Our hotel is located in a privileged setting: The 4-star Mercure Hotel Hamburg Mitte is close to the town hall, the Alster, the harbor, the Schanzenviertel, and directly next to the CCH and exhibition center. All 180 rooms are air-conditioned and have complementary WIFI. The five rooms in the meeting area are perfect for events of up to 170 people. You can conveniently arrive by train at Dammtor train station just 500 meters away. The airport is 12 km away and you can arrive by car from the A1, A7 or A23.

Reviews
The breakfast costs 22 euros, yet the coffee is surprisingly low quality. We came for a conference, and they even applied a higher rate. The rooms are below average, and not even a bottle of water is provided daily.
Reception very friendly, although gave no sympathy or real explanation for us having to evacuate the room in the middle of the night (just said it was kinda a false alarm).
Room interior very nice and clean, good shower.
I opted out of room cleaning and put up a "no disturb"-sign, still got disturbed by cleaner knocking the morning after the temporary evacuation.
Overall nice but not nice enough for the cost, in hindsight I would have chosen some other hotel.
* The room was small and had no view (first floor) at all
* The parking was really small and expensive
* Overall, the hotel was very expensive for the value (180 Euros/night). At that price, one can have much better service in high standing hotels in world capitals
