Location: in the town of Bansko, 160 km from the airport of Sofia and 145 km from the airport of Plovdiv, 350 m from the ski lift. There is a free Shuttle-bus to the gondola station.

Here with a ski package operator.
It is all fine. Nothing amazing but nothing poor.
Staff are locals, so getting a smile is like blood from a stone. But they have been trained to try and help.
Pool was chaos in the evening.
Food was hot and no problems.
The ski lift van was busy and slow, unpredictable times. We walked it took a taxi, was about 1km, fine in shoes, with no skis.
Compared to the other local hotels, this was one of the best.

We spent a week over Christmas day at The Lion Hotel. It was amazing. The staff were great, the room was huge and the cleaner did a great job.

Nice , clean good hotel
Rooms a little bit outdated, but still ok
Swimming pool, sauna, aroma sauna, steam room, relax area 👍🏼
For me was too cold in sauna , so I was using only steam room 🤷🏼♂️
Dinner 🍽️ was different every evening, and really good 👍🏼
Same boring "English" breakfast every morning
Overall recommend it 👍🏼

Short walk from the gondola lift and main bars and restaurants.
Room is kept very clean
Pool is small but good.
Management are abrupt and seemingly unhelpful but men do convey that lack of emotion in Bulgaria.
Reception staff are as helpful as they can be given language constraints.
Food here is good.

Great hotel! The food is amazing and the variety everyday is great. Really enjoyed going to the spa after a long day of skiing, good location and close to the gondola. Rooms are spacious and staff are friendly too. I would definitely recommend!

Easy walk 7 minute to the Gondola or they have a complimentary minibus if you prefer.
The bed was comfy and rooms are very large. Only downside is the walls are very thin and you can hear people coming back at night.
The food was very tasty and varied each night. The buffet area is quite small but don't be out off, all the food is well cooked and flavourful. Each night had enough of a variety to ensure we were still enjoying the food after 7 nights. Breakfast is very good and set you up for a day on the slopes/hiking.

Warm and clean hotel with good Food and nice Spa. There are two fireplace în the lobby which are used every evening and make a special atmosphere.
The reception team is also great. We need to leave earlier and they offered to put us food packages.

Only good thing about this place was the spa and location.
We got dirty towels, they had holes in them, some days our rooms weren’t serviced. The service was blunt and rude. The buffet was fine but not great for vegetarians.
The lift closed in on my friend, which would have seriously injured a child. This happened throughout the week- a serious health hazard.
Overall it’s a basic hotel close to the gondola but the service and attitude was so awful it made everything else infuriating.

Rooms are spatious enough. Food is good or very good with local and some international dishes. There are no reading lights by the bed side and due to the dim lights in the room it is difficult to read. The lobby area could benefit from a better ambiance. Internet service is BAD with wireless service not providing Internet access despite good wireless coverage. The hotel has a spa/sauna, but there are no towel robes provided in the rooms. There is a shuttle service that runs continuously from the hotel to the cabin lift and back.

Location is very good and there is a free shuttle which takes you to the Gondola in 5 minutes. There is a fair choice for breakfast and dinner although this can get quite repetitive after a while. Most of the food was very salty and bland but we expected this anyway. The rooms were adequate and the balconies on the 6th floor offered nice views of the mountains.
The service was poor and the staff seemed very cold and unfriendly. This was in line with what I read about other reviews. The pool, sauna and steam rooms were good but tended to get very busy towards the end of the day.
