Hotel Tate in Budva

There’s a reason why this boutique hotel is so exceptionally rated. I’d personally give it a 9.9/10 (Booking) 4.9/5 (Google) only because everything in this world has room for improvement, though I honestly can’t find a single fault here.

Family-run businesses are often the very best, and this hotel is a perfect example. From the amazing staff and spotless rooms to the exceptional service, delicious cuisine, complimentary snacks and drinks, cosy fitness suites, and convenient underground parking—everything is truly top-notch.

The only thing missing is being right on the beach; however, it’s just a pleasant 5-minute walk from the hotel, which hardly takes away from the experience.

I would 100% book this place again if I return to Budva—without a second thought.

I cannot express how much the service at Tate hotel is incredible. The staff made us feel so welcome and took care of us extremely well. The breakfast was amazing, 3 courses!! The room is spacious with a balcony and the pool, spa and gym have everything one would need. We loved it so much we wanted to extend by one night but there was no availability, which is a good sign! Thank you Tate and Igor for the excellent stay.

You absolutely must stay here. The location is perfect to be able to access the waterfront. The owner is incredibly generous and welcoming. Igor was so thoughtful and helpful getting us checked in and made a restaurant recommendation. All of his staff provided excellent service. The beds are the most comfortable we experienced all over the Balkans. Be prepared for an exceptional breakfast the next morning. We will definitely be having this hotel be part of our next trip to the area!

We spent a week here with my partner, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. At first, we were only looking for a standard 4-star hotel with breakfast and a sea view – but we received so much more:

✅ Breakfast: incredibly generous portions with homemade flavors – every day we were asked if we would like something extra or customized.
✅ Food: authentic, homemade dishes with unique character, nothing felt store-bought.
✅ Service: 24/7 access to snacks, cold drinks, and coffee – a small touch that made a huge difference.
✅ Flexibility: our special requests (arriving with a car, trailer, and motorcycle together, late check-in, gluten-free needs) were handled with kindness and ease.
✅ Hospitality: the host was always attentive, helped us with program ideas, and truly made us feel like we were visiting family.

Overall: this was an exceptionally warm, caring, and welcoming stay. Highly recommended to anyone who values genuine hospitality and a memorable experience.

Perfect Hotel. At arrival we were greeted by a super friendly host. The check-in was very quick. The room was beautiful with a nice bathroom and small balcony with a view on Budva. The amenity including a pool, jacuzzi and a gym were great. All day-snacks were also provided. Breakfast amazing. We would have stayed one more day but sadly everything was completely booked out. The guy at the reception offered us to give us a good hotel nearby with a similar price which we then accepted and also completely happy with. Would come here definitely again.

Breakfast was excellent, staff was very helpful with any requests or questions, very patient.
Room was clean and very new, nicely styled.
A bit of a walk from the main street and beach but that's also part of the magic and quiet of the place.

The best hotel experience we had in Montenegro, and we stayed in some very nice hotels, so that's saying something.
We arrived after being stuck for 3 hours due to a demonstration on the way there.
They didn't just wait for us, they also decided to upgrade our room to make us feel better, and they opened the spa earlier the next day so we can enjoy it before we had to leave to the airport.
Breakfast was amazing, with fresh orange juice and a wide variety of good cheeses, and the fact that they have snacks and cereals available until 11pm was a real life saver for us, as we didn't have the energy to go look for a restaurant after the long drive.
The hotel is close to the beach, and there are several restaurants and clubs in a short walking distance.
We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Montenegro!

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Tate in Budva and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel itself is modern, clean and very comfortable, with well-equipped rooms and excellent, fast WiFi throughout the building — perfect if you need to stay connected during your trip. Breakfast was a real highlight each morning, with a generous selection of cereals, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses and eggs — something for everyone.

The location is also great: about a 10-minute walk to the seafront and around 30 minutes to the old town of Budva. It strikes a nice balance between being peaceful and still within easy reach of everything.

There are some lovely extra touches too, like free coffee, cakes and snacks available throughout the day, and a small pool, gym and sauna on site (although we didn’t use the pool as it was a little too cold during our early April visit). The lift to all floors also makes it a good option for those with limited mobility.

Most of all, the staff and hosts really made the stay special. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with things like car hire or suggestions for places to visit and things to do in the local area.

Overall, Hotel Tate is a brilliant choice for a stay in Budva — we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tate. All staff were friendly, warm, and could answer any questions we had. The room is a good size and has a balcony! Decor is modern. Breakfast was amazing; meat, cheese, eggs, pancakes, fresh orange juice , and continental breakfast was on offer. We also made good use of the sweet, coffee, yogurts, and fruits are available all day. The pool, sauna, gym, and Jacuzzi are clean and maintain.
