We're Canadian, and stayed here while in Venice and took a two-day trip to Rome. One of the gentlemen working the counter wanted us to leave our key behind but I didnt feel comfortable doing that. I guess thats a "thing" with older hotels in Italy.
I liked the room with a balcony and the vintage furniture and decor. Showers needed better pressure but the breakfast was great.
This is a 3 star hotel at best. The rooms are bare bones and in desperate need of update. I wasn’t expecting a huge bathroom, but I could barely fit into the shower. The shower head was broken spraying water in all directions, there weren’t any outlets unless you unplugged other necessary items, and I’m pretty sure the hairdryer predated 1980. Overall, just kind of dingy and not a place you look...
Nice location. 2 minutes walk to Railway station and 30 seconds to grand canal.
location: about 13 mins walk from one of the train stations. close to restaurants and attractions.
breakfast: good selection.
cleanliness: room and bathroom were clean.
An old hotel at a very good location included breakfast.
We reported the shower head broken the 1st night. But we found it was not replaced after we were out for a whole day. We stayed for 2 nights using the broken shower head!
Check in and out was very easy and we were provided a map with some good details. It's in a perfect location about a 5 minute walk from the train station. The bed was comfortable but the shower was a little cramped. The A/C worked well and the breakfast was very good. We would stay here again.

Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa

Enchanting building and amazing staff. From spa services, to delicious coffee and hot milk, the rooms and furnishings, and the care of the staff, everything was perfect!
The Bauer Palladio was away from the maddening crowds of St Marco's square. After 2 weeks on the cruise ship and crowds in Rome and Athens a bit of peace and quiet appreciated before our flight home. A converted 16th century convent. An architectural gem.
Nice rooms and friendly staff, beautiful setting. However food could be better and pool was too cold to swim in.
Our second time staying at this INCREDIBLE property. This trip we had an AMAZING villa in the garden section with our own private patio. Tranquil, quiet and relaxing...this property is a botanical heaven and is like having Versailles in the middle of Venice!! This is a beautiful hotel whose sister property is across the canal with free private boat shuttle back and fourth throughout the day and...
This hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The gardens were an amazing relaxing place to have a coffee, the rooms were small but beautiful as well. The bathroom was stunning, with a great bathtub. It included room service and turn down service. The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was good. Being on a smaller island was not as convenient as being on the main island but the bonus is the food and drink...

Location is prime just on the side of San Marco basilica. The entrance of the hotel is from the back side. The only downside they don’t have an elevator from the ground to level 0 where the reception is located, so if checking in late hours there won’t be anyone to help carry the luggage.

We had a fantastic day in Venice, and the Concordia was a part of making it easy and beautiful!!
Shortly after our booking… The hotel staff reached out with a super professional email offering to help us plan our trip in anyway possible… I was so pleasantly surprised at their proactive approach to guest relations!

Beautiful hotel, perfectly located for St Marks square and the main ferry stops. Compact rooms (in our case) but extremely beautiful, clean and comfortable. Staff were fantastic. My only gripe is that the drinks and food here were completely over the top price wise compared to local restaurants and bars which is a shame as we would have eaten here and stopped at the bar more if it were more in line...
The hotel is located right next to St. Mark’s Square, which made everything incredibly convenient.
It has a chic and calm atmosphere — elegant without being too formal.
All the staff were kind and helpful throughout my stay.
I would definitely love to stay here again on my next visit to Venice.
Our favourite go to location in Venice!
Stayed at this hotel on a previous occasion, and nothing has changed! Still the same outstanding service and attention to detail. Cannot go past the location, right outside the back door of the basilica. If you’re looking for a place to stay that is right in the centre of Venice, look no further.

I was pleasantly surprised from the hotel. The location is perfect. I stayed in a superior double room on the first floor, it was spacious, stylish, beds extra comfortable, very very clean. Even though the room was overlooking restaurants and bars, no noise was heard from outside or from the rooms next door.
The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent.

It was simply amazing. The staff, the rooms were exceptional. The Breakfast Bar in the morning was exceptional. There are no negatives here, this hotel deserves a 5+ rating. I'm planning another trip and this will be where I am staying. Everything was perfect
Lovely hotel on pier front. Very accessible by water taxi to hotel front or water ferry to Marco polo stop and short walk down pier side. Lovely food. Service perfect. Sky bar amazing for views. Fabulous. Lovely shutters on windows for total blackout.
Wonderful hotel! Nice location on the grand canal and the views from the rooftop bar are amazing! Highly recommend a water taxi from the train station as the walk includes so many bridges without ramps for rolling luggage (the distance is not so bad without luggage, but the up and down with several bags got old). Great place to stay and explore the city!
Fantastic family run hotel the staff were really friendly and attentive. The room was beautifully styled and clean. Breakfast was a classical European style. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Great location not too far away from main attractions, yet just far away for a peaceful stay coupled with fantastic views of the lagoon.
Good location. Very tired inside needs a refurb. Would consider it more 3 star than a 4 star hotel .

A good, well-kept, clean, modern hotel. It is located close to the center, but far from the Accademia Bridge. If you need to cross to the San Marco side, you can use a gondola-minibus for 2 € during the day, and at night you can walk to the bridge, although it does not take much time - about 15-20 minutes.

I went there during the peak tourist season, and it cost 1,436 euros, plus the city tax of 3.5 euros, so it's okay overall.
Very nice staff and assistance. Good location for getting dropped off by water taxi directly from train station with heavy luggage. Very fast elevator was much appreciated.
Hotel is located in a very quiet area of Venice. Just a 10 minute walk to Doge Palace and restaurants. We loved it. Very safe area. Staff was excellent and room was clean and modern.
We made a perfect choice in staying at the Salute Palace for our four night January visit. The location is ideal, surrounded by great bar and restaurant choices, and in easy walking distance to San Marco and all areas and sites in Venice. Our room was large and bright and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The staff, especially Tudor, were all friendly and helpful in making sure our stay...
Good service and facilities. The room was large and comfortable. The location was a little outside of the main area, however, we liked that it was quiet and still within walking distance to all of the popular tourist destinations. The location is convenient. The front desk staff was very nice and arranged everything for me. The hotel is always very historical, so the facilities are relatively old, but overall it is clean. It is a good choice.

Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal — where the view makes all the difference
You couldn’t ask for a better location — right on the Grand Canal, a few steps from Piazza San Marco, where Venice truly feels alive.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff, clean and cozy rooms and perfect location. Extraordinary breakfast with unforgettable view and atmosphere, right on the Grand canal’s shore. We really enjoyed relaxing on the terrace on sunny autumn day 👍 Only the breakfast selection could have been wider, but still fine. Definitely worth money and staying.
Location is good. Service is more or less, as our luggage was taken to the room of our friends, even though we separated the luggage beforehand. It was very convenient because you could take a water taxi directly to the hotel. You can also take a gondola right in front of the hotel, and it is very close to St. Mark's Square. There was an Italian who could speak Japanese, and the staff were all very kind. There was no conditioner or toothbrush, but I didn't mind. The room was very nice.
Truly 5 stars.
Literally one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever been to in my 63 years of traveling the world. The location, the food, the artworks, the rooms, the staff! Everything was superb. I was with my mother and aunt, both are very particular about their standards and we were all equally impressed.
I came here 20 years ago as a kid with my parents and remember having a great time. Came back with my partner and had a wonderful experience. It’s romantic and the oriental bar and breakfast are amazing. Have fun!
The Metropole offers a sumptuous interior -- plush velvets, stunning flower arrangements and a collector's treasure trove on display -- in a perfect location. Best of all the staff is impeccable in their courtesy and efficiency. We have been coming for five years now and cannot recommend this hotel more highly
Amazing romantic hotel, very clean with high standards, spacious rooms with good menus and food, and a great location for venturing out and going on walks. Perfect for a city break. views, all in all - 'excellent'!
The art collection and history still make this a fantastic experience, but definitely getting a bit tired.

The hotel is very upscale, the rooms are spacious, and there is a large garden leading to the back door directly to the lagoon. Breakfast and dinner can be served outdoors or indoors. However, there are mosquitoes outdoors due to the dense greenery. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk to Piazza San Marco, but passing the main street, there are shops on both sides, so it is not monotonous.
Wonderful hotel with truly lovely courtyard and amazing gardens. Had a full itinerary during our 5 night stay and so did not spend much time in the hotel itself, but it is grand, venetian style building magnificently furnished. The environment is very good, but it is just that you need to go up and down 4 stairs to get to the train station. The hotel booked a taxi boat to the station for 80 Euros per boat. If you are not physically fit/have a limited budget, it is recommended to choose a hotel closer.
The hotel is beautiful and well-decorated, with an elegant blend of classic and modern styles. However, its location is a bit far from the main attractions. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the staff, who were extremely polite and attentive.

We really liked this hotel. The location was perfect, city center. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The service was very friendly, they helped us with everything. The breakfast was very tasty. We will definitely recommend this hotel. You are the best!
Great location! Very comfy bed and the room was fantastic!! The breakfast is super yummy with lots of bits to choose from. We had a problem with our Aircon but the hotel staff were very attentive and got it fixed right away.
We stayed on 11 May 2025 for one night. Overall a great experience. Some suggestions
1) Hotel needs a better sign for people to figure out the name
2) The Map they provide does not help in navigating because I could not see most of the landmarks mentioned on the map
3) Better services for housekeeping
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We liked it so much that we didn’t want to leave.
A very good hotel! It lives up to the advertised quality!
Very cozy and clean rooms! The staff is extremely professional.
Breakfast is also good, although I would improve it a little.
Thank you, guys, for your hospitality!

From the Doge suite, the Grand canal can not be seen from bed, couch or chairs. The only way to see the Grand canal is to stand by the windows since all the windows start at chest height, which for me was very disappointing. The AC works very well and is very quiet.
Love the place. They have very accomodating and friendly staff who go the extra mile to help their guests.
Told the staff that if I will stay there again next time. Right in front of the train station (although need to walk about 10mins round the old buildings and cross a bridge to the train station). Free tour to Murano to see glass blowing at a factory. Breakfast was very good.
Checking out was...
Surprisingly, we were able to take a free private boat to Murano Island, and even had an instructor accompany us to tour the Venetian glass workshop and the attached glass shop (which is more like a museum). The private boat only runs in the morning, once every 30 minutes, and one instructor is assigned to each person on that trip. Luckily, the instructor on our trip was very fluent in Japanese, so...
The frontdesk and bellboy is very helpful with check in and toursit information. There is no lift, but luckily frontdesk manage to arrange someone to help us on the luggage move in when check in and check out. Located Just beside main riverside.
We are more than pleased with this great hotel ,all of the wonderful people who work there are amazingly gracious and kind ,always willing to go the extra mile and then more. This will be our hotel of choice from here on our .The location in reference to the rest of Venice is great ,very close to the train station ,as well as any type of food you may want .Was one of if not the Best experience I have...
Perfect location, it takes about 5 mins walk from the train station. Room is clean.
Receptionist was a bit too over zealous to up sell us. Other than that is fine.
