A friend from Madrid recommended Orfila over all other hotels and I am glad he did. Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. Room service was fantastic. Entire staff had high sense of urgency to help with any requests. We will be back.

They were able to schedule Flamenco, Museum tickets, Palace Tour and car rides for me without missing a beat... Excellent job.
The food was very good. In addition to the dining room they have a small but very nice bar, a tea room and a very pretty garden terrace.
My room (#51) was nice, with coffee bar, desk, sitting area, antique looking decor. A bit uncomfortable in a low ceiling area (following the rooftop) with the coffee bar located under it. I am 5'4", I cannot imagine how uncomfortable it would be for a taller person. The bed was VERY firm, no soft anything over it... I would haveliked a featherbed over the super firm mattress. Last thing, a marble step from bath to the bedroom...OK but not ideal.
Nice location, I could walk to El Prado, The Market and shopping areas (I am a good walker).

The hotel is charming, the rooms spacious and well-decorated, and the staff are amazing. We ordered room service on our last night as we were exhausted. They ensured that they made everything vegetarian for us which isn’t easy in Madrid. The daily breakfast was delicious, and included specialty coffee and custom egg orders as well as a lovely buffet. I highly recommend this hotel!

A total gem in the best, most peaceful street in Madrid. You can walk any way in either direction of the best neighborhood's of Madrid and know you will return to an oasis. We can't wait to be back.

In a world: flawless.

This was my second visit to Madrid. I stumbled upon the Hotel Orfila the previous trip while walking around the neighborhood, stepped inside, and knew this would be where I stayed the next time. A year later, here I am.

From the moment you arrive up to check out, the staff go out of their way to look after you. Nothing is too much to ask. If they notice you sitting in the lobby, someone will come over to offer a coffee or drink. The property is elegantly appointed from head to toe, exuding old-world charm all the while feeling fresh—not stuffy or kitschy in the slightest.

The beds was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in any European hotel, with a generously sized bathroom, well-functioning air conditioning, and importantly, very quiet. Tastefully selected antiques adorn each unique guest room.

The restaurant, which encompasses a dining room and a delightful garden terrace, is among the most attractive I’ve ever seen. And a cozy bar sits just off the lobby, the perfect hideaway for an aperitif or nightcap.

I’ve found my home away from home in Madrid, and am already anticipating eagerly my next visit.

We love this hotel, location, staff, and food. It was one of our best experiences in hospitality. The rooms are beautiful as well as the dining areas. The interior sitting areas are also beautifully kept up. The front desk contacted a doctor for me who came to the hotel as I had left a prescription at home. I cannot thank the management enough for this welcomed service. I had a prescription filled within an hour and a half.

Amazing experience. They care so much and made sure we were happy with everything. Christopher was so amazing and I enjoyed having him help us with everything. After we checked out, the lady server brought us coffee and pastries wrapped in a cloth napkin in a hotel branded bag for our long journey south since we had missed breakfast that morning. She was so thoughtful that we were amazed. We will definitely return to this hotel if we ever return to Madrid. Thank you, Christopher!
