Surmeli Istanbul Hotel

Rude staff .. refused to give me breakfast with 4 nights..stating my reservation does not include breakfast..hard to get to with taxi due to one way streets..I don’t recommend this hotel

We got 2 rooms and the rooms were small as well as being extremely ugly, not what is shown. I’m extremely not impressed, they say 5 stars but I would not even give them 3. We were on the 11th floor and we paid 180£ for both rooms I wanted a complete refund but also needed a place to sleep the night. Everything in the room is very old and the only thing that is nice is the lobby but it is also the part that you spend the least amount of time in. If you are anywhere above the 6th floor the elevator will take ages to arrive to your level. I don’t know how the food was, but it smelled good, however it was extra fees nothing about this place is 5 stars apart from the lobby. Anywhere above the 10th floor you feel claustrophobic and the 12th 13th and 14th floor seem unfinished, the view is ok because there are some building blocking the view, but this would be the least of your worries because there broken sockets as well as lights are bought for 2$ and are also ugly. Not worth it go to a cheaper hotel near the river, I would recommend Hilton Golden horn, lazzoni or Ramada.
