Great hotel! Clean rooms! Water, Pepsi in the minibar every day for free. Clean beach. Beautiful ocean. Food: fish, mussels, squid, shrimp every day. Lots of meat, vegetables, fruits. The staff is very attentive and friendly! The room lacked slippers, but these are trifles.

I liked the hotel very much. They settled us in quickly. The rooms are clean, they clean well every day, there is a sufficient supply of all toiletries. Food - they feed you around the clock, a good selection and very tasty. Fresh juices, fruits, drinks - a huge selection. Special emphasis on the animation - just super. It is not boring in this hotel. The day is fully organized - exercises, games, entertainment. We recommend!

First of all! Best butler is Carlos Rosario! You need to get in contact with him at your arrival, he will take care of all your needs and make sure you get a VIP experience! The resort is amazing with super nice rooms and views. The beach is fantastic. The food was pretty great and the restaurants were amazing too! All in all we had an amazing vacation!

After 48 hours of being here at the royal club, things are not quite looking good. We are royal club members of nearly 18 years. Today was an experience that I would never forget. After having a body massage at the spa we spent all morning and early afternoon by the jacuzzi. We decided to have lunch a little after 2:00pm. We walked in the restaurant and we noticed no one greeted us by the door. We found our way to the nearest table and sat. One of the waitresses notice that we were sitting and asked us what we would like to drink, we placed our order of drinks. Wendy the waiter came over and ask us what we would like to eat. I told him that I would like the shrimp bisque, shrimp cocktail and I was told that they were out of shrimp cocktail, I continue with my order and he left. Our food was ok! On our way out the door I notice Wendy walking over what it seems to be a shrimp cocktail 😳 I asked the gentleman was that a shrimp cocktail and he responded, yes it is. I don’t know what to call this, but I felt like I was discriminated by Wendy who the night before when I asked for a small piece of avocado to go with my salad. He very rudely answered me, if the green salad doesn’t have avocado why would you like to change the chefs menu. Wow, that was a slap in my face, I have never been denied any small request by anyone. This is obviously discrimination on his part, the other gentleman was a white male. It’s a shame that things are changing so badly and no one is doing anything about it or no one cares.

While the beach is stunning, the hotel itself is dated. The buffets are extremely boring and found that they re-purpose items from one meal to the next or even the next day. There is absolutely no creativity in their menu offerings. We visit Punta Cana every year and this place we will not be returning to.

I booked a 6-night stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from the start. While I appreciated the airport pickup and the somewhat slow check-in process, things went downhill quickly once I got to my room.

The air conditioning didn’t work, and despite the butler’s assurance that a repair person would address the issue, he insisted it was functioning when it clearly wasn’t. After waiting for four hours and having to escalate my concerns to the supervisor, I was finally moved to another room.

The new room was a complete letdown—it was dirty, with mold and dampness throughout, and hair littered the floor. The room,furniture and bathroom showed significant rust and wear, and the couch was so filthy that it stained my clothes when I sat on it.

The staff were generally unfriendly and unhelpful, which only added to my frustration. Dining options were severely limited; we could only eat at the buffet, which offered a disappointing selection. I was told that reservations were needed for the other restaurants, but they were all fully booked, and many were closed.

After just two nights, I decided to check out and move to a different hotel. The only positive aspect of my stay was the outdoor garden, which was lovely. However, it wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the overall dissatisfaction I experienced. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my stay.

We visited in August and stayed for 15 days. We stayed at the Royal level and were quite disappointed with the food a la carte restaurant. The Staff was very moody. We never got a smile or a proper welcoming. We have been members for 20 years and this was by far the worst service ever. The royal level bar was great and so was the staff. Always with a smile and very professional. Thank you Enrique and Willy who have made our stay a memorable one. The beach is spectacular it sure is a paradise. The rooms are well kept and clean and well situated as everything is close by. We have stayed in building 21 on the main floor which we have enjoyed very much.
Overall the resort itself is beautiful and very clean.
Only down poor was the food and service at the Royal Level (cold atmosphere). If you can offer more choices on your menu and change the staff it will make a difference.
Did not feel welcomed at all in this restaurant as a member. We enjoyed eating at the buffet and the other restaurants where we were welcomed and treated nicely.

My first room was not good as my daughter got an electric shock from the hairdryer and the plug sockets did not work properly, but the guest services moved me as soon as I complained. My new room is much better, excellent housekeeping. The buffet is very good, breakfast staff are good and the buffet manager is excellent and very attentive. The al la carte restaurants are not very good apart from the fish restaurant which was delicious. The Mexican served cold food that was sat for too long. The pizza and taco snack bars are delicious. The snack bar near pool is good for drinks but birds sit on the food so don’t eat there. Entertainment is good, better by the beach. Bar staff are good in main lobby but not so good at beach bar. At weekends the hotel gets busy and I believes that they should only serve two or three drinks per person at the beach bar because people are getting far too many drinks and refilling water bottles with beer. The location is excellent and the beach is beautiful. The spa is also very good and good value for money. Overall this has been a good holiday for the price we paid and would recommend if if you’re not expecting five star I would say this is probably more of a four star hotel but for the price we played we were happy.

The resort was great. We have first club membership and it was definitely worth it for us. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back again. The only downside to the resort is there wasn't as many activities for teenagers to participate in. Other than that, great resort and would recommend it!

**Review:**

I recently stayed at the Occidental Resort in Punta Cana and had a mixed experience. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds and a nice beach. However, there were several issues that detracted from the overall experience.

First, communication was a challenge. Many of the staff members spoke little to no English, which made it difficult to get assistance or ask questions. This was frustrating and led to several misunderstandings during our stay.

The food was another disappointment. While there were plenty of options, the meals were very repetitive, and the quality was just average. After a few days, it became monotonous, and I found myself wishing for more variety and better-tasting dishes.

Lastly, the pool closed quite early at 7:30 PM. This was surprising and inconvenient, especially when we wanted to enjoy a swim after dinner.

Overall, while the resort itself was pleasant, the language barrier, lackluster food, and early pool closure left much to be desired. It’s a decent place, but I expected more from a resort in this price range.
