Hotel Santa Maria

As good as always.

The location of the hotel is hard to beat. Rooms surround a peaceful courtyard full of orange trees. The staff on reception are incredibly helpful and friendly. The service at breakfast is great and the coffee is A+. The beds are firm and comfortable and the rooms & bathroom are spotlessly clean. I have stayed many times at this hotel, it is my first choice in Rome.

Fabulous few days in Rome made better by our stay at Hotel Santa Maria in the heart of the Trastevere district. Welcomed by a fabulously helpful reception team you will be brought to your own bijou ground floor room.

The hotel only does breakfast (perfect for those needing to fuel up for a walk around the many sites in Rome). There are dozens of fantastic restaurants within a 5 min walk so you will be spoilt for choice.

Highly recommend for anyone wishing to visit the wonderful sights that Rome has to offer.

The hotel is not located right in the heart of Rome, but it’s within a convenient distance to most historical sites. The surrounding area is filled with charming shops and delicious restaurants, making it safe and enjoyable to stay out late and return. The hotel itself has a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, almost like a resort. If you can enjoy happy hour in the garden during the summer, it would be absolutely fantastic. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly, like family.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Santa Maria, and after a week, still wake up every day wishing we could have their delicious breakfast and wonderful coffees. (Our favorite meal in Rome!) The hotel is an idyllic oasis set in a converted cloister with beautiful patios and terraces for relaxing - lined with orange trees. We loved the Trastevere location. It’s away from the most crowded part of Rome, yet easily accessible to nearly all the famed historic sites by foot. However, there is plenty in the area to explore and great dining options within steps of the front gate of the hotel. All who work there are kind, helpful and made our stay special from restaurant and tourist suggestions to arranging transportation to and from the airport they were just wonderful. It was a perfect stay.

What a lovely hotel! It is a wonderful place - not your typical hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with the charming layout. The rooms were spotless! The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful. The best we came across in Italy.

You cannot be the location. It's a little hard for the taxis to get to, but do not let that deter you. Once you are there, you will be in the heart of one of Rome's charming areas, with wonderful restaurants and vibrant people. I wish we had been able to stay longer.

Santa Maria Hotel Rome was a perfect oasis to base ourselves in Rome, being in Trastevere we were in food heaven with many local eateries at our doorstep! Our room had a traditional welcoming feel that make us feel at home. The internal courtyard was perfect for our son to run around, and also to have an afternoon cocktail and play some board games. 5pm cocktail hour with free food was a lovely surprise and a great way to start the evening. The service was extremely attentive and genuine - Eduardo went out of his way to accommodate all our needs during our stay. Thank you Hotel Santa Maria - we loved our stay, and we will definitely be back!

We were in Italy for three weeks, and of all the accommodations we had, the Santa Maria was hands down our favorite place. The staff was warm, welcoming, efficient, helpful, and fun. The Spritz was the best we had for our entire trip. The food was lovely, the quiet and relaxed atmosphere was pure heaven. To be honest, the Hotel Santa Maria was the best hotel experience I've had in at least 15 years. Bravo.

We loved our stay at Hotel Santa Maria in the Trastevere neighborhood of Roma & would definitely stay there again! The staff was incredibly kind & helpful in every manner. They made us feel like family and assisted in allowing us safety, privacy and comfort. Top notch customer service with clean and comfortable accommodations, tasty snacks, breakfasts, cocktails and wine!

A relaxing peaceful oasis in the heart of Rome - I will absolutely stay here again. The rooms are comfortable and the location is fantastic - walking distance to everything. My sister and I stayed in the “Junior Suite’ which was perfect for the 2 of us. They served a great breakfast and even offered a complimentary happy h with snacks. (And they make an awesome Aperol Spritz!).

But what most impressed me was the service. Everyone was so kind and welcoming…they really went out of their way for us. I absolutely loved this gem of a hotel. Thank you to all of the staff of Hotel Santa Maria!!!
