Not worth the money, when travelling with children. Rooms are not small, noisy and the view is of a scaffold...
Breakfast is definitely a highlight: plenty of options for all tastes and dietary needs, with good quality products.
A downside is the swimming pool: children are not allowed, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. There are also quite a lot of rules, which takes away some of the enjoyment.
Overall, I’m satisfied with my stay, though I wouldn’t necessarily rate the hotel as a full 5-star experience.
The service throughout the stay was exceptional. Thoughtful touches like complimentary water, a welcome treat upon arrival, and well-stocked amenities made us feel genuinely cared for. The breakfast was better than expected, with plenty of made-to-order options, and the tapas in the afternoon were the perfect snack between outings.
The pool is stylish and peaceful, but it’s not super kid-friendly—limited to six people at a time and requires a reservation, so we only used it once. The gym is there if you need it, though it’s pretty underwhelming (I usually skip hotel gyms anyway).
What really makes this hotel shine is the location—walking distance to just about everything. Be aware that noise travels even up to the ninth floor, but they provide earplugs and eye masks, which is a nice touch.
Overall, Melia Madrid Princesa delivers a thoughtful, well-rounded stay with upscale touches and one of the best locations in the city.
A big shoutout to Sophie for all the food recommendations and to Monserrat for giving me both Pilates recommendations as well as being my interpreter when I was looking for a laundromat. All of the ladies there were so helpful!
Update- they did accommodate the request for another gym to use at their sister hotel. I’m sure the hotel is going to be great after construction is completed.
