Port Alicante City & Beach

Overall, our stay was good until our sixth day. My partner turned the handle of the large, heavy balcony door. Out of nowhere the top of the sliding door became free of the runner and started to fall onto the balcony. Luckily, my partner managed to help lower it, although he couldn’t stop it as it was extremely heavy. Fortunately the door did not break the glass balcony and fall into the pool area 5 stories below. My partner was also not physically hurt although we were both shaken up. We were moved rooms and only offered a free lunch and dinner. I explained this wasn’t good enough and they agreed to a full refund. When we got home however, they had only refunded us 5 nights out of 7. This was disappointing. This could have been much worse, my partner and/or others could have been seriously hurt or worse.
There was no evidence or the incident being reported officially, no one asked us to confirm what had happened and there was no proof that the door had then been checked or fixed.

I'm currently staying at Port Alicante, and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this supposed 4-star hotel. The air conditioning in the old side of the hotel doesn’t work at all. We requested to move rooms and were assured that the air conditioning in the new room would be functioning properly. However, the new room's aircon was just as bad, offering no relief from the heat. Instead of fixing the issue or providing a satisfactory solution, we were given a fan. For a hotel that claims to be 4-star, this is simply unacceptable.

In addition to the poor room conditions, I encountered extremely poor customer service from the bar staff, which was both surprising and disappointing. Most notably, one of the employees named Bryan acted in an unprofessional and unacceptable manner by physically pushing my wife’s arms off the bar. Such behavior is not only disrespectful but also completely inappropriate and uncalled for.

We chose this hotel because it is advertised as a 4-star establishment, and we expected a certain standard of service and amenities. Unfortunately, our experience has been far from what we anticipated and what a 4-star hotel should offer. I would not recommend this hotel if you're looking for comfort, professional service, and properly functioning facilities
