Generally good, but it is a fairly old hotel, without an elevator, the beds are not very comfortable and breakfast starts quite late (8:30). The location is good

The bed was quite large and very comfortable. The bathroom had a nice power shower with a modern spa-style set up with various jets, so was great for the end of a day spent walking around all the canals. It was very warm, despite the time of year, and the rooms were cleaned daily. We arrived at the most expensive hotel (AU$1600 for 3nts, 2 adults) we had ever stayed at, there was no lift to our room on the 1st floor. I struggled to carry 2 suitcases with no assistance from the gentleman in reception up to the 1st-floor room. This would be very difficult if we were older & unable to carry our cases. Very nice inn! Small but cute! Upon arrival we were greeted by a lady, very kind and friendly! In the morning a buffet breakfast is served, a buffet with little choice, but what it contains is enough to make a good breakfast! The price is really competitive compared to most structures, also given the location which is really a stone's throw from San Marco. We just arrived today and it's the first hotel in Italy that can actually accommodate our party of 3 a bit more comfortably. Nice location close to everything but off the bustle of the Grand Canal.

Location was great. At a ferry stop so easy to get to and close to walk to just about anywhere. The hotel itself is just OK - nothing to write home about. The breakfast is the morning was great. Third time staying here. Sept 29th & 30th. It’s one of the best locations in Venice. Some what away from the intensity of the centre of the city but close enough to make it to Saint Marks Square (if that’s your thing) in 20 minutes walking. The staff was amazing and the location is great! The hotel is charming, but if you are looking for a modern place go somewhere else. My room was quiet and very clean. My breakfast was great. I left Venice and when I returned, I was booked at another hotel. The other place was fine, but I regret that I did not stay here again. I hope to return next year for a longer vacation!

The room is very big, the breakfast is OK, and it is 100 meters away from Piazza San Marco. The boat taxi to the hotel is 90 euros, and the hotel back to the pier is 100 euros.

The location is excellent, just one minute walk to Piazza San Marco... There is a water taxi pier to get in and out of the hotel to the airport or train station, which is very convenient and saves the trouble of dragging luggage. The breakfast is OK and the air conditioning is sufficient, which is very important in the summer in Italy.

As charming as it gets! Stern was absolutely charming. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean and well appointed. The downstairs bar was wonderful. Palazzo Stern, a boutique hotel right on the Grand Canale in the Dorsodoro sestierè, was a wonderful spot in May.The outdoor terrace for breakfast and dinner is romantic and magical, a front row seat to Venetian day time water life and nighttime beauty. Our room was well appointed and immaculate. The hotel’s location is optimal, easy walking to all sights and far less crowded than main tourist areas

The hotel has a good location, but you still need to cross a long bridge to get out of the central train station, which is inconvenient for those with large luggage. The hotel has its own water taxi station, and the front desk is friendly and can help you book a taxi. The hotel room was nice, but the water pressure was too low.

Well maintained, clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price point. Location can't be beat -- only a couple minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. Staff is super friendly. Only downside was that the [included] breakfast buffet was a pretty mediocre and exactly the same every single day with no variation (and scrambled eggs were dry).

We had a short but very comfortable stay at Albergo San Marco. The location is absolute prime, 50m from the heart of Venezia. The service was impeccable in every aspect (loved the kind attention the housekeeper had for our little girl) and the rooms are tastefully renovated. Great value for money.

Because its ornate arches, murky canals and stunning buildings give one the impression that they have been taken back in time, back to a place where iPhone-wielding tour groups and picture-decorated menus didn't exist, and nowhere in Venice encapsulates this better than the Piazza San Marco!

The hotel was great. Easy check-in, very helpful staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable room. Only complaints were the shower was tiny ( for a 6’2” person) and there was no safe for valuables in the room. The location is really good, just a couple of minutes walk to the Grand Canal vaporetto stop and there is lots of dining at all price points nearby.

The scenery of Venice is great. This hotel is located in the center of the main island, and it is relatively convenient to walk anywhere. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the train station. The hotel is relatively old (all hotels on the island are old buildings), so there is no elevator. You have to walk up the stairs with your luggage to the room.
