Reviews
This is only if you are looking for a survival place to sleep. No wifi in the room also.
Personal is friendly but other than that nothing is good!
Unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worse when I forgot my backpack on the terrace where breakfast is served. After realizing my mistake just 10 minutes later, I returned to find that my bag had been delivered to the reception. Upon inspecting its contents, I discovered that someone had tampered with the bag, and I was missing 200€.
When I approached the reception to address the issue, the only response I received was a simple apology. I was left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied, as a mere apology did not suffice in such a situation.
It's important for the hotel to take responsibility for the security of guests' belongings.
I dont recommend this Hotel and i will never go back again!
1. Outstanding Customer Service:The staff at Dundar Hotel went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. In particular, Rita at the hammam was exceptionally welcoming and kind. Nyfe and Malik played pivotal roles in promptly addressing our every need/concern, making our stay hassle-free
2. Blissful Hammam Experience: The hotel's hammam, complete with a sauna and steam room, provided us with a truly blissful experience. It's worth noting that access to this facility is available for a fee after 6 PM.
3. Convenient Location:Dundar Hotel is perfectly located, just a 2-minute walk from the Grand Bazaar. Additionally, there are charming small bazaars nearby, along with excellent food spots and dessert shops, all within a 5-minute walk or just one tram ride away.
4. Well-Equipped Rooms: The rooms at the hotel come with a mini fridge, air conditioning, and an iron. Upon request, a kettle is also provided.
5. Proximity to Istanbul's Landmarks: Dundar Hotel is within very close walking distance to iconic attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Moreover, the Beyazit Jami Mosque is just a minute away, making it a perfect choice for those who wish to attend prayers.
6. Responsive to Guest Requests: The hotel staff is attentive to guests' needs, including providing water promptly upon request. The reliable Wi-Fi connection and efficient lifts further contribute to a convenient stay.
**Cons:**
1. Toilet Ventilation: The absence of proper ventilation in the toilets can be an issue, as it can lead to unpleasant odors.
2. Swimming Pool Water Temperature: I found the swimming pool's water temperature to be less warm than expected.
3. Breakfast Variety: While the breakfast is decent, a wider variety of fruits and breakfast items could enhance the dining experience.
4. Cigarette Smoke Odor: I have noted a strong cigarette smell in certain areas, which was unpleasant.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the convenience of the location and customer service!
over the phone, a day prior to my flight I doubled checked mad it was again confirmed.Intold them my flight will land 21pm and my check in will be late.
On arrival at 0030am, these liers denied dates and booking. Later kept saying your booking is not on the system??
Clearly they sold it off, with no shame.
At the middle of the night we had to go door to door to other hotels dragging our luggage tiered n furious for another last minute booking had to pay higher rates.
Would never recommend to stay here.
Turkish tourist authorities should take action against such service.
Disliked · in the order from worst to least worse: 1. cleanliness was the worst: stained or dirty sheets, pillow faces and towels. we asked for the room service to change the sheets and everything on the bed in the morning(we arrived at 1:00 a.m) and the towels and the bed was just tidied, but nothing was changed and the towels were “fresh”, but equally dirty and not enough - just one shower and one face towel in a double room. Also regarding to cleanliness, the shower drain was full of hair so the shower was overflowing into the whole bathroom and almost into the room.
2. the shower glass was missing; you could see the fixings and the remains from the broken glass, but the glass was not replaced. that was very inconvenient because you would splash water everywhere easily (on top of the clocked drain)
3. The safe was locked open. Probably someone before locked it while the door was opened making it useless. asked if it could be fixed, but we were told it would take a long time before they could find someone that would know how to fix it.
4. Very small wardrobe. It had only one, with 8 hangers and no space for folded clothes. no space for coats and no space for shoes. we had to stay with our clothes in our luggage the entire time
5. poor breakfast, both in variety and diversity from one day to the next. we ate 5 times the breakfast and every time the “menu” was the same. just 2 types of cold cuts, sort of salami, some sausages, boiled eggs, tomatoes and cucumbers. a couple of types of fruits, some yogurt with corn flakes and that was it. the juice was not fresh, the tea was good, but the coffee was of poor quality.
6. god forbid to fall asleep with the bathroom door open or keep it like that, because it would smell so bad, that neither the open window nor the ventilation could get rid of it
