Great location and simple room. Has the bare necessities, not the most comfortable (especially the beds/pillows) but fine for a couple nights. Walls are paper thin

The room was pretty basic, yet the location is very central. The service was a bit cold.

Well located ( it's two blocks from Gran Via ) and clean. There's a safe in the room but no kettle with tea or coffee in it. However there are two vending machines in a comfy lobby downstairs. There's also a microwave and computers to be shared. The room has a tv and a device to heat the room.

I stayed for bout 5-6 days, booked it on booking n while staying I asked for 1 more night n it was about 60 or 65 euros, which is much cheaper when I book online, so recommended that you can ask them directly for a better price. It was a very good location as you can walk to granvia or to primark in less than 3 minutes n it stays just behind primark. They clean your room daily if you hang the sign at your door handle. Laundromat is just couple minutes of walk n couple of supermarket nearby. Overall, worth the price n even though it named hostal but to me it looks like a hotel.

Every time I visit Madrid I stay here, you can't find a better location, close to almost every tourist attraction. The only thing it lacks: a tourist hustle and bustle. Authentic bars and restaurants without "tourist tax", small grocery stories, laundromats, everything is a few steps away. The staff is super friendly, the price is reasonable, and the wifi speed is the best I have ever experienced in any hotel around the world. If you want to feel real Madrid, to become a part of this magic city I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Not luxurious but a great option for being next to literally everything in Madrid’s center. Totally recommend. Also balcony is nice.

Pretty good value and location on a side street downtown. Short walk to many points of interest. The staff was professional, courteous, and very helpful. The room and lobby were clean and tidy. The bed however was rather hard compared to what I’m accustomed to.

We just returned from 3-day stay at Hostal Ballesta. The hostal itself is fine, with clean rooms and comfortable accommodations. The bathroom tub is fairly tight but it was manageable for us, but older visitors would have a harder time getting in and out of the shower/tub. The main reason it receives 3 instead of 4 stars is that it's right in the middle of calle with a lot prostitutes, who are on the street at all hours of the day and night. The women did not directly bother us, but we were more concerned about the kinds of men that prostitution attracts. And for one night we heard a lot of loud voices that sounded like arguments. Again the hostal is nice but potential guests should know ahead of time that it's on a street with a lot of regular prostitution which would not be good for families or visitors with young children.
