Value for money!
When I arrived they couldn’t find my reservation and they started between each other in arabe but I get just two English words ‘no show’ that means that they assumed I wouldn’t be here.
But I was. And I wrote to advise for late check in! Than they asked me to whait for a while (after long trip from Mombasa) then we proceeded to check in.
They asked my passport and the deposit of 300 aed, payed by cash or credit card. I don’t use credit card but just debit and I had with me only Kenyan Kes and a few euros. They said I couldn’t get my room until I paid the deposit so I had to go to the nearest atm (just 200 m but I was really tired and frustrated because they didn’t give me the opportunity to postpone the deposit for a few hours I also kindly asked to take my passport If they don’t trusted me.
Finally, around 6 am, I get my room!
I was really tired so I get a shower and I was looking for a camomile before sleep. But no cup was on the room. So no camomile or the.
The second day cups and plates glasses and cutlery have been provided even If I didn’t asked to be honest.
The 3th day I tryed to use the washing machine (not really last model, it has minimum 20 yeas) but was out of order.
For the last day I asked for a late check out and they agreeded for 200 aed, it was ok for me to pay so no problem.
I went to reception for check out around 5 pm and they kindly asked to wait to give me back my 300 aed deposit because they need to check the room before! Was so humiliating.
Never in my life.
I can accept they have to, but don be explicit with the customer, just ask ‘to wait for a while’ or been generic.
I felt like a kids waiting her mom checking if he did it some trouble.
Very very disappointed
While the Golden Sands 5 Hotel boasts decent rooms and edible food, my overall experience was marred by several factors. First, the front desk staff lacked the warmth and hospitality I expect from a good establishment.
But the most frustrating aspect of my stay was the outrageous water policy. Imagine being in Dubai, known for its scorching temperatures, and being limited to a single, complimentary bottle of water per room for your entire 4-day stay! Every additional bottle set you back a whopping 10 AED. It's an essential amenity that even budget hotels provide freely, making Golden Sands' policy feel like a cheap trick to squeeze more money out of guests.
For a hotel that supposedly prioritizes luxury, this felt like a major letdown. If you're looking for a truly good experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I recently stayed at your hotel and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The highlight of my stay was definitely the amazing big breakfast offered. It was delicious and provided a great start to my day. The hotel itself was very clean, including the rooms and the nice pool area, which also offered an amazing view. Additionally, the staff were always smiling and seemed genuinely friendly.
However, there was one aspect of my stay that was disappointing. Towards the end of my vacation, I encountered an issue in the lobby. I wanted to put only one bag inside my luggage, but a member of your staff informed me that it wasn't allowed. While I understand the need for certain rules, I felt that the way she addressed me was somewhat unpleasant, and it left a negative impression.
Overall, I enjoyed my time at your hotel and would consider staying again in the future. However, I hope that minor issues like the one I experienced can be addressed to ensure a consistently positive guest experience.
- Reception manager was not co operative at all. We ask for any help he just denied straightly without any try also.
