Horrible experience. Racist hotel staff be aware!!

I am Turkish myself and I’m embarrassed for my own people . I came to this hotel with my mother. I live in the united state and my English is fluent. Upon arrival everything went amazing.
Next morning I joined breakfast and was looking around to see what they have . A female chef was present at the time fixing the buffet. I could hear her speak in Turkish saying “ omg what is so difficult to pick don’t you see the food “ she didn’t know I understood what she was saying .

Nobody was in the room just me her and my mother . She thought I was Arabic and Didn’t understands her language . I felt very offended.’
She was very rude . Once I told her that I was Turkish she immediately apologized.
She said she thought I was a dirty Arabic tourist.
O M G. I was very offended because I don’t tolerate that type of treatment for anyone .

Management tried to come to my room to apologize and bring me a cake . She told me that she thought I was Arabic . This shows me that this is a problem with management. I could be white, black, Chinese Arabic, or any nationality this type of treatment is not OK. You should not talk down on anybody doesn’t matter if they speak the language or not it make me feel very unwelcome.

Next day I was sleeping in my room and a random employee entered my room while I was sleeping without knocking on my door .

I felt so violated
I don’t recommend this hotel. All the employees are racist. This is unacceptable. They do not like people of color or people from Saudi Arabia. Manager Felt comfortable enough to tell me this thinking that I will be OK with this treatment.

Terrible hotel, horrible experience.
2 star for room as very basic.
Reception staff unhelpful, unaccomodating, not willing to help. Their sole purpose is to rob you off more money , they charge much more than what's on the website. They wouldn't return our deposit until we found the last room key. We booked 4 nights and 2 rooms foe each night.
It is the worse hotel in Istanbul... road broken, no where to park, all you shoes get muddy before you walk into the hotel.
Rather than accommodating the guests for the inconvenience, the staff at reception are anything but friendly, helpful or willing to facilitate guests.

Terrible hotel, this is not a proper 5 star place. Firstly they ask for a £100 deposit per room, which seemed unreasonable. After looking through reviews, the hotel like to accuse people of taking from the mini bar and if you refuse to pay, they will take from the deposit. The hotel tried to accuse us of doing the same. Secondly, the rooms weren’t up to scratch. There’s no proper lighting so it seems dingy, there is mould below the sink in the bathroom and none of the plug sockets hold up any plugs, they’re constantly falling out. The images used on their sites aren’t true to real life. Thirdly, cleaning of the rooms is not done well, the cleaners also like to throw away items without permission. This includes spare room key cards (which they charge you for if you lose). We also had an item stolen from our rooms, when we reported this to the staff, they stated nothing showed up on CCTV so there was nothing they could do. Obviously nothing showed up on the cameras in the corridors when it was taken from the room, why bother saying this in the first place. They refused to take responsibility for this either, they stated their only responsibility was towards the items in the safe and nothing else. This implies everything in the room is up for grabs ? We suspect the cleaners have been taking items and also from the mini bar. Lastly upon checking out, when we said all this happened, the staff were defensive and argumentative. This is not the customer service provided by a 5 star hotel. Please don't book this place, it’its a complete scam

We stayed here for 7 days and it was quite pleasant. The rooms were clean and the service staff was very helpful. Even though the furniture has aged quite a bit and might need a refresh.

Above all the staff in the spa and gym area were super nice. Both are equipped pretty good.

I’d say the hotel is best a 4* hotel though. Breakfast was not that special. There’s 2-3 cafes which are direct neighbors.

What has ruined our experience however was the staff at the counter while checking out. Their trainee destiny was super helpful and nice but made a small mistake when mentioning that the snack basket in the room was free. We took out some nuts thinking that it was free. The day after she came to apologize for her mistake and we were fine with it.

At the check out the guy at the service who was informed about her mistake wanted to charge us for the nuts (8€ for a realistically 50ct snack) or they would subtract it from her wage. He threatened us that if we wouldn’t pay they would have to cut the wage of their young trainee.

What kind of miserable management is that? Why would they not stand in for their employee?? Poor girl… he did not even apologize on her behalf. I would not work for an employer like this…. Really poor management.
