I narrowed down my choice of hotels to two and picked this one as it appeared to be in a quiet area. I am so glad that I didn’t go for the one in Gran Via. It’s reasonably easy to access by the airport bus (number 203) and you are less than 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. It’s also very near Recoletos Station. The hotel has steps up to reception, there is probably a lift but I didn’t notice it. I booked a balcony room which was a decent size for me. The sink is on the right hand side as soon as walk in the room. The toilet and shower are in a separate cubicle with a glass door. The room had a minibar, digital safe and a kettle. It also came with slippers and a robe which was appreciated. You can request an “iron” to press your clothes but it’s not a conventional iron. It’s a handheld steamer but it does the job. The area around the hotel is quite peaceful compared to the Gran Via area. You are in walking distance of practically everywhere. I didn’t need to use the tube, buses or taxis. You can walk to all the major sites within 20-30 minutes and you are very near to Retiro Park. The hotel staff are very friendly and assisted me with my queries. I had a lovely stay and would definitely book again.

The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and smell pretty good. The pressure of the water in the shower was great and this is something I personally appreciate a lot. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows, the room has a minibar which is not a common thing in Spain, there is no iron in the room, however you can ask for one if you need it. The rooms are quiet. I loved this Hotel, I would recommend it to everyone!

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. They are supposedly a 4 star hotel and they certainly charge like a 4 star hotel but its really a high 2, maybe a low 3 star.
Building is very very old and for that reason the rooms are small and cramped. They wanted to cram a King sized bed into that small of a room and ended up with no room to do anything else a all.
Rooms are dark and the finishes are crappy. We complained and for 16 Euros more were given a "remodeled" or "reformed" room on a higher floor. Granted that the balcony (which was 1 foot deep) was nice, but the room was just the same as the old one with new wall paper and a coat of paint.
Oh... Hotel provided safe is NOT bolted down to anything... So basically your valuables are locked in the safe, but anyone can grab the safe and go! I mentioned this to the reception and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "yup, thats the way it is"
Complimentary coffee is instant coffee because One Shot is too cheap to get Nespresso machines. Bathroom doors do not close all the way and have a 2" gap (which they tried to cover with a plastic edge). Bathroom drain was cracking even though this was a remodeled room.
Bed was hard as a rock and the pillow were hard and lumpy.

Front desks attendants were not friendly and could not provide suggestions for restaurants or anything. The TV did not work and I had to go 3 times to the front desk to get a new remote control. I did not get any complimentary offer.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this One Shot hotel in Madrid and were very happy with everything. We got a room with a balcony, which was nice as we could open the door, get fresh air and get a sense of the room being a bit larger. Even though the room itself was small, it had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable and we loved the shower (spacious, with large rain shower head + hand-held). And it was nice to have hot water for coffee/tea in the room. We had breakfast in the hotel one day, and it was fine and plentiful - though nothing hot. The location is excellent! A short walk from the Retiro park, and also to the Prado and the Reina Sofia museums. And there are several nice restaurants nearby in the area of the Puerta de Alcala monument/circle, so no need to walk far for good food options. We highly recommend it!

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in September.
As much as the staff were welcoming the rooms were completely different to what is shown on the website.
The hallway light was broken and we were walking to our room in the complete dark. We got to our room which was very dark. There were marks on the walls .. not little marks either.
It wasn’t feeling like a 4 star hotel at all.

Fantastic first time experience at this property. Solianni Solis (receptionist) and Sandra Angamarca (housekeeping) were fantastic!!! Made our experience memorable. outstanding location; loved the property breakfast! Very accommodating staff. Thank you!

We booked a normal room and the space was non existent. We couldn't pass from one side of the room to the other at the same time. The windows would hit us while opened because of the really small space. The bathroom was not 100% clean, there was dirt in the floor. The staff was not friendly at all, except for the breakfast employee. Would not stay here again.

Perfect location boutique hotel which has been designed well to take advantage of traditional features whilst being modern and relaxing. Bedrooms are comfortable and the bathroom has the best waterfall shower - perfect after a hot day in Madrid.
