Reviews
I recently stayed at the Westin Hotel in Madrid, Spain, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel’s location is excellent—centrally located and within walking distance of many key attractions, making it ideal for both tourists and business travelers.
The rooms were a standout feature: clean, spacious, and elegantly designed, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the city. However, during my November visit, the hotel was undergoing renovations. While it’s great to see improvements being made, the remodeling caused some areas of the hotel to be a bit dusty.
The restaurant and entrance areas could use more attention. Unfortunately, the entrance and lobby did not reflect the luxury typically associated with a five-star hotel, which was somewhat disappointing.
Despite these minor setbacks, the hotel’s prime location and high-quality rooms make it a solid choice. I look forward to seeing the enhancements once the remodeling is complete, as I believe they will elevate the experience to match the Westin’s renowned five-star reputation.
Be advised, the hotel is currently under renovations as they will be changing from Westin to a Luxury Collection property. So sometimes you hear a little noise you would not expect otherwise. The temporary lobby is a little awkward and the fact that you need to take two separate elevators to get to your room is messy, but this is temporary and the hotel is making a great job to make accommodations so the guests are comfortable.
Rooms are amazing and the service is even better. We had a small balcony, were two people could actually step outside and have a glass of wine. Breakfast is complimentary (buffet and a la carte) and you can even have it taken to your room.
Location is fantastic and the service was phenomenal.
A little on the pricey side but I guess that you get what you pay for.
There was also a promo deal of “stay 3 nights pay for 2” promotion that we applied to our account. When we went to check out, it was charging us the full rate. After a lengthy discussion with one of the senior staff members, she finally honored the promo and removed one night.
Bottom line - giving this 2 stars because service and the hotel were far from 5-Star hotel standards. They need to do better.
So many staff at the lobby almost crowded to some extent yet they provide no actual function - just standing there blocking the already narrow hallway (due to ongoing renovation) and barely smile and greet.
The receptionists were also unhelpful speaking broken English.
A cleaning lady rolled her eyes when we told her no cleaning needed in the room.
5-star hotel with such low standards but I guess it’s just what’s customary here lol
We must say that beside all of the inconvenience of the reformations hotel staff is great and at the end we go to this places for service!
And if I have a to speak about customer service I must name Alberto who was the best front desk attendance I ever had!
Alberto was the most remarkable part of our stay even I have to say that new rooms look great!
I will treat my family again with a stay at the Westin Palace Madrid once again in the future!
Restaurant/breakfast/bars/reception/lobby are all now temporarily in other spaces -
Some underground - which are very mediocre in design. You definitely feel like you are in a barely dressed construction site. A courtyard Marriott has more style. It’s kind of sad really.
I feel badly for the staff as they are doing their best but this hotel is currently nothing like 5 star while renovations are ongoing.
Management should be aware that clients do notice.
Do not look at photos online as they do not reflect the current situation of the public areas.
