GS Hotel in Munchen

We stayed for one night while attending a fair in Munich. The location is convenient—around 30 minutes from the fairgrounds—but unfortunately, the overall experience fell short, especially given the high price compared to nearby hotels on the same date.

There was no free parking for hotel guests, so we had to leave the car on the street. The rooms were noticeably outdated. Basic amenities and functionality were lacking: the switches near the bed didn’t work, the shower head couldn’t be fixed in place, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. Safety and hygiene were also concerns—the hair dryer cable was plugged right next to the sink( high risk), and water glasses were oddly placed over the toilet seat.

The room had a tablet, but it was uncharged and unusable. It was also very hot inside, with no air conditioning or fan provided. There was no fridge or coffee machine, which we would have expected at this price point.

Breakfast was reasonably priced, but the selection was limited and the dining area felt overcrowded. Additionally, the staff seemed tense and not particularly welcoming.

While the location is convenient, the overall condition of the facilities and lack of basic comforts did not justify the cost. We would likely choose a different hotel next time.

I recently stayed at GS Hotel in Munich, which was arranged by friends, so we didn’t use a booking platform. After staying for three nights, we returned to the hotel, hoping to book again and leave our luggage there, as we were previously informed that returning would be no issue. However, upon arrival, the front desk staff informed us that the hotel was fully booked and that no rooms were available. The receptionist was extremely rude, telling us that we had to leave and find another hotel. When I pointed out this unkind attitude to another staff member, the original receptionist abruptly offered us a room at an inflated price, saying, ‘Stay if you want, but don’t blame me for the charge.’ Despite that I was with my two babies.
This experience left us very disappointed. We have stayed at this hotel several times, often with many guests, and expected better treatment. Hospitality should involve kindness and professionalism, especially for returning guests. We hope management will look into the attitude of their staff and ensure that guests feel welcome.
