Best Hotels in Maleme

(I think these prices were made up to be honest) We had a good stay overall, but this was ruined slightly on the last day when we needed the courtesy room

We arrived at reception for the room to be told we’d have to wait for another 3 family’s to use it first. Not great with young children when you’ve been promised you wouldn’t have to wait

We asked about 3 times whether we needed to book one and was told every time that we should turn up 5 minutes before as there is lots of different rooms

We should’ve had the option when we arrived to book or be told you could, this could be clearer as we missed out completely because of this

We opted for courtesy room as we had a late flight and didn’t fancy paying the €70 for 3 extra hours or €100 for 6 hours until 6pm

Al a carte restaurants advertised, but when we asked to book we were told they were finished after tomorrow, and fully booked

It's a great hotel with great and helpful staff, always smiling and with good energy, our family been more then happy for our stay here, I'm sure we will come back again 😀 😊 definitely a place to visit, you have beach 30 meters from the hotel too

Also the sun sets on the other side of the beach with is also beautiful. Overall we had an amazing week at Maleme Mare. We would highly recommend it if you’re after a week of relaxing in this friendly, family feel hotel

We would like to give a massive shout out to Aris who made an effort with us each day, what a lovely guy and we feel as though we’ve left with a friend. 3 nights a week there’s entertainment on at the bar

Sasha is always working hard and there’s a big selection of cocktails in the evening. By the end of the night everyone is up dancing and laughing. The food is perfectly presented and huge selection

Excellent place - good value for money. We had a great balcony overclooking the swimming pool, the apartament was comfortable and cosy. The swimming pool was perfect - clean, warm and deep (2.7m) We love it!

There were 3 bins in the room, which made it a lot easier to keep the room tidy. The bins were taken out everyday and beds were also made everyday. The kitchenette has most utensils and cooking equipment

Spaces in the car park appear to have been marked at different times, as some of the spaces block other cars in, which I'd witnessed, and on 1 of the nights I watched 2 cars drop people off and then leave because there weren't any spaces left

But at the beach front there are plenty of spaces, and that is a very short walk away from the back entrance of the hotel. It was very close to a shingle beach and a stretch of hotels and shops, and the tourist train

Fridge also had a freezer shelf. There was a dining table and chairs, a dressing table, a sofa bed to sleep 1 person, a double bed and on the balcony there was a small table and chairs. Balcony was of a decent size

I have been going there for the summer the last 3 years and I can say that they have made a really spendid job with making the rooms more modern and the hotel staff is very friendly in any situation!

If you want exceptional service, if you want to base yourself in a quality venue that makes touring Crete easy we had a car, but there is a good bus service The joy of staying at Asterion Suites & Spa is after a day of exploring or a night visiting Chania old town which is a must you have a sense of coming home to family and friends

The location of this hotel is excellent and the beach and sea here are fantastic. The service here is just outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. The dining room manager was fantastic

It really was some of the best service I've ever had and I travel extensively. The hotel is very clean; the cleaners do an excellent job. It's a very quiet, relaxing place. I found the evening barman somewhat sleazy!

This excellent quality and choices of food was also evident at breakfast time, the breakfast staff also amazing. All staff were incredible throughout the hotel, attentive and friendly and made us feel so welcome

The bathroom had a large walk-in shower; overall the room was luxurious and spotlessly clean. We were on a half-board basis, with the option of booking a table at the a-la-carte restaurant adjoining the main dining area

If you’re thinking of booking just do it! Pristine from start to finish in every way. Absolutely gorgeous food, beautiful rooms / drinks and just the most lovely helpful staff who cannot do enough for you

As compensation, the manager kindly upgraded our all-inclusive package to their best tier, which was a really thoughtful gesture and made a huge difference to the rest of our stay

I asked about the new hotel – what it was like, how many stars – and she told us it was 5-star. It was a 4-star hotel, and definitely not a good one

The most beautiful vacation! The spacious rooms, cleanliness, excellent and varied food, impeccable service, very welcoming staff, location in a quiet area with very nice view to the sea and the mountain

The hotel they sent us to was run-down and dirty – black mould on the walls, cracked tiles, and generally in a poor state. We were so upset and couldn’t believe this is where we were expected to stay for half our holiday

The woman on reception was rude, dismissive, and showed no care for our situation at all. She didn’t offer any solutions or alternatives within the hotel and just said we’d have to go to another hotel they had arranged

Just a warning to anyone thinking of staying here: the hotel is amazing, but the front desk staff are hit and miss. Some were fantastic, but others were incredibly rude and unprofessional

Friendly staff and excellent food and cocktails. If you want to enjoy a quiet holiday, go there. Rooms new and always clean everywhere

They have good option for all inclusive but if you want to explore beaches BB or HB is all you need, because the good ones are 1-2 hours dive in one direction from the hotel

I had no expectations because already once in Greece the hotel was a disaster despite the higher price and good reviews. But the hotel exceeded expectations. Beautiful quiet hotel, not far from the beach

I stayed there for 5 days with group of my friends. Rooms were clear and the equipment was everything we needed. Swimming pool and cocktails in bar were amazing too. Owners and staffs were very pleasant and nice to guest

I am one of the first customers of the season and the experience was unique. The personnel of the hotel is helpful, knowledgeable and professionals. The chef is skilled and I enjoyed the all inclusive food served to me

Keep in mind that the hotel is next to the main road, so naturally the (cheaper) rooms facing north (towards the road or "mountain view") are more noisy and sitting on the balcony is less pleasing

Very dated but good Aircon and nice size room

The terrace restaurant is open all day, they serve snacks but also fresh traditional Greek dishes and meat from the grill. Food is okay, on par with most tourist oriented restaurants in Maleme

The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, but well maintained and reasonably priced. The sea view/pool view room was quiet and had a very nice view from the balcony, especially in the evenings

The family and staff is very friendly and always helpful, they let us keep one of our rooms on checkout day free of charge so we could leave our luggage there and use the pool all day

I would recommend the Albatros as a base for exploring the island and the beaches, for hanging out at the pool in the afternoons/evenings and the occasional snack in the restaurant

A wonderful vacation, with the attitude of the staff and food as in the best 5-star hotel🤗 In my entire travel history, this is the first hotel that looks the same in real life as it does on the Internet

All inc was limited, only wines (red wine wasn't so good), beer and raki are included

The staff is friendly, you feel welcome in this hotel. The food is very tasty and varied. Rooms are clean, a special plus is the first coastline, our room was right on the beach 😍 The rating is definitely 5/5

If booking family rooms make sure you book one without stairs. Lovely hotel if you get the right room. Sunbeds are taken early morning. VERY busy main road, watch out, they don’t like stopping for pedestrians

We had a large clean superior room with lovely sea view,  it was so quiet (we didn't hear a thing from the other rooms), comfortable beds, bathroom was neat. Everything in the room was functioning smoothy

The beach a little stones but the hotel provides free deckchairs as well as canoes. Beach monitored by hotel volunteers as well as entertainment. Thank you all we had a very, very good week

We came as a family of 4 with a 4 year old and 3 month old. The hotel is decent for a family break. Pools and slides very good for the kids and for an all inclusive the food wasn’t too bad although repetitive

As other reviews state, snack bar serving pizza/gyros/burgers which is decent. Drinks mainly all self serve, typical for an all inclusive, local brands but ok

After this, I have to say a special thanks to…Maria ( I think) the guest relations manager was lovely and tried to make sure we were all ok and even gave our littleones a small gift to keep them busy at the airport

we did buy breakfast at the hotel but really we should of gone somewhere else as some of the hot food was cold. They put cold beans in the bambarine that when questioned they said it ok they will warm up in there

We picked this hotel to use the spa facilities as it would benefited my mum as she got leg problems, but we where told the this hotel doesn't do the spa treatment anymore and that was very disappointing

I did not use the Hotel restaurant as we preferred the one across the road as food and drink was much cheaper. There is also another restaurant at the back of the hotel. Also one near the pep ply beach

There is a small shop next to the hotel but it is not stocked up and it was disappointing because you could not buy much there. You have to ride on the bus to get to a Liddle store for self catering

You can get the bus to the next village it also goes to Chania as there is more shops and restaurant, hotels and you will find a sandy beach

If you do go in the water there it get deep quite quickly the beach is not manned or anything so it could be quite dangerous and isolating

The bottle of wine offered in the room, and the complimentary welcome cocktail drinks.

We spent the last night of our weeks holiday at this resort as a treat. The room was very good - very clean. Some excellent perks such as welcome drinks / cocktails and a bottle of wine

The breakfast was good but I was told I could not take my coffee out from the breakfast area - whatever we had had to be consumed there. Bearing in mind the pool can literally be 5 steps away from the breakfast area

Would we go back again - maybe - the layout and rooms and gifts were very good

The food choices are amazing, a massive buffet both at breakfast & dinner, although dinner varies every evening, according to themes (Greek, Grill, Italian. Room, bed and bedlinen were very comfortable

Beautiful hotel but poorly designed bathroom in our apartment. Pool was ice-cold (we went last week of the season though). Other than that, beautiful stay!

Overall a nice hotel. Breakfast is not included, which would be nice. Rooms are a little worn, but with nice facilities. Nice location next to the beach and a couple of stores and restaurants.

Unbelievable beautiful place!! Short walk to a beautiful beach, pool for small children, and 2 other pools. Bar at the pool, good food, great breakfast with what ever you want, yogurt, milk bread cornflakes

The rooms were also nice, with small kitchens equipped with everything you need for making food. The location was perfectly placed next to a shopping and dining street with all conceivable options available close by

We didn't try other hotels, but we imagine this being one of the best in the area

This is without a doubt the best all inclusive resort I have been to in a long while. The rooms, facilities, food, beverages, and most of all staff helpfulness is way beyond 5-star quality

The Wife and I spent a few nights nights here during our "babymoon" in early September. The place was very well kept, the 1st floor room was excellent walking right out to the pool

Plenty of umbrellas and chairs but not cluttered around the edge of the pool which is nice. Just a heads up the beach is loose, rounded rock like much of the coast but it's still very nice to swim and lay on chairs

Excellent hotel with delicious breakfast and very friendly staff (especially the younger receptionist). Tables to have breakfast lunch dinner basically on the beach. Comfortable and very clean rooms

Nice, friendly and easy. Good location close to everything. Nice view from the balcony. Not crowded when we visited in May. Don't forget ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise.

Excellent hotel! The rooms spacious with a lovely view of the pool, we could sit outside and relax or swim. Also the windows were soundproof so no matter the noise or music outside, the rooms were peaceful

The bartrender Angelo was an Angel from above. The bar was a pleasure to hang out, he is so friendly and make the best drinks I have ever drank. You have to visit and say Hello from Kimberlee to Angelo

We spent half of our honeymoon here we were welcomed with beautiful gifts and friendliness, the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean

Excellent food in the restaurant, a lot of dietary dishes for children, a variety of the diet were changed every day. Two nice pools with sea views. All the amenities in a walking distance. Will definitely go here again!

Good hotel and very helpful staff, the cleaningladies are very nice and happy! If you are there more than 7 days you will get tired of the breakfastbuffé let alone 7 days the juice ia barely juice and tastes very synthetic

We had a nice spacey room with sea view. We stayed there for one night, which was quite expensive, but for a family with kids this is definitely a place to visit. Very good bathroom and shower and good quality beds.

Hotel apt was clean and comfortable and staff is alwas nice and ready to help. Be aware the beach is not for children , it is really deep right after you step in the water

The hotel has its own parking and has plenty of restaurants nearby, beachfront as well as in the main street. The host is very friendly, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions for spending time around the island

It is a bit away from the town of Chania but with plenty of cafes, restaurants and several shops around

Everything was great from the beginning to end of our stay. The morning breakfast was normal with fresh orange juice at your disposal. The extremely nice part is the placement of this complex

Really nice hotel with plenty of good facilities and a great layout. The pool is enormous and well lit so it really stands out at night and the private beach is a lovely touch. The food does let it down though

The restaurant was open at almost any time and there were basically no restrictions. The kids loved the water slide. Although it was not big, there were not many people and they could enjoy it

Unfortunately, the temperature was relatively low in early May and there was a strong wind. Although the outdoor swimming pool was beautiful, it was not very swimmable

The buffet can become quite tiresome and repetitive and the food quality is certainly not the best

Wonderful, in every way! Close to the beach, Clean sandy beach and sea. The pool area is also nice and clean. Fits for couples and families, for anyone actually. The room were big enough and the bed was very comfortable

Martin from the animation/entertainment team was great! We all really enjoyed the daily darts game! Theodora (training captain) in the buffet restaurant was amazing, my 10 month old daughter absolutely loved her

Even outside the resort the local businesses were so friendly and not pushy for sales, in fact they gave us free drinks and gifts for our children! Can not recommend this resort and the area enough!

She went out of her way every time to help us. All the staff were so friendly and lovely which made our stay extremely memorable

Our first disappointment was the receptionist who could not be bothered to give us 100% of his attention during check-in; he was on the phone for a third of it, spent another third asking people behind us in line why they were here to see if he could have some "quick win" fixes and ended the check-in by speed running all the instructions of our stay and the resort map

These rushed explanations led to the misunderstanding of where to eat and what was included in the half-baked where the serving staff was much more well-mannered and even offered the two wines we ordered without knowing we would be paying for it

The buffet was well furnished with various options of meats, fish, salads, sides and desserts. Although there are vegetarian options, they are clearly less varied and refined

hile spacious and with a kitchenette, there are many shortcomings and defects that make it seem like a cheap hotel room as opposed to the luxury resort it is trying to be

So far, the experience is 50/50 but the reason I am making my review so early in my stay is due to something that won't change in our time here, the sub-par room

Time will tell if we get bored of the salad bar within our week long stay. The sea view from the main restaurant is very nice and quite peaceful

The best part of the hotel was it's view. We took a sea view room and it was perfect. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast at the restaurant waves had good variety even for vegetarians

The sea view with breakfast made it even more memorable. The Italian restaurant at the hotel is amazing too. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good stay for a reasonable price

Area very safe and secure, happy to walk around even late at night. Lots of excellent restaurants and shops very nearby, within easy walking distance. Little 'train trips' very worth doing

The rooms were spacious and clean, beds very comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location brilliant, very central on the main road and on the bus route, and near the Platanias bus stop

The location is very peacefull and is really good for chilling and taking a break from everything! We also bought the dinner buffet for every evening of our stay and it was the best choice

The hotel doesn not offer the entertainment options desired by most families and was therefore just visited by couples. If you are not by car a bus stop to Chania is just a 5 minute walk away

Drinks in the hotel bar are way overpriced paid 8€ for a cocktail that was served in a juice cup and was less than half full! In saying that accommodation is adequate, location is good as it's close to everything and bus service to Chania is brilliant at 2

Of the 10 nights we only had dinner twice in the hotel as the food was not of a good standard, this added extra costs to our holiday as we had to pay for dinner elsewhere

We were half board and would not book as half board again,breakfast is good with wide variety of options however dinner was a total disaster

Nice hotel in Platanias, very close to the beach. The restaurant is next to the beach, you can also overlook the Playground for the kids. There is a great "greek night" with dinner and show once a week

We stayed here a week with four Kids. Poolbar had good and quite good prizes. You could eat in the bar or in your room/balcony. Good location, quiet road on the side. Super market just other side of the road

Clean, comfortable and affordable room for a 3 star hotel, excellent menu, and pool bar,. it has 2 pools for children and adults

Well kept hotel and very clean. Beds were comfy, good pillows. 2 min walk to the main street with all the restaurant and shops. Then a further 4 min walk to the beach. The size of the apartment was a positive for us

Our room is a good size for two people and we have a nice sea view on the pool facing side. On this side there's no sun on the balcony until late afternoon. But it's a godsend as it's also nice when a breeze blows

Best assistance from the owners and room service. Localisation near the beach, tawerns and shops. Deep pool with the zone also for children, comfortable rooms with balcony, WI-Fi- ok
