We didn't try other hotels, but we imagine this being one of the best in the area

Nice, friendly and easy. Good location close to everything. Nice view from the balcony. Not crowded when we visited in May. Don't forget ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise.

Good location for different trips

There is a teenage boy working here who’s yelling constantly, and staring at everybody the whole day by the breakfast and bar, which ruins the good vibes at breakfast and is really annoying

The breakfast was tasteless, and has a small selection of not-so good food

The hotel as is ok. We had an apartment below grund which was ok big, but not very cosy. Cleaning was meh, but the people were very nice. Perfect pool for the whole family is one extra star.

The bartrender Angelo was an Angel from above. The bar was a pleasure to hang out, he is so friendly and make the best drinks I have ever drank. You have to visit and say Hello from Kimberlee to Angelo

We spent half of our honeymoon here we were welcomed with beautiful gifts and friendliness, the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean

Excellent food in the restaurant, a lot of dietary dishes for children, a variety of the diet were changed every day. Two nice pools with sea views. All the amenities in a walking distance. Will definitely go here again!

Good hotel and very helpful staff, the cleaningladies are very nice and happy! If you are there more than 7 days you will get tired of the breakfastbuffé let alone 7 days the juice ia barely juice and tastes very synthetic

We had a nice spacey room with sea view. We stayed there for one night, which was quite expensive, but for a family with kids this is definitely a place to visit. Very good bathroom and shower and good quality beds.

Hotel apt was clean and comfortable and staff is alwas nice and ready to help. Be aware the beach is not for children , it is really deep right after you step in the water

It was my first time staying in an all-inclusive hotel. The hotel was modern and well decorated. The service was excellent and the food was delicious

Really nice hotel with plenty of good facilities and a great layout. The pool is enormous and well lit so it really stands out at night and the private beach is a lovely touch. The food does let it down though

The restaurant was open at almost any time and there were basically no restrictions. The kids loved the water slide. Although it was not big, there were not many people and they could enjoy it

Unfortunately, the temperature was relatively low in early May and there was a strong wind. Although the outdoor swimming pool was beautiful, it was not very swimmable

The buffet can become quite tiresome and repetitive and the food quality is certainly not the best

Wonderful, in every way! Close to the beach, Clean sandy beach and sea. The pool area is also nice and clean. Fits for couples and families, for anyone actually. The room were big enough and the bed was very comfortable

Martin from the animation/entertainment team was great! We all really enjoyed the daily darts game! Theodora (training captain) in the buffet restaurant was amazing, my 10 month old daughter absolutely loved her

Even outside the resort the local businesses were so friendly and not pushy for sales, in fact they gave us free drinks and gifts for our children! Can not recommend this resort and the area enough!

She went out of her way every time to help us. All the staff were so friendly and lovely which made our stay extremely memorable

We were worried as we booked there for the water park but on jet 2 looking into it they were keeping the park open with the rest of the resort shutting

The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel

We were moved from the village resort to the beach resort due to being under subscribed at the end of the season

The staff is polite, helpful, and friendly. The service includes breakfast and all-inclusive. The breakfast buffet offers a range of dishes in line with general European trends, supplemented by a few Greek specialties

Unfortunately, hotel guests "reserve" the sunbeds in the morning, so it often happened that although there was no one in the pools and around them, we still couldn't find a free sunbed

Hotel guests also have access to a moderately equipped fitness room and a spa area available for a fee. We spent a very pleasant week in the off-season at the hotel

The room was good, a recommendation from me was to bye the air conditioner it was 10€ per day. We didn’t have pool towels with us so we needed to by that, 6€ PER TOWEL

Our stay was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The private swimming pool was amazing and the whole place felt peaceful. Both the room and shared spaces were very clean

Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, from savory to sweet

I thought that I was a little too much for a pool towel but yeah I get it also. The restaurants was good but I recommend that for dinner to go to platanias and eat

Beautiful hotel with great staff! The location is also perfect , not far from anything but still feels a bit away from all the stress. I recomend trying both resturants on sight and the bar !☀️ i will be back

The best part of the hotel was it's view. We took a sea view room and it was perfect. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast at the restaurant waves had good variety even for vegetarians

We had a large balcony with a table, and everything was so clean that when we wiped the table, there wasn’t even a trace of dust. The attention to detail in the cleaning was truly impressive

Welcome drink on arrival and a voucher for a free drink at the bar also. Pool area is relaxed and there are loungers on beach and round the pool so best of both options. Rooms are clean and comfortable

Also a ironing board and iron so one could get wrinkels out of the shirts. Breakfast was superb and a good variety to choose from, all with an magnificent seaview and friendly considerate staff

We stayed here a week with four Kids. Poolbar had good and quite good prizes. You could eat in the bar or in your room/balcony. Good location, quiet road on the side. Super market just other side of the road

Clean, comfortable and affordable room for a 3 star hotel, excellent menu, and pool bar,. it has 2 pools for children and adults

Well kept hotel and very clean. Beds were comfy, good pillows. 2 min walk to the main street with all the restaurant and shops. Then a further 4 min walk to the beach. The size of the apartment was a positive for us

Our room is a good size for two people and we have a nice sea view on the pool facing side. On this side there's no sun on the balcony until late afternoon. But it's a godsend as it's also nice when a breeze blows

Best assistance from the owners and room service. Localisation near the beach, tawerns and shops. Deep pool with the zone also for children, comfortable rooms with balcony, WI-Fi- ok

It is a small, super modern hotel. Breakfast has a lot to choose from and tastes very good. The suites are cleaned daily. Many thanks to Angie for the great service. She was very friendly and helpful. 🥰

We had a good time here staying for two weeks in May all inclusive, The hotel is well situated for walks to the shops or other nearby bars and restaurants should you require a change

It is clean and has attentive friendly staff. The food is good but a little bit limited on variety

The star of this hotel is bar tender Nektarios with whom I spent many an evening with at the pool bar putting the world to rights and joining in with the occasional shot with the Polish visitors, cheers from Steve

We had no problem with sunbeds round the pool which we preferred to the beach, Overall a great location that delivers what it says on the tin. I would have no problem recommending it and would return again myself
