Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate

My husband had work in AD and Ibis was the closest to his workplace. We went for their one bedroom apartment as we stayed for the whole week and needed to utilize the washing machine, kitchen and bigger space. The price is on the higher range, given that it is a 3* hotel with limited services.
Staff members are all nice and welcoming, especially the receptionist who checked us in. I wasn’t really shocked to find out that handling the luggage is self-service, but we were inconvenienced by the trolley they offered for our luggage, which is similar to the one you find in airports and not the regular one at hotels where you can hang your clothes (my husband had his army uniforms etc.) The hotel could truly benefit from a revamp as the carpets are pretty much worn out and rippling in the hallway (at least on the 17th floor). The flooring in the apartment was weird and had different colors around one of the bathrooms’ doors, as if the door was treated. The shower head had mildew and rust which made me extra careful not to open it. I did not know that self-service would mean that I do the cleaning myself, too. After a long drive from Dubai to AD, I spent around an hour cleaning and sanitizing what I could, especially the nasty microwave, and washing machine which needs a replacement at this point and not just fixing (pictures provided of all the dirt that came out from cleaning both). The apartment has potential but definitely needs a lot of work. Also, some lights were not working. On the bright side, in-room dining was great. The selection of food is massive and I especially loved that they included the Emirati cuisine. Some other noteworthy remarks I have, as a therapist I would recommend reconsidering the art pieces inside the apartment (1743). The colors can be triggering for some conditions. They can evoke certain emotions too for anyone. The other remark is on the perfume stand between the two hotels. Indoor incense burning is not less harmful than indoor smoking. With all the eco-friendly and sustainable steps that the hotel is taking, that should’ve been the first thing to think about: cultivating a nontoxic indoor air quality.

“value for money”

it's super cheap price, the room and bathroom is small but it's reasonable with the price. the only thing i don't like is that you need to ask for everything you need and i requested a non-smoking room but the hallway and elevator smells cigarettes even inside the room. I like their facilities even if you need to go to the other building.
