Our hotel is located in a privileged setting: The 4-star Mercure Hotel Hamburg Mitte is close to the town hall, the Alster, the harbor, the Schanzenviertel, and directly next to the CCH and exhibition center. All 180 rooms are air-conditioned and have complementary WIFI. The five rooms in the meeting area are perfect for events of up to 170 people. You can conveniently arrive by train at Dammtor train station just 500 meters away. The airport is 12 km away and you can arrive by car from the A1, A7 or A23.

Reception very friendly, although gave no sympathy or real explanation for us having to evacuate the room in the middle of the night (just said it was kinda a false alarm).
Room interior very nice and clean, good shower.
I opted out of room cleaning and put up a "no disturb"-sign, still got disturbed by cleaner knocking the morning after the temporary evacuation.
Overall nice but not nice enough for the cost, in hindsight I would have chosen some other hotel.
* The room was small and had no view (first floor) at all
* The parking was really small and expensive
* Overall, the hotel was very expensive for the value (180 Euros/night). At that price, one can have much better service in high standing hotels in world capitals
Room: compact with a fridge, bed, bathroom, and small desk. First room I was assigned had non-functional thermostat (something that happened to several colleagues). Second room had a working thermostat but non-working TV. The TV issue was it was unplugged but that was hard to fix because the unit is fixed to the wall very tightly and therefore plugging it back in was a pain. The shower stall was also pretty small and only had body wash (which was empty the first time I used it) and shampoo.
Desk staff are nice. The laundry was disappointing because I got a dress shirt cleaned and it was obviously not pressed.
Location was good for the conference. About a 15 minute walk to the heart of the city. Some close by restruant but they are limited. A good walk from public transport.
For personal travel I would hot choose this hotel after my experience.
