Southern Sun Abu Dhabi

I absolutely love this city hotel for the exceptional comfort they provide. Having stayed here over 30 times, it's clear how much I appreciate this place. The staff, from the reception to the restaurant waiters, to the poolside team - are always courteous, professional, and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, featuring both a bathtub and a shower. I love the presentation and the taste of capuccino in the lobby 😋😍
My only minor observation is that, quite often, a double room will have just one spoon and one glass, even when two guests are staying. While room service promptly provides the required items when requested, I do find it a bit puzzling. Nonetheless, this doesn't take away from the overall outstanding experience this hotel consistently delivers! 👏

This was a great hotel in Abu Dhabi. Room are quite neat and in order. Service was so exceptional. The location is perfect. It just one street away from Hamdan Street. I remember they do have a nice sports bar and steak restaurant(The Fondry I think). I could recommend this hotel to those whose are seeking for a 4-star hotel experience.

The location is perfect close to all the attractions and there is a free shuttle bus to Yas attractions which takes only 30 minutes.

The rooms, lobby and restaurant are very luxurious.

All the staff members are very kind and professional. We had an issue with our reservation but all the shift managers handled the situation in a very professional and kind manner.

This is a great hotel for a visit to Abi Dhabi. Staff were friendly. Breakfast had a huge choice and I think the best omelette I have had 👌pool area was small but perfect... But too hot to enjoy. Bedroom was clean, comfortable and very well fitted.

Amazing experience love the hotel atmosphere and layout of the rooms special thanks to front office team and housekeeping staff who look after us also they have a variety of food items during breakfast

I've had the pleasure of staying at over a dozen hotels in Abu Dhabi, but Southern Sun has truly set itself apart, making it my go-to choose for nearly 10 months now after trying 12 hotels in Abu Dhabi among past years. This detailed review is a testament to the outstanding experience I’ve had at this hotel.

Location & Convenience:
The hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Nestled in the city center with a stunning sea view, it offers the perfect blend of urban convenience and serene beauty. Free parking, valet services, and easy access to taxis and buses right outside make getting around a breeze. Shops, restaurants, and other amenities are just a short stroll away, all within a two-minute walk.

Facilities & Design:
Southern Sun boasts a unique architectural design and is equipped with multiple elevators, ensuring quick access to rooms. The budget-friendly rates, especially compared to other hotels in the same category, make it an exceptional value. The rooms are beautifully furnished, offering comfort and breathtaking views.

Amenities:
The amenities at Southern Sun are top-notch. The pool is large and inviting, and the gym is well-equipped for a comprehensive workout. Although I haven't tried the sauna, it’s an available option for guests. The hotel features five restaurants and coffee shops, each offering delicious food at reasonable prices, often with guest discounts. The laundry service is efficient and affordably priced, and room supplies, including water and coffee, are replenished without limit.

Service:
What truly makes Southern Sun stand out is its staff. Everyone here goes above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay. I want to express my gratitude to Ahmed Ayashi, the Senior Sales Manager, whose support has been exceptional. When I mentioned my concern about potential hotel fatigue after six months, he promptly upgraded my room. Additionally, when I expressed a wish for a microwave, one was provided the same day. Mohamed Maksoud has also been a great support, always ready to assist with any inquiry.

At the reception, Ahmed, Kal, Alice, Ashraf Siranks, and Abd Alaziz are always friendly, helpful, and available 24/7. Emmanuel from housekeeping is incredibly fast and detail-oriented, ensuring my room is always spotless. The breakfast team—Nasser, Salma, Girald, Sanishy, Navidi, and Terry—deserve special mention for making each morning a delightful experience.

For the prices and given that they are in UAE, I have to rate them 5/5. They might not be a 5 star hotel but their quality, rooms and service are better than some 5 stars I have visited. The hotel building and premises are modern, tastefully designed and maintained. The rooms, we stayed in a standard double bed, were very well kept and I couldn't find a fault in anything in the room. Really impressed with a separate toilet, shower and a bath. Location is central and good places to eat within walking distances if you are bored of the hotel's own restaurant. The breakfast spread is excellent and very good quality.
