Eresin Hotels Topkapi

I came from Europe for training in surgery procedures to İstanbul, and I didn't have much choice in selecting a hotel because I was assigned this hotel by the clinic where I am training. I am used to a 5-star hotel standard only . We arrived for 10 days with my family, and overall, the beginning was very pleasant. However, on the second day, I wanted to have a glass of wine in the room with my wife after a whole day of surgery procedures to relax. I was greatly surprised when a female security guard, who does not speak English, prohibited me from going further, saying that I had alcohol purchased outside the hotel! The reception informed me that I had signed an agreement at check-in stating that I could not bring food and beverages into the hotel. This is the first time in the world that I have encountered such absurdity! Additionally, there is a legal error in the check-in form, which states that beverages cannot be brought in, but in English, it should specify alcoholic beverages.

All of this is to encourage sales within the hotel, but please, remember it would be nice if the reception, if you want to introduce such ridiculous bans, first informs guests about it, and second, hires a proper lawyer and translator to correctly draft the documents so you can rely on them. I will say this: I did not pay directly for the hotel but many thousands of euros for the training for doctors, and I would never have expected such a low level of service. I know this is not Europe, but seeing prices in euros, you probably want to be associated with high standards; however, that is clearly not enough. We are very disappointed, but the only good thing we can say is that we were very pleased with the service provided by the bellboys—very kind, helpful, and fluent in English. At least in this area, the staff was of a high standard

This hotel is terrible. The location is far away from the main tourist attractions, and they do not allow food to be brought into the hotel. The staff by the name of Ozcan, insisted that this is a rule that is being practised everywhere in the world. I have travelled to NY, London, LA, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne(major metropolitan cities of the world), but never before that this rule is being practised so strictly and in a very unreasonable manner. The staff are also unable to speak English well. Absolute let down of a hotel.

I was there for a conference recently. The ticket of the conference included lunch and dinner at the hotel. The dinner cost around 80€.
I was surprised to taste some of the most horrible food I’ve ever had.
Especially at dinner.
It was tasteless, it was really really bad.
I had the vegetarian option which was greens with rice (80€ dinner) yet my friends who had the meat option also didn’t enjoy it. And all this without one glass of wine.
Really bad experience with the food, really disappointing. I’ve never had such bad food even in mediocre restaurants
