St George Beach Hotel & Spa Resort

Our stay overall was good, but we expected a lot more from this hotel. When we first arrived and checked in, we were very disappointed with the rooms. The beds were two singles put together with a larger mattress topper on top which created a slope in the bed. The bathroom did not smell nice and the smell would only clear after a shower but come back when the shower wasn't being used.

The AC unit was very old and very loud. Which forced us to sleep with earplugs in. The room temp didn't drop below 23 degrees even when set to 18. We actually overheard another couple complain and the staff said they would need to override it as its set to not go below a certain temp. Which made the room warm and very hard to cool.

All sunbeds are allocated for you. The lifeguard walks you to a sunbed which in our case wasn't around the pool and was told we could request to change and we would be notified when beds become available around the pool. We was told 5 days into our holiday that we could move to beds around the pool but they are heavily shaded until late afternoon. This allocation left a lot of sunbeds around the pool free when people were not using them or went out for the day.

However, the food was good. especially the restaurants you could book. The cocktail menu was good and never had a problem getting a drink with many different stations located around the resort.

Location was very good located on the beach with restaurants and public transport on the main round, 2 min walk away.

I wouldn't go back to this hotel or recommend to friends or family. Also, wouldn't say it was a 4 star hotel stay.
