Hotel Fagus by Aycon

The hotel is modern and really quite nice rooms although they are small. From the moment we arrived and checked in we found the staff rude and very abrupt, but were just keen to get on with our holiday. The pool was great although I can imagine in peak season it would just be too crowded and busy and potentially dangerous as it is on the roof and freestanding so one false step and a slip and you would be off the side of the building, no sun loungers either just chairs (and don’t hold your breath for the ‘spa’ part of the hotel’s name as it is just a sauna which apparently is still closed for Covid).The showers aren’t sealed properly so no matter what you will end up with a soaking bathroom, and there are not enough towels - I was only given one body towel and one hand towel per day. I don’t think they change the sheets at all (we were there 5 days) they just fold the duvet. The staff would constantly be unhelpful and even called us over to complain about a makeup smudge on a pillow case! Also if you’re staying with friends be aware some of the bathrooms are glass walls so no privacy. Our friend got food poisoning so we asked if there was any way they could extend our checkout time for a few hours and the man at reception just laughed, the rest of the holiday they gave the impression that we were being laughed at and every question we asked (where can we park our rental car, where can we get extra towels) was met with disdain. I paid for a superior room with a view but it was smaller than everyone else’s and my view was directly into someone’s apartment! Breakfast is very basic and gives the impression they just top up the old stuff daily rather than it being fresh.
