Euro Design Hotel

I recently stayed at Euro Design Hotel in Istanbul, and my experience was mixed – some parts were amazing while others were very disappointing.

First, let me start with the positives. The reception staff, especially Bekir and Irfan, were absolutely wonderful. They were extremely welcoming, respectful, and always tried their best to help us whenever we had an issue. Honestly, they made our stay better with their professionalism and kind attitude. The breakfast buffet was another highlight – so much variety, fresh options, and delicious food every morning. A special thanks to Gokce, the lady who served us breakfast. She was incredibly nice, polite, and welcoming – truly one of the gems of this hotel’s staff.

Now, the negative side – and unfortunately, it was a big part of the experience. The room was nothing like the pictures online. In the photos, the rooms look spacious with high ceilings, but in reality, the ceiling was so low that you could literally touch it. The view outside was horrible – not at all what you would expect for the price we paid. On top of that, we had to request refills for basic necessities like hand soap and toilet paper – things the housekeeping staff should automatically take care of.

The worst part was the washroom drainage. It was a nightmare. Every time we took a shower, the water wouldn’t drain properly and would spread all over the bathroom floor. This made the experience very uncomfortable and unpleasant.

While Bekir and Irfan genuinely tried their best to help resolve our concerns, the manager, Ibru, was the biggest disappointment. She was extremely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Not once did she approach us to ask about our problems or try to reassure us that our issues would be fixed. As a manager, her attitude was unacceptable – it felt like she didn’t care at all about guest satisfaction.

Overall, I would say the staff like Bekir, Irfan, and Gokce made our stay enjoyable, but the room quality, facilities, and management were very poor. For the price we paid, the experience did not meet expectations. If the hotel fixes the drainage issue, improves housekeeping, and especially replaces the manager with someone who actually cares about guests, it could be a much better place to stay.
