This hotel exemplifies what a good chain hotel should be. The staff was extremely efficient and proactively offered a late checkout without being asked. The Globalist upgrade was handled smoothly. Breakfast was great with plenty of options, which is generally the case at most Lindner hotels I've stayed at. The bathroom is quite high-tech, and the gym is exceptionally nice and bright for a hotel gym, with excellent exercise machines

- The mattresses were very hard (this may be a pro for you depending on your preferences) - shower water temperature was not consistent

The good:
Great location in central neighborhood of Koln with lots of restaurants and bars around. I walked here from the train station, no problem.
Breakfast buffet is really good. Not just the usual juices and breads but many warm and cold choices to pick from.
Staff is generally willing to help and speaks English well (this is not always the case here)
The bad:
My room was really noisy until 3-4AM, given that it was facing a very busy small street with bars and clubs. Couldn’t sleep at all. The safe in the room also didn’t work but that got fixed while I was out for dinner.
I was able to change rooms the next day with the help of AMEX, which should be more quiet, but now the shower is barely trickling (first room almost had too much pressure).
So all in all, some good points but definitely some areas to improve as well!

This is a very nice hotel, at a convenient location very close to the centre of Köln, and with ample eateries nearby. Rooms are comfortable, ours was a very spacious junior suite which we really enjoyed. One thing to note about this room type, is that it is quite dark, as there is only one window that provides the needed daylight, while the lights in the room are a bit dim. The bathroom however, is very well lit and bright, albeit a bit small.
The breakfast spread is wonderful, large with ample choice, in a spacious and comfortable restaurant. There is a small carpark below the hotel, which was always full during our stay, but thanks to that we found out that there is a much bigger and cheaper carpark (Parkhaus Am Friesenplatz) right across the road from the hotel. The hotel staff are polite, but also rather distant and aloof, lacking warmth (German style). Overall, this hotel is certainly recommended.

The hotel was conveniently located near Cologne’s main landmarks. Anyway, Cologne is a fairly compact city; you don’t need transport to get around.
Our beds were super-comfortable and ensured a restful sleep. The stylish design and comfortable furnishings of the room created a real feel-good atmosphere. The halls of our floor were nicely decorated with urban art. Each floor had a different theme.
The staff was kind and helpful. They also served a fabulous breakfast buffet, which was included in our rate. Also, at weekends, breakfast time was extended until 12:00 pm, which gave us some extra time to sleep.

I would like to recommend this hotel to Hyatt members.
As a new member of Hyatt, at first they are not very familiar with Hyatt benefits.
But when they make it clear, they kindly upgrade suites for me and give me access to the lounge. The staffs are very kind and patient.
The location is also very good, close to the city centre and U-Bahn.

if you need a room with adequate AC and climate control in the summer DO NOT come here. the room is extremely warm and you cannot lower the AC. i have been sweating every night and they don’t even have a fan to provide. i hate when hotels do this to paying guest. stop limiting the coolness of our room!

Very decent city hotel I'm a good location. It's easy to get to the hotel from central station by subway, and it's in the middle of the bar and party area.
The room seemed a bit outdated and could use a refresh, the AC could be stronger.
Else I got a good night's sleep.
Breakfast was fine, a good standard I'm Germany. Staff was friendly and helpful.
I will be back.

Very nice hotel. Staff was very friendly and were able to communicate in both German and English, so for tourists already a good spot. Rooms were very tidy, and the breakfast in the morning was incredibly tasteful and had lots of choices! The price is a bit higher perhaps than your usual hotel room in Cologne, but I believe it's worth it due to the high standards that they provide at this hotel.
